아두이노 장치 프로그래밍을 통한 기초 디지털 논리 회로 실습 교육 과정 (Curriculum for Basic Digital Logic Circuit Practices through Arduino Device Programming)

  • 본 논문에서는 기초 디지털 논리 회로 실습 교육 과정을 설계하기 위해, 디지털 출력을 갖는 아두이노 프로그래밍을 통한 디지털 논리회로 제어 방법을 제안하였다. 디지털 논리회로와 아두이노 프로그래밍 실습은 국내 교육과정의 고등학교 및 대학교의 공학 계열 학과에서 필수 교육과정으로 지정하고 있다. 하지만 실제 실습에는 디지털 논리회로와 아두이노 프로그래밍이 결합된 예제가 부족하고, 디지털 논리회로를 설계하고 오실로스코프 보다 저가의 비용으로 실험할 수 있는 교육 과정이 부족하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 이 문제를 해결하는 디지털 출력 명령을 통한 아두이노 프로그래밍을 통해, 디지털 논리회로를 제어하고 실습해보는 한 학기 기간의 기초 디지털 논리 회로 실습 교육 과정을 제안하였다.

  • An innovative design of a floating-buoy wave energy converter (WEC) using hydrostatic transmission (HST), named HSTWEC, is presented in this paper. The system is designed to convert ocean wave fluctuation into electricity by using the HST circuit and an electric generator. Based on the floating-buoy concept, the wave forces the sub-buoy to move up and down. Consequently, the electric power can be obtained from the generator in both the moving directions of the sub-buoy through the HST circuit as shown in Fig. 1. In order to investigate the HSTWEC operations, a mathematical model of the system is indispensible. In addition, the method to control the HSTWEC, including: pump displacement control, tension adjustment control and ballast weight control, is also discussed in this paper. Finally, the design concept as well as simulation results indicated that this HSTWEC design is an effective solution and possible to fabricate for wave energy generation.

Design of Current-Type Readout Integrated Circuit for 160 × 120 Pixel Array Applications

  • We propose a Readout Integrated Circuit (ROIC), which applies a fixed current bias sensing method to the input stage in order to simplify the circuit structure and the infrared sensor characteristic control. For the sample-and-hold stage to display and control a signal detected by the infrared sensor using a two-dimensional (2D) focal plane array, a differential delta sampling (DDS) circuit is proposed, which effectively removes the FPN. In addition, the output characteristic is improved to have wider bandwidth and higher gain by applying a two-stage variable gain amplifier (VGA). The output characteristic of the proposed device was 23.91 mV/$^{\circ}C$, and the linearity error rate was less than 0.22%. After checking the performance of the ROIC using HSPICE simulation, the chip was manufactured and measured using the SMIC 0.35 um standard CMOS process to confirm that the simulation results from the actual design are in good agreement with the measurement results.

  • The design of a gate driver power supply for a three-phase inverter using a silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFET. The requirements for the power supply circuit of the gate driver for the SiC MOSFET are investigated, and a flyback converter using multiple transformers is used to make the four isolated power supplies. The proposed method has the advantage of easily constructing the power supply circuit in a limited space as compared with a multi-output flyback converter using a single core. The power supply circuit for the three-phase SiC MOSFET inverter for driving an AC motor is designed and implemented. The operation and validity of the implemented circuit are verified through simulations and experiments.

자립형 이동로봇 구동을 위한 직류 서보전동기 PLL 속도제어 시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on PLL Speed Control System of DC Servo Motor for Mobile Robot Drive)

  • The speed control associated with dc servo motors for direct-drive applications of mobile robot is considered in this study. Robot is moved by power wheeled steering of two dc servo motors mounted to it. In order to cooperate with micro-computer and to achieve the high-performance operation of dc servo motor, speed control system is composed of a digital Phase Locked Loop and H-type drive circuit. And the motor is driven by Pulse Width Modulations. In controlling PWM, it is modified to compose of H-type drive circuit with feedback diodes and switching transistor and design of control sequence so that it may show linear characteristics. As a result, speed characteristics of motor showed linear features. In order to get data on design of PLL control system, the parameters of 80[W[ motor & robot device is measured by simple software control. The PLL speed control system is schemed and designed by leaner drive circuit and measured parameters. A complete speed control system applied to 80[W] dc servo motor showed good linearity, stability and high response. Also, it is verified that the PLL speed control system has good compatibility as a mobile robot driver.

  • 본 논문에서는 MPPT 제어 기능을 갖는 열에너지 하베스팅 회로를 설계하였다. MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) 제어는 열전소자의 개방회로전압과 MPP 전압간의 관계를 이용하였으며 열전소자의 개방회로전압을 주기적으로 샘플링 함으로써 이를 이용해 MPPT 기준전압을 생성하여 이를 기준으로 부하로의 에너지 공급을 제어한다. 모의실험 결과 94%의 최대 전력 효율을 보였다. 제안된 열에너지 하베스팅 회로는 $0.35{\mu}m$ CMOS 공정으로 설계하였으며 설계된 칩 면적은 PAD를 제외하고 $1168.7{\mu}m{\times}541.3{\mu}m$이다.

Design of Single-Phase Line-Start Permanent Magnet Motor Using Equivalent Circuit Method

  • In this research, the design procedure and the design method of a single-phase line-start permanent magnet motor (LSPM) are proposed. In the design procedure, the permanent magnet is designed first and the windings and capacitors are designed later. As well, the points of design of each design parameter are explained. In the design of the single-phase LSPM, the equivalent circuit method is combined with the finite element method (FEM) because it has a shorter analysis time than FEM. The 400 watts single-phase LSPM is designed and manufactured. The characteristics of the manufactured single-phase LSPM are analyzed and experimented. From the analysis result and the experiment result, it is verified that the design procedure and the design method of the single-phase LSPM is valid.

  • A problem that arises in most communication receivers concerns the wide variation in power level of the signals received at the antenna. These variations cause serious problems which can usually be solved in receiver design by using Automatic Gain Control (AGC). AGC is achieved by using an amplifier whose gain can be controlled by external current or voltage. However, the AGC circuit does not respond to rapid changes in the amplitude of input. If input changes instantaneously, then even if op-amps could follow the change, the envelope detector capacitor could not, since the capacitor's voltage could not change instantaneously. To alleviate this deficiency, we present Improved Automatic Gain Control Circuit (IAGCC) replacing AGC circuit to FLC.

  • Canonical Chua's circuit is a simple electronic circuit which exhibits a variety of bifurcation phenomena and attractors. It consists of two capacitors, an inductor, two linear resistors, and a nonlinear resistor. When the circuit exhibits chaotic signals, the nonlinear resistor of canonical Chua's circuit may have three different voltage - current characteristics. In this paper, the design methodology for practical implementation of the nonlinear resistors which have all these characteristics is described. In addition, the effectiveness of result is shown by not only the MATLAB simulation but also the PSPICE simulation.

  • The control part of one-chip microcomputer has been designed with the 3um design rule for CMOS poly silicon gate and Its cells were layed out. The operation of the logic circuits were simulated with EDAS_P. The widths and lengths of circuit were determined by using PSPICE. The control part of microcomputer has designed by using hardwired methode. Results of logic simulation and circuit simulation are in good agreements with expected circuit characteristics.
