  • Modern users are intensifying their use of online services every day. In addition, hackers are attempting to execute advanced attacks to steal personal information protected using existing authentication technologies. However, existing authentication methods require an explicit authentication procedure for the user, and do not conduct identity verification in the middle of the authentication session. In this paper, we introduce an implicit continuous authentication technology to overcome the limitations of existing authentication technology. Implicit continuous authentication is a technique for continuously authenticating users without explicit intervention by utilizing their behavioral and environmental information. This can improve the level of security by verifying the user's identity during the authentication session without the burden of an explicit authentication procedure. In addition, we briefly introduce the definition, key features, applicable algorithms, and recent research trends for various authentication technologies that can be used as an implicit continuous authentication technology.

  • In this paper, we proposed a new authentication method using video that was taken during moving a hand-held camera in front of the face. The proposed method extracted individuality from the obtained image sequences using the parametric eigenspace scheme. Changes of facial appearance through authentication trials draw continuous tracks in the low dimensional igenspace. The similarity between their continuous tracks are calculated by DP-matching to verify their identities. Experimental results confirmed that different motions and persons change the shapes of continuous tracks, so the proposed method could identify the person.

  • This paper addresses the issue of continuous user authentication within the metaverse environment. Recently, the metaverse plays a vital role in personal interaction, entertainment, education, and business, bringing forth significant security concerns. Particularly, vulnerabilities related to user identity verification have emerged as a major issue. This research proposes a novel method to verify identities by analyzing users' character movements in the metaverse through a pose estimation model. This method uses only video data for authentication, allowing flexibility in limited environments, and investigates how character movements contribute to user identification through various experiments. Furthermore, it explores the potential for extending this approach to other digital platforms. This research is expected to significantly contribute to enhancing security and innovating user identity verification methods in the metaverse environment.

  • The growth in smartphone service has given rise to an increase in frequency and importance of authentication. Existing smartphone authentication mechanisms such as passwords, pattern lock and fingerprint recognition require a high level of awareness and authenticate users temporarily with a point-of-entry techniques. To overcome these disadvantages, there have been active researches in behavior-based authentication. However, previous studies focused on enhancing the accuracy of the authentication. Since authentication is directly used by people, it is necessary to reflect actual users' perception. This paper proposes user perception on behavior-based authentication with feature analysis. We conduct user survey to empirically understand user perception regarding behavioral authentication with selected authentication features. Then, we analyze acceptance of the behavioral authentication to provide continuous authentication with minimal awareness while using the device.

  • The increase in user data stored in the device implies the increase in threats of users' sensitive data. Currently, smartphone authentication mechanisms such as Pattern Lock, fingerprint recognition are widely used. Although, there exist disadvantages of inconvenience use and dependence that users need to depend on their own memory. User behavior based authentication mechanism have advantages of high convenience by offering continuous authentication when using the mobile device. However, these mechanisms show limitations on low accuracy of authentication and there are researches to improve the accuracy. This paper proposes improved authentication mechanism that uses user's smartphone application usage pattern which has not considered on earlier studies. Also, we analyze performance of proposed mechanism with collected datasets from actual use of smartphone applications.

  • For effectively lowering down the risk of cyber threating, the zero-trust architecture (ZTA) has been gradually deployed to the fields of smart city, Internet of Things, and cloud computing. The main concept of ZTA is to maintain a distrustful attitude towards all devices, identities, and communication requests, which only offering the minimum access and validity. Unfortunately, adopting the most secure and complex multifactor authentication has brought enterprise and employee a troublesome and unfriendly burden. Thus, authors aim to incorporate machine learning technology to build an employee behavior analysis ZTA. The new framework is characterized by the ability of adjusting the difficulty of identity verification through the user behavioral patterns and the risk degree of the resource. In particular, three key factors, including one-time password, face feature, and authorization code, have been applied to design the adaptive multifactor continuous authentication system. Simulations have demonstrated that the new work can eliminate the necessity of maintaining a heavy authentication and ensure an employee-friendly experience.

  • The demanding in construction of the stand-alone networks and interconnection between convergence devices have led an increase in research on MANET and the application of MANET has been paid much attention as a Ubiquitous computing which is growing fast in the field of computer science. With performance both as hosts and routers, easy network configuration, and fast response, mobile nodes participating in MANET are suitable for Embedded computing but have vulnerable points, about lack of dynamic network topology due to mobility, network scalability, passive attacks, and active attacks which make it impossible to manage continuous security authentication service. In this study, proposes S-EKE authentication mechanism for a robust authentication based on MANET and through identify wireless environment security vulnerabilities, currently being used in OTP S/Key and DH-EKE analyzes.

  • In order to block the access of the information in the smartphone of a user by other users, it is checked if the current user is the owner or not in the smartphone authentication process, whenever a user begins to use a smartphone. This makes smartphone users in front of frequent smartphone authentications, which leads significant inconvenience to them. Because of such inconvenience, users tend not to use the smartphone authentication anymore. Finally, their smartphones become very vulnerable against malicious access. This paper proposes a progressive authentication method on the android-platform in order to solve the problem described above. With the proposed method, smartphones can identify relevant risks based on users' past experiences and determine whether an authentication is needed. Because authentication occurs only when the identified risk level is high, it can achieve both a high-level of security in the high-level risk situation and user convenience in the low-level risk situation.

  • While an information system and administration for an application that a user contacts with raise a head by an important problem, a system approach and methodology for administration are mentioned. Authentication technology of various configuration is used, but non-efficiency by complicated authentication administration and operation inappropriate use are for a successful expansion of various and new business of wire/wireless environment. In addition, under the mobile computer environment with different authentic method each other, it is difficult at all to expect flexible and continuous service. Under the ubiquitous computing environment, It is very important thing plan to research and develop compatibility and the side of variance authentication plan that preservation characteristics are helped. Hereby, This paper look around an requirement items and authority mechanism for the administration and the operation mechanism of the distributed authentication considering expansion possibility of the ubiquitous computing environment not only fixed computing environment but also mobile computing. In future, we expect it by can guide positive participation about distributed authentication technique of the genuine ubiquitous environment.
