자연에 대한 미적 인식과 환경미학 (The Aesthetic Cognition of Nature and the Environmental Aesthetics)

  • It seems to be difficult to bridge between human and nature. All depictions of nature are not necessarily reflections of reality. Thoughts are projected into nature, then nature will reflect us. The world is composed of natural and cultural environment. There are differences between depiction of nature based on correspondence and construction of world. Environmental aesthetics is an emerging field of study that focuses on nature's aesthetic value as well as on its ethical and environmental implications. Allen Carlson, a pioneer in environmental aesthetics, provides challenges as well as a wealth of resources for those who would appropriate his ideas in the service of environmental protection. Carlson's positive aesthetics, his focus on the functionality of human environments, and his integration of aesthetics and ethics have great import for those seeking to use aesthetics to assist in addressing environmental controversies. Environmental ethics would benefit from taking environmental aesthetics more seriously. Environmental aesthetics is an emerging discipline that explores the meaning and influence of environmental perception and experience on human life. Arguing for the idea that environment is not merely a setting for people but fully integrated and continuous with us, Arnold Berleant explores the aesthetic dimensions of the human-environment continuum in both theoretical terms and concrete situations. Aesthetic experience is always contextual. The aesthetic aspect of any human habitat is an essential part of its desirability. The aesthetic perception of environment shows us the reciprocity that constitutes both person and place. The genuine beauty lies in the coexistence and harmony with natural environment.

경량 온톨로지 생성 연구 (A Study for the Generation of the Lightweight Ontologies)

  • This paper illustrates the application of co-occurrence theory to generate lightweight ontologies semi-automatically. The proposed model includes three steps of a (Semi-) Automatic creation of Ontology; (they are conceptually named as) the Syntactic-based Ontology, the Semantic-based Ontology and the Ontology Refinement. Each of these three steps are designed to interactively work together, so as to generate Lightweight Ontologies. The Syntactic-based Ontology step includes generating Association words using co-occurrence in web documents. The Semantic-based Ontology step includes the Alignment large Association words with small Ontology, through the process of semantic relations by contextual terms. Finally, the Ontology Refinement step includes the domain expert to refine the lightweight Ontologies. We also conducted a case study to generate lightweight ontologies in specific domains(news domain). In this paper, we found two directions including (1) employment co-occurrence theory to generate Syntactic-based Ontology automatically and (2) Alignment large Association words with small Ontology to generate lightweight ontologies semi-automatically. So far as the design and the generation of big Ontology is concerned, the proposed research will offer useful implications to the researchers and practitioners so as to improve the research level to the commercial use.

유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서의 온톨로지 기반 상황 인식 미들웨어 (Context-Aware Middleware based on Ontology in Ubiquitous Computing Environment)

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 상황 인식 기반의 서비스를 제공하기 위해선 동적인 상황 관리 기술과 상황 추론 기술, 그리고 상황 모델링 기술이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 상황 변화에 대한 사용자의 요구사항을 능동적으로 반영하고, 동적인 응용 적응성을 지원하는 계층적 온톨로지 기반 상황 관리 모델을 제안하고 이를 기반으로 상황 인식 미들웨어를 설계한다. 또한, 상황 인식 서비스 구현을 위해 다양한 컨텍스트 발견, 획득, 해석, 추론을 효과적으로 지원하며 사용자의 서비스 실행 시 발생할 수 있는 상황 충돌을 해결하기 위한 방법을 제시한다. 이 논문에서 제시한 계층적 온톨로지 기반 상황 인식 미들웨어는 유비쿼터스 환경에서 요구되는 다양한 상황 인식 서비스의 개발 및 운용을 효과적으로 지원 할 수 있다.

Global Changing of Consumer Behavior to Retail Distribution due to Pandemic of COVID-19: A Systematic Review

  • Purpose: Consumers have unique behaviors that are classified based on their interests and considerations before buying. They are predicted will change due to the pandemic of COVID-19. This study provides insights for retailers about the dynamic of consumer behavior before and during the pandemic, including future predictions. Research design, data and methodology: The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) statement was applied in this study. Seven studies that were selected from five databases meet the criteria for cohort and cross-sectional analyses of gender, age, store types, and environmental concerns. Results: Consumer's gender and age contribute to consumer behavior change. Both offline and online stores can be integrated as omnichannel rather than substitute each other. Product distribution and consumer budget need to be reevaluated by retailers, while internet security is the most essential factor when developing their online transactions. Conclusions: COVID-19 pandemic has a significant impact on changing consumer behavior in most countries. Retailers are encouraged to adapt to the changes by modifying their business model with technology. However, it is still speculated and cannot be generalized due to different cultural and contextual factors. Future studies are always needed to synchronize along with the transition of consumers' behavior.

비인격적 감독의 국내 연구 동향과 향후 방향성: 선행요인과 결과변수를 중심으로 (Abusive Supervision: Domestic Research Trends and Future Research Directions: Focusing on Antecedents and Outcome Variables)

  • Purpose - This study reviewed domestic empirical studies on abusive supervision published from 2009 to 2020 and summarized the accumulated results. In particular, this study classified previous studies on abusive supervision as antecedents (supervisor characteristics, subordinate characteristics, and contextual factors) and outcome variables (cognition/awareness, affection/emotion, attitude, behavior, and others). Based on the results, this study suggested potential issues of previous studies and future directions for abusive supervision. In addition, this study proposed the academic and practical implications and limitations. Design/methodology/approach - The domestic studies on abusive supervision can be divided into antecedents and outcome variables, and each study was organized into the characteristics of the supervisor, subordinate, and situational characteristics, and the resultant variables were divided into cognition/awareness, affection/emotion, attitude, behavior, and others. Finding - Prior studies on abusive supervision had several limitations in obtaining clear results with individual characteristics or fragmented approaches at the organizational level. In the future, more comprehensive approaches will be needed. Research implications or Originality - This study will provide academic and practical implications for future research on abusive supervision by deepening an understanding of the negative consequences of abusive supervision.

Updating BIM: Reflecting Thermographic Sensing in BIM-based Building Energy Analysis

  • This paper presents an automated computer vision-based system to update BIM data by leveraging multi-modal visual data collected from existing buildings under inspection. Currently, visual inspections are conducted for building envelopes or mechanical systems, and auditors analyze energy-related contextual information to examine if their performance is maintained as expected by the design. By translating 3D surface thermal profiles into energy performance metrics such as actual R-values at point-level and by mapping such properties to the associated BIM elements using XML Document Object Model (DOM), the proposed method shortens the energy performance modeling gap between the architectural information in the as-designed BIM and the as-is building condition, which improve the reliability of building energy analysis. The experimental results on existing buildings show that (1) the point-level thermography-based thermal resistance measurement can be automatically matched with the associated BIM elements; and (2) their corresponding thermal properties are automatically updated in gbXML schema. This paper provides practitioners with insight to uncover the fundamentals of how multi-modal visual data can be used to improve the accuracy of building energy modeling for retrofit analysis. Open research challenges and lessons learned from real-world case studies are discussed in detail.

  • 최근 IT 기술의 발전과 더불어 다양한 종류의 컴퓨터가 사람, 사물, 환경 속으로 스며들어 네트워크 망을 이루는 USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) 환경이 급속히 보급되고 있다. USN 환경에서 수집되는 센서 스트림 데이터는 연속적이며 동적으로 끊임없이 전달이 되기 때문에 그 양이 방대하며 또한 제한된 메모리를 사용하기 때문에 모든 데이터를 저장하여 처리할 수는 없게 된다. 스트림 데이터의 이러한 특성 때문에 본 논문에서는 입력되는 스트림 상황정보에 대해서 신속한 상황 분석 서비스를 진행하기 위하여 슬라이딩 윈도우 기법을 지원하는 상황정보 분석 시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템은 온도, 습도, 조도 등 스트림 데이터에 대해서 WHEN-DO 상황질의모델을 적용하여 상황질의모델의 조건 만족 여부를 판단하고 특정 행동을 취한다. 따라서 본 논문에서 제안한 시스템은 실시간 건물의 상황정보를 수집하여 상태를 모니터링 하는 등 많은 USN 응용분야에 적용이 가능하다.

체험 기반 커뮤니케이션 및 상황 기반 커뮤니케이션 구성요소를 적용한 챗봇 이용의도 영향요인 (Influence Factors of Use Intention of Chatbot by Applying Components of Experience-based Communication and Context-based Communication)

  • 본 연구에서는 챗봇의 개별적 체험, 공유적 체험, 유비쿼터스 접속성, 상황적 유용성이 챗봇의 지각된 가치와 챗봇 이용의도에 미치는 영향관계를 파악하기 위하여, Burnd H. Schmitt의 체험이론 측면에서의 체험 기반 커뮤니케이션 구성요소와 메신저 플랫폼 환경에서의 상황 기반 커뮤니케이션 구성요소를 적용하여 시나리오 기반 설문지법을 이용하였다. 이를 통해 다양한 서비스산업 분야의 기업에게 챗봇 이용을 더욱 활성화할 수 있는 실무적 접근방안을 제공하고자 한다. 본 연구의 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 여전히 대부분의 챗봇은 그것을 디자인하는 인간의 기획수준을 넘지 못하고 있으므로 챗봇 개발 시 개별적 체험요소를 어떻게 고객의 발화의도에 맞추어 기능적으로 설계할 것인지에 대한 고려가 필요하다. 둘째, 챗봇이 언제 어디서나 실시간으로 특정 과업을 완수하려는 관점만이 아니라 고객이 속한 상황을 포함하여 상호작용의 질적 특성을 높이려는 총체적 관점에서 설계되어야 한다. 셋째, 챗봇은 사용자에 의해 의인화되기 마련이므로 챗봇 개발 시 챗봇의 '페르소나'와 '톤 앤 매너'를 결정하는 것에도 신중해야 한다. 챗봇 개발의 성공여부를 가늠하는 가장 중요한 기준은 고객만족이다. 다시 말해 인공지능 알고리즘의 품질보다는 기획과 데이터의 품질이 챗봇의 활용도를 좌우한다. 기업이 챗봇과의 상호작용을 인간과의 상호작용과 최대한 유사하게 만들기 위하여 노력하는 이유다.

전거레코드 구축 및 공유에 관한 연구 SNAC 프로젝트 사례를 중심으로 (A research on the Construction and Sharing of Authority Record-focusing on the Case of Social Networks and Archival Context Project)

  • 본 연구는 전거레코드 구축 및 공유를 위한 목적으로 진행된 'Social Networks and Archival Context' 프로젝트 사례를 통해 문화유산기관 간에 분산 소장된 역사적 정보원에 대한 통합적 접근과 기록에 대한 보다 풍부한 검색과 이해를 촉진하는 국가적 전거데이터베이스 구축의 필요성과 국내 적용 방안을 제시하였다. SNAC 프로젝트는 NARA 주도의 국제적 협력체 조직으로 전환되면서 지속가능한 운영체계를 확보하고 협력적 전거통제를 실현할 수 있었다. 또한 SNAC 전거레코드는 도서관에 비해 풍부한 생애와 역사에 관한 맥락 정보와 사회적·지적 네트워크 정보를 제공한다는 특징을 가진다. 사례분석을 통해 첫째, SNAC 처럼, 국가기록원이 주도하고 국립중앙도서관이 공동 오너쉽을 갖는 협력체가 개발을 주도하고 참여기관의 범위를 넓혀나가야 한다. 둘째, 협력의 방식에서 특장점을 가진 분야별로 분담하는 구조를 취하되, 두 기관이 참여하는 운영 주체가 주요한 의사결정을 하도록 한다. 셋째, 전거데이터 구축 시 다양한 포맷의 기술정보를 수집할 수 있는 확장가능한 오픈소스소프트웨어 개발, 기록관리 전거레코드의 구조와 요소로 설계, 전거레코드의 품질을 통제할 수 있는 기능 설계, 이용자 친화적 인터페이스 구축 및 콘텐츠적 요소가 반영된 플랫폼 설계가 필요함을 제시하였다.

Applying the Multiple Cue Probability Learning to Consumer Learning

  • In the present study, we apply the multiple cue probability learning (MCPL) paradigm to examine consumer learning from feedback in repeated trials. This paradigm is useful in investigating consumer learning, especially learning the relationships between the overall quality and attributes. With this paradigm, we can analyze what people learn from repeated trials by using the lens model, i.e., whether it is knowledge or consistency. In addition to introducing this paradigm, we aim to demonstrate that knowledge people gain from repeated trials with feedback is robust enough to weaken one of the most often examined contextual effects, the asymmetric dominance effect. The experiment consists of learning session and a choice task and stimuli are sport rafting boats with motor engines. During the learning session, the participants are shown an option with three attributes and are asked to evaluate its overall quality and type in a number between 0 and 100. Then an expert's evaluation, a number between 0 and 100, is provided as feedback. This trial is repeated fifteen times with different sets of attributes, which comprises one learning session. Depending on the conditions, the participants do one (low) or three (high) learning sessions or do not go through any learning session (no learning). After learning session, the participants then are provided with either a core or an extended choice set to make a choice to examine if learning from feedback would weaken the asymmetric dominance effect. The experiment uses a between-subjects experimental design (2 × 3; core set vs. extended set; no vs. low vs. high learning). The results show that the participants evaluate the overall qualities more accurately with learning. They learn the true trade-off rule between attributes (increase in knowledge) and become more consistent in their evaluations. Regarding the choice task, there is a significant decrease in the percentage of choosing the target option in the extended sets with learning, which clearly demonstrates that learning decreases the magnitude of the asymmetric dominance effect. However, these results are significant only when no learning condition is compared either to low or high learning condition. There is no significant result between low and high learning conditions, which may be due to fatigue or reflect the characteristics of learning curve. The present study introduces the MCPL paradigm in examining consumer learning and demonstrates that learning from feedback increases both knowledge and consistency and weakens the asymmetric dominance effect. The latter result may suggest that the previous demonstrations of the asymmetric dominance effect are somewhat exaggerated. In a single choice setting, people do not have enough information or experience about the stimuli, which may lead them to depend mostly on the contextual structure among options. In the future, more realistic stimuli and real experts' judgments can be used to increase the external validity of study results. In addition, consumers often learn through repeated choices in real consumer settings. Therefore, what consumers learn from feedback in repeated choices would be an interesting topic to investigate.
