  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에 대한 연구의 일환으로 사용자의 상황이나 의도를 파악하여 최적의 서비스를 제공하는 방법에 대한 연구가 활성화되고 있다. 최근 이러한 연구의 일환으로 온톨로지를 이용한 상황인식 시스템이 제기되고 있는데, 이는 컨텍스트에 대한 다양한 표현력 및 뛰어난 확장성을 가지고 있기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 기존 연구에서 부족했던 컨텍스트의 정형화된 표현 및 다양한 도메인에 대한 확장성을 보완한 온톨로지 기반의 Context-awareness Framework 을 설계하였다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 Framework 은 하위 컨텍스트를 사전처리 및 Fuzzy 를 이용하여 상위 컨텍스트로 변환하며 이를 하나의 통합된 컨텍스트인 상황(Situation)으로 표현함으로써 추론 및 서비스를 유연하게 제공할 수 있다.

  • In this paper, we introduce visual contexts in terms of types and utilization methods for robust object recognition with intelligent mobile robots. One of the core technologies for intelligent robots is visual object recognition. Robust techniques are strongly required since there are many sources of visual variations such as geometric, photometric, and noise. For such requirements, we define spatial context, hierarchical context, and temporal context. According to object recognition domain, we can select such visual contexts. We also propose a unified framework which can utilize the whole contexts and validates it in real working environment. Finally, we also discuss the future research directions of object recognition technologies for intelligent robots.

  • Ubiquitous computing is a vision of our future computing lifestyle in which computer systems seamlessly integrate into our everyday lives, providing services and information in anywhere and anytime fashion. Augmented reality (AR) can naturally complement ubiquitous computing by providing an intuitive and collaborative visualization and simulation interface to a three-dimensional information space embedded within physical reality. This paper presents a service framework and its applications for providing context-aware u-car maintenance services using augmented reality, which can support a rich set of ubiquitous services and collaboration. It realizes bi-augmentation between physical and virtual spaces using augmented reality. It also offers a context processing module to acquire, interpret and disseminate context information. In particular, the context processing module considers user's preferences and security profile for providing private and customer-oriented services. The prototype system has been implemented to support 3D animation, TTS (Text-to-Speech), augmented manual, annotation, and pre- and post-augmentation services in ubiquitous car service environments.

  • 네트워크 환경과 컴퓨팅 기술이 발전하고 모바일 디바이스의 수가 증가함에 따라 상황 인식 서비스(Context-Aware Service)의 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 최근 몇 년 동안, 상황 인식 서비스(Context-Aware Service)를 실현하기 위한 여러 연구가 진행되었지만, 해결해야 할 문제점들이 남아있다. 기존의 접근 방법들은 상황에 적합한 서비스나 추천 알고리즘을 도입함에 있어서 특정 응용(Application)이나 영역(Domain)에 종속적이고 유연성이 떨어진다는 문제가 있다. 또한 온톨로지 추론 엔진에 서비스 제공을 위한 대부분의 정보 표현과 추론을 전가하기 때문에 실제 서비스에 활용할 수 있는 정도의 성능을 기대하기 어려우며 확장성(Scalability)이 떨어진다. 본 논문에서는 서비스 요청과 서비스 처리 계층으로 계층을 분리하고 두 계층에서의 온톨로지 추론 엔진과 관계형 데이터베이스의 역할을 명확히 정의함으로써 이와 같은 문제점들을 해결하는 실용적(Practical)인 상황 인식 서비스 전달 프레임워크(Context-Aware Service Delivery Framework)를 제시하고. 시나리오를 통해 서비스 프로세스를 설명한다. 제시된 프레임워크는 현재 프로토타입의 개발을 진행 중이다.

  • Recently AI(Artificial Intelligence) is one of the issues in the on-line game, a research that a game character seems to be realistic and is progressing using AI technique. Especially NPC is an important part of the AI researches of on-line game, and it is concerned by a game player and an architect. We proposed an intelligent agent framework to implement the NPC technique after studying the NPC technique using context awareness that reacts to the PC(Player Character) actively. Also, it can be developed gradually, and apply to various application because it has the capability to of adding an agent or deleting an agent easily.

  • MOnCa2 is a framework for building intelligent smartphone applications based on smartphone sensors and ontology reasoning. In previous studies, MOnCa determined and inferred user situations based on sensor values represented by ontology instances. When this approach is applied, recognizing user space information or objects in user surroundings is possible, whereas determining the user's physical context (travel behavior, travel destination) is impossible. In this paper, MOnCa2 is used to build recognition models for travel behavior and routes using smartphone sensors to analyze the user's physical context, infer basic context regarding the user's travel behavior and routes by adapting these models, and generate high-level context by applying ontology reasoning to the basic context for creating intelligent applications. This paper is focused on approaches that are able to recognize the user's travel behavior using smartphone accelerometers, predict personal routes and destinations using GPS signals, and infer high-level context by applying realization.

  • Ubiquitous Computing is required to define models for broad context information occurrence by surrounding environment and to study how to model a mechanism for selectively collecting useful pieces of context information and providing relevant intelligent services. Further, studies are also required as to process of context information, and its maintenance and reasoning. However, current context-aware research area still lacks modeling technique that reflects the characteristics of ontology effectively for providing relevant intelligent services. It has also limitation about context reasoning and interoperability among context information. Therefore, this paper proposes ontology-based context-aware modeling technique and framework enabling efficient specification of context information for providing intelligent context-aware services that support context management and reasoning.
