The Ritz method is known as very successful strategy for discretizing continuous problems, but it has never been used for solving systems of algebraic equations. The Iterated Ritz Method (IRM) is a novel iterative solver based on the discretized Ritz procedure applied at each iteration step. With an appropriate choice of coordinate vectors, the method may be efficient in linear, nonlinear and optimization problems. Additionally, some iterative methods can be explained as special cases of this approach, which helps to understand advantages and limitations of these methods and gives motivation for their improvement in sense of IRM. In this paper, some ideas for generation of efficient coordinate vectors are presented. The algorithm was developed and tested independently and then implemented into the open source program FEAP. Method has been successfully applied to displacement based (even ill-conditioned) models of structural engineering practice. With this original approach, a new iterative solution strategy has been opened.

This study aims to develop explicit models to investigate thermo-mechanical interactions in moving nanobeams. These models aim to capture the small-scale effects that arise in continuous mechanical systems. Assumptions are made based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam concept and the fractional Zener beam-matter model. The viscoelastic material law can be formulated using the fractional Caputo derivative. The non-local Eringen model and the two-phase delayed heat transfer theory are also taken into account. By comparing the numerical results to those obtained using conventional heat transfer models, it becomes evident that non-localization, fractional derivatives and dual-phase delays influence the magnitude of thermally induced physical fields. The results validate the significant role of the damping coefficient in the system's stability, which is further dependent on the values of relaxation stiffness and fractional order.

In this paper, we proposed an efficient algorithm based on SPFA(shortest path faster algorithm), which is an improved the Bellman-Ford algorithm. The Bellman-Ford algorithm can be used on graphs with negative edge weights unlike Dijkstra's algorithm. And SPFA algorithm used a queue to store the nodes, to avoid redundancy, though the Bellman-Ford algorithm takes a long time to update the nodes table. In this improved algorithm, an adjacency list is also used to store each vertex of the graph, applying dynamic optimal approach. And a queue is used to store the data. The improved algorithm can find the optimal path by continuous relaxation operation to the new node. Simulations to compare the efficiencies for Dijkstra's algorithm, SPFA algorithm and improved Bellman-Ford were taken. The result shows that Dijkstra's algorithm, SPFA algorithm have almost same efficiency on the random graphs, the improved algorithm, although the improved algorithm is not desirable, on grid maps the proposed algorithm is very efficient. The proposed algorithm has reduced two-third times processing time than SPFA algorithm.

Slotted coaxial cables are used for a wide variety of radio communications and control applications within buildings, subways, tunnels and outdoors. They function as continuous antennas to solve RF coverage problems in difficult or confined areas. In this paper the electric and magnetic field distributions inside and outside of axially slotted coaxial cables are analyzed numerically. This paper gets the fields from the equivalent potentials which are obtained by grid relaxation method. The slot electric field configurations are consistent with Essam E. Hassan's results. The field distributions in the slotted coaxial cables show that the TEM mode doesn't propagate any longer in them. But the fields don't variate with the frequencies that are under the first higher order mode cutoff frequency of shielded coaxial cable of the same dimension The fields inside of the tunnel ($3\times4$) including the slotted coaxial cable axially are similar to those of $TE_{10}$ mode at 38.75 MHz. This method offers the basis for theoretical analysis of coaxial cables with nonuniform slots as well as coaxial cables in tunnels and buildings.
Objective: The aim of this study is to consider the effect of skin tissue necrosis by improving blood flow in animal skin models for low frequency pulsed electromagnetic fields (LF_PEMF) stimulation. Methods: Twenty rats (Wistar EPM-1 male, 280-320 g) were randomly divided into control groups (n=10) and the PEMF groups (n=10). To induce necrosis of the skin tissue, skin flap was treated in the back of the rat, followed by isolation film and skin flap suturing. Subsequently, the degree of necrosis of the skin tissue was observed for 7 days. The control group did not perform any stimulation after the procedure. For the PEMF group, LF_PEMF (1 Hz, 10 mT) was stimulated in the skin flap area, for 30 minutes a day and 7 days. Cross-polarization images were acquired at the site and skin tissue necrosis patterns were analyzed. Results: In the control group, skin tissue necrosis progressed rapidly over time. In the PEMF group, skin tissue necrosis was slower than the control group. In particular, no further skin tissue necrosis progress on the day 6. Over time, a statistically significant difference from the continuous necrosis progression pattern in the control group was identified (p<0.05). Conclusions: It was confirmed that low frequency pulsed electromagnetic fields (LF_PEMF) stimulation can induce relaxation of skin tissue necrosis.
Purpose : A precise NMR technique for measuring the rate of water exchange and cell membrane permeability across the hepatocyte membrane using liver-specific MR contrast agent is described. Materials and Methods : The rat hepatocytes isolated by perfusion of the livers were used for the NMR measurements. All experiments were performed on an IBM field cycling relaxometer operating from 0.02MHz to 60 MHz proton Larmor frequency. spin-echo pulse sequence was empolyed to measure spin-lattice relaxation time, T1. The continuous distribution analysis of water proton T1 data from rat hepatocytes containing low concentrations of the liver specific contrast agent, Gd-EOB-DTPA, modeled by a general two compartment exchange model. Results : The mean residence time of water molecule inside the hepatocyte was approximately 250 msec. The lower limit for the permeability of the hepatocyte membrane was $(1.3{\pm}0.1){\;}{\times}{\;}10^{-3}cm/sec$. The CONTIN analysis, which seeks the natural distribution of relaxation times, reveals direct evidence of the effect of diffusive exchange. the diffusive water exchange is not small in the intracellular space in the case of hepatocytes. Conclusions : Gd-EOB-DTPA, when combined with continuous distribution analysis, provides a robust method to study water exchange and membrane permeability in hepatocytes. Water exchange in hepatocyte is much slower thatn that in red blood cells. Therefore, tissue-specific contrast agent may be used as a functional agent to give physiological information such as cell membrane permeability.

Combined MRI and Relaxogram approach was introduced as a very useful tool for fat study. The phantoms simulating homogeneous mixture of fat and non-fat environments were measured with spin echo pulse sequence on a 0.15 T whole body imager. From 45 scans, the Tl values were obtained by fitting the data to continuous distribution (CONTIN) of relaxation time. This relaxogram gives broad distributions of relaxation time, which are characterized by a number of peaks with characteristic T1 values. Two distinct peaks in relaxogram were observed and identified as signals from com oil and gelatin gel. This model system can be served as simulating the distribution of fat in muscle. Also the relative ratio of two components, which is proportional to the area under the peak, is estimated and compared to nominal values. Based on the good agreement between two predictions, the values from our proposed method agreed with nominal values within $\pm$7 % error. The effects of different concentration of contrast agent and different region of interest are presented. To optimize total scan times, the minimum required data points and so further reduction in total scan times are discussed.
The nature of surface deformation of Tono granite was investigated using a confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM) under water-saturated stress relaxation conditions. A new apparatus was developed for this experiment, enabling continuous measurements of stress-strain and simultaneous observations of surface deformation by CLSM. The amounts of grain contact deformation and intra-granular surface deformation were calculated using a finite element method. The results reveal that intense grain contact deformation and intra-granular surface deformation occurred during the period of stress relaxation, and that the intensity of this deformation increased with increasing applied stress. Finite element method (FEM) results show that the strain of grain boundary was greater than strain of inter-granular surface. Contour maps of these local strains were compiled for individual grains and their boundaries, revealing intense deformation at the boundaries between biotite and quartz under compressional stress. This result was a consequence of the mechano-chemical effect of biotite and quartz minerals. Biotite in granite has a layered structure of iron-magnesium-aluminum silicate sheets that are weakly bonded together by layers of potassium ions. In contrast, quartz occurs as stable spherical grains.
