  • Electronic speckle contouring(ESC) based on electronic speckle pattern interferometry is the optical method for measuring object shape by using fringe-projection techniques. This method has the advantages of being non-contact, non-destructive and a whole-field measurement of the surface under investigation. Fringes in ESC represent the difference in depth along the view direction between the master wavefront and the test component. The contour maps of three-dimensional diffuse objects can be obtained by small shifts of optical fiber carrying the dual-object-beams and 4-frame phase shifting. In this study we proposed the contouring method by shifting the collimated illumination beams through optical fiber in order to obtain the contour fringe patterns. And also, we performed the addition of incremental images through the geometrical analysis to obtain the contour fringe interval when we performed the incremental addition of images and experiments based on this method. We obtained both quantitative increment without decorrelation effect and qualitative improvement by reducing the noise of contour fringes.

  • One of the most important performance criteria in tuning the gain of position loop controller for CNC machining center is the contour error. In this papre we analyze contour error in the linear and circular interpolations for the axis-matched and mismatched cases. To have small contour errors, it is necessary to set the P gain for each axis to be same. And the D gain should be much smaller than the P gain. Baded on the analysis in the frequency domain, we propose a gain tuning method for the P and PD controllers. We show that the PD controller is better than the P controller. The effectiveness of this method is demonstrated by experiments.

  • A total stroke of an opening or closing motion of a hinge mechanism for a folder-type mobile phone is composed of two portions. In the first portion, human fingers act a torque to open or close the folder. In this portion, the rotating folder compresses the coil spring installed in the hinge mechanism. In the last portion, this compressed coil spring generates a torque to rotate the folder. In this study, we have developed an algorithm to design a hinge mechanism to be operated by an arbitrary continuous torque in the first portion of the total stroke. Consequently, we can design hinge mechanisms that satisfy various demands of consumers. A pair of contours installed in the mechanism plays an important role. It transforms the folder's rotational motion into translation to compress the coil spring in the first portion; on the other hand, it transforms translational motion into the folder's rotation in the last portion. Using this algorithm we have designed the pair of the contour curves operated by an arbitrary continuous torque.

  • In this Paper, we propose an optimized method of hardware design based on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) to detect rotated angle of high definition image about Extreme Contour Point (ECP) algorithm with moving video image could be not happened to translation motion, but also physical rotation motion. It was evaluated by XC7Z020 xc7z020-3clg400 FPGA board by using xilinx 14.2 tool. The much well-known method, the Coordinate Rotation Digital Integrated Computation (CORDIC) is an algorithm to estimate rotated angle between point and point. Through the result both ECP and CORDIC, our proposed design are confirmed to have similar operating speed of about 4ns with CORDIC. However, it is verified to have high performance result in terms of the hardware cost, is much better than CORDIC with cost reduction of registers and Look Up Tables (LUTs) of 108% and 91%, respectively.

  • In this clinical report, a simple and convenient conversion of a fractured metal-ceramic surveyed crown into a complete contour zirconia surveyed crown by using computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing technology for an existing partial removable dental prosthesis is described. The duplication of the original contours, morphology, and the rest seat of the existing metal-ceramic surveyed crown, into a complete contour zirconia surveyed crown under anticancer treatments were reported.

  • In order to acquire high-speed and high-precision performances in servomechanisms, an integrated design method have been proposed. Based on strict mathematical modeling and analysis of system performance according to design and operating parameters, a nonlinear constrained optimization problem including the relevant subsystem parameters of the servomechanism is formulated. Optimum design results of mechanical and electrical parameters are obtained according to the design parameters specified by designers through the integrated design processes. Motors are optimally selected from the servo motor database. Both the geometric errors referring to Abbe offset and the contour errors are minimized while required constraints such as stability conditions and saturated conditions are satisfied. This design methodology both offers the improved possibility to evaluate and optimize the dynamic motion performance of the servomechanism and improves the quality of the design process to achieve the required performance for high-speed/precision servomechanisms.

  • It takes long time in numerical simulation because structural design for tire requires the nonlinear material property. Neural networks has been widely studied to engineering design to reduce numerical computation time. The numbers of hidden layer, hidden layer neuron and training data have been considered as the structural design variables of neural networks. In application of neural networks to optimize design, there are a few studies about arrangement method of input layer neurons. To investigate the effect of input layer neuron arrangement on neural networks, the variables of tire contour design and tension in bead area were assigned to inputs and output for neural networks respectively. Design variables arrangement in input layer were determined by main effect analysis. • A design factor analysis was conducted to reduce the thrust reduction in the off-design, due to the driving of the aerospike pintle nozzle. The close (NPR 100) as well as the open (NPR 11) stroke were fixed, as under-expansion conditions. The pintle contour, pintle head radius (R), cowl angle (θ), and cowl exit length (L) were selected as design factors. The change in thrust was analyzed, using a verified numerical analysis technique. First, the pintle head radius and the length of the cowl exit had little influence on the thrust. The cowl angle changed the mass flow rate by affecting the effective nozzle throat area, and created a reverse pressure gradient at the cowl exit. As a result of applying the dual aerospike contour, it was confirmed that the thrust in the design-off increased by approximately 1.2%, compared to the reference case and by approximately 3.4% compared to the worst case.
