This study introduces novel research using Practice Context Models supported by Knowledge Networks and Percolation Theory with the aim to contribute to knowledge management in Proof-of-Concept (PoC) activities. The authors envision this proposal as a potential instrument to identify network structures based on a percolation (propagation) threshold and to analyze the importance of nodes (e.g., practitioners, practices, competencies, movements, and scenarios) during the percolation of knowledge in PoC activities. After thirty months immersed in the natural PoC habitat, acting as observers and practitioners, and supported by an ethnographic exercise and a designer-research mindset, the authors identified the production of meaning in PoC activities occurring in a hermeneutic circle characterized by the presence of several knowledge networks; thus, discovering the 'natural knowledge' in PoC as a spectrum of cognitive development spread throughout its network, as each node could produce and disseminate certain knowledge that flows and influences other nodes. Therefore, this research presents the use of Practice Context Models 'connected' to Knowledge Networks and Percolation Theory as a potential and feasible proposal to be built using the attribution of values (weights) to the nodes (e.g., practitioners, practices, competencies, movements, scenarios, and also knowledge) in the context of PoC with the aim to allow the players (e.g., PoC practitioners) to have more flexibility in building alliances with other players (new nodes); that is, focusing on those nodes with higher value (focus on quality) in collaboration networks, i.e., alliances (connections) with the aim to contribute to knowledge management in the context of PoC.

Environmental differences across countries such as socio-cultural, political, economic, and technological differences require business strategies of multinational corporations to vary business practices across regions. Despite the keen awareness of the necessity for strategic adaptation to local context, IS management and strategy tend to remain similar across countries. One of the reasons is to maintain the stability and compatibility of information technology infrastructure. After a careful observation of retail business practice, this study finds IS strategy should also be highly responsive to the local context. This study shows how information resources including systems architecture, processes, human resources, and national context are interlinked together. Despite global excellence in general systems management, failure in such alignment can be a serious problem in extending competitive advantages across regions. This study aims to reveal issues to be taken care of in order to accomplish global technological alignment. Results of this study provide senior management with guidelines and a framework for aligning IT with regional strategic thrust that can improve local responsiveness of multinational companies.

유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 사용자의 상환인식 서비스 구축은 일반 응용서비스와는 달리 사용자 요구를 만족시키기 위해 차별화된 처리를 요구한다. Context Toolkit은 상황인식 서비스 구축을 제공하는 프레임워크이며, 입출관리 시스템은 사용자의 위치인식과 방문자목록 가입을 토대로 서비스를 제공해주는 시스템이다. 본 논문에서는 사용자의 방문을 효과적으로 관리할 수 있는 방문관리를 위해 Context Toolkit을 기반으로 한 방문관리 시스템을 설계하고 적용한다.

Objective: The present study was to improve the graphic user interface (GUI) of a military computer-based training (CBT) system in terms of usability. Background: Existing studies have focused on usability evaluation of a particular GUI type such as sequence, hierarchy, or context type; however, few research has been conducted which identifies preferred GUI features based on a comparative analysis of different GUI types. Method: A comparative evaluation was conducted by 9 CBT design experts using a 7-point scale (1: very low, 4: neutral, and 7: very high) on hierarchy and context GUI types of a military CBT system in terms of 10 usability criteria. Then, preferred features of the hierarchy and context types being accommodated, a new GUI was developed and validated by 22 CBT users. Results: While the hierarchy type was found preferred by 1.6 times in terms of controllability to the context type, the opposite was found in terms of attractiveness, simplicity, and responsiveness by 0.6, 0.8, and 0.8 times, respectively. The proposed GUI was found superior to the hierarchy and context types in terms of accessibility and informativeness by more than 1.5 times, but inferior to the hierarchy and context type in terms of simplicity by 0.6 and 0.9 times, respectively. Conclusion: The new GUI developed by accommodating the preferred features of the hierarchy and context types improves usability in terms of accessibility and informativeness except simplicity. Application: The comparative analysis of various GUIs can be applied to develop an improved GUI in a systematic manner based on preferred features of the existing GUIs.

사용자의 의도와 주변 환경과 연관된 정보를 습득함으로서 사용자에게 최적의 서비스를 제공하기 위한 컨텍스트 인식은 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에 관련된 중요한 연구 중에 하나이다. 기존 연구는 컨텍스트-인식의 대상으로 사용자와 주변 환경으로 한정하고, 서비스를 제공하기 위하여 식별자 정보를 운영하는 서버나 센서를 연동한 센싱 기반의 미들웨어를 제시하고 있다. 사용자와 주변 환경으로 한정된 컨텍스트-인식서비스는 중복된 센싱과 불필요한 검색의 문제 및 사용자의 익명성 문제를 야기한다. 또한, 중앙 집중형의 컨텍스트-인식 시스템은 서비스의 관리와 운영을 위해 많은 비용 요구한다. 본 논문에서는 자생적 컨텍스트 서비스 모델을 제안하여 컨텍스트-인식 단계를 단순화하고, 사용자의 휴대용 디바이스에 컨텍스트-인식 정보를 분산 관리하는 미들웨어를 설계하여 기존 컨텍스트-인식 시스템의 관리 및 운영에서 발생하는 문제점을 최소화 한다.

스마트폰의 일정 관리 어플리케이션은 모바일 환경에서도 효과적인 사용자 인터페이스와 높은 사용자 접근성을 바탕으로 널리 사용되고 있다. 하지만 빈번히 변경되는 사용자의 상태나 위치 등의 상황 정보를 고려하지 않기 때문에 변화된 상황을 반영한 일정관리를 지원하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 사용자의 상황 정보를 수집하여 이에 따른 적합한 서비스를 능동적으로 제공하는 지능형 알림서비스를 제안한다. 또한 지능형 알림서비스를 기반으로, 스마트 일정 관리를 지원하는 스마트폰 어플리케이션을 개발한다. 지능형 알림서비스는 스마트폰의 GPS 센서를 이용하여, 위치나 일정 정보에 따른 사용자의 상태를 인지하고 변화된 정보를 바탕으로 사용자에게 능동적인 알림을 제공한다.

Trust management is one of the most challenging issues for the highly heterogeneous Internet of Things (IoT). In the context of the IoT, it is difficult to evaluate the node's trustworthiness in the same trust model when a node provides different services. Guaranteeing the availability of the trust management service is another significant challenge because of the dynamic nature of IoT environments. With these issues in mind, this paper propose a robust and adaptive trust management system for the IoT that is able to measure the trustworthiness of nodes based on feedbacks collected from participants in a specific context and ensure the availability of trust management services. The main contributions of our system are: 1) Proposing a partly decentralized trust management framework, which improves the resiliency of the trust mechanism; 2) Proposing an adaptive trust evaluation scheme and a three-dimensional context representation makes trust evaluation more accurate and specific; 3) Enhancing the adaptive trust evaluation scheme by incorporating a bad behavior factor in trust estimation, which efficiently distinguishes misleading feedbacks from On-Off attacks. Simulation results show the good performance of the proposed system and especially show effectiveness against On-Off attacks compared to other trust mechanisms.

유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서는 주변 환경에 의해 발생하는 방대한 컨택스트 정보에 대한 모델 정의와 컨택스트 인지를 통한 지능적인 서비스 제공을 위하여 컨택스트 정보 처리, 관리 및 추론과 관련한 연구가 필수적으로 요구된다. 그러나 현재 컨택스트 인지 분야에서는 고수준의 서비스 지원을 위한 온톨로지 특성을 효과적으로 반영한 모델링 기법이 부재하며, 지능적인 추론(응용, 조합)을 지원하는 기법 부재 및 컨택스트 정보간 상호운용성 지원의 한계를 가지고 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 최종 목표는 실세계에 존재하는 실체(entity)에 대한 상태를 특징화하고 정의하기 위한 방법으로 육하원칙을 적용한 온톨로지 기반의 컨택스트 인지 모델링 기법 컨택스트 인지를 위한 육하원칙 온톨로지를 개발하고 보다 양질의 지능화된 컨택스트 인지 서비스를 제공하기 위해 컨택스트 정보에 대한 관리 및 컨택스트 추론을 지원하는 프레임워크를 개발함에 있다.

유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 상황 인식 기반의 서비스를 제공하기 위해선 동적인 상황 관리 기술과 상황 추론 기술, 그리고 상황 모델링 기술이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 상황 변화에 대한 사용자의 요구사항을 능동적으로 반영하고, 동적인 응용 적응성을 지원하는 계층적 온톨로지 기반 상황 관리 모델을 제안하고 이를 기반으로 상황 인식 미들웨어를 설계한다. 또한, 상황 인식 서비스 구현을 위해 다양한 컨텍스트 발견, 획득, 해석, 추론을 효과적으로 지원하며 사용자의 서비스 실행 시 발생할 수 있는 상황 충돌을 해결하기 위한 방법을 제시한다. 이 논문에서 제시한 계층적 온톨로지 기반 상황 인식 미들웨어는 유비쿼터스 환경에서 요구되는 다양한 상황 인식 서비스의 개발 및 운용을 효과적으로 지원 할 수 있다.

The main purpose of the study is to determine the key aspects of Agile management as the basis of a management system in the context of globalization. The research methodology includes several scientific and theoretical methods that have achieved this goal. Adaptation of enterprises engaged in the development, production, and sale of innovative products to constant and rapid changes in the external environment requires managers to apply appropriate management methods. The use of Agile management in the management of innovation processes can speed up their implementation, minimize and optimize the use of resources, time, and effort of staff, can increase customer and customer satisfaction with the end result and, consequently, improve the company's competitive position in the market. The results of the study identified key aspects of the application of Agile management in the management system in the context of globalization.
