Conventional context-aware service models permit the access of resources only by user authentication, but the ubiquitous environments where the context information around users is changing frequently require the resource access control according to the rapid changes. This paper proposes a scheme to control access permission of resource dynamically as context information of user changes. Our access control model is based on traditional CASA (Context-Aware Security Architecture), but can restrict the access of the user already has been authorized. With the real-time checking of context information, our scheme gives different access controls according to changes in environmental information, and provides more secure services than conventional context-aware models.

Mobile communication is evolving toward next generation system that is capable to provide ubiquitous human-centric services with giving no restriction on time and location. In particular, context-awareness will be realized using various sensors and devices and related technologies under the ubiquitous Next Generation (NG) mobile communications environment where user's demand and surrounding context are changing dynamically. By such context awareness, context aware service which provides best suitable services for a user by analyzing user's needs and situational information, will be one of the promising NG mobile services. In this article, we propose NG mobile service environment with focusing on generic service traffic flows supported by the NG service platform which gives various means of connecting users and service providers. Then, we propose evolutional phases of context-aware services based on ranges of context information and evolutional trend of telecommunication technologies and networking environment in NG mobile service environment.

In recent years, there have been several researches applying workflow technologies for service automation on ubiquitous computing environments. However, most context-aware workflow languages have difficulties in supporting composite workflows composed of single workflows, because these languages are still in its early stage and they only provide single workflow services to their users. This paper introduces CAWL, which is a context-aware workflow language. CAWL is for describing individual service workflows to make integrated service workflows. By using CAWL, service developers are able to reuse existing workflows to develop new context-aware workflow services. Therefore, development efforts and time can be saved and workflow resusability also increased. CAWL is expected to make it easy to develop applications related to context-aware workflow services on ubiquitous computing environments.

Current DRM system has limitation in protection of user's privacy Therefore, many troubles are expected in service providing if it comes into the ubiquitous times of context-aware environment. HKUST Proposed a watermark-based web service DRM system. However, the relevant study does not consider ubiquitous environment and cannot provide service that considered a context. And privacy protection of a user is impossible. On the other hand, Netherlands Phillips laboratory indicated a privacy problem of a DRM system and they proposed an alternative method about this. However, in relevant study, a Sniffing/Replay attack is possible if communicated authentication information are exposed between a user and device. We designed web services adaptable privacy-aware DRM architecture which supplements these disadvantages. Our architecture can secure user authentication mechanism for sniffing/Replay attack and keep anonymity and protect privacy Therefore , we can implement the privacy-aware considered web service DRM system in Context-Aware environment.

In ubiquitous computing, invisible devices and software are connected to one another to provide convenient services to users [1][2]. Users hope to obtain a personalized service which is composed of customized devices among sharable devices in a ubiquitous smart space (which is called USS in this paper). However, the situations of each user are different and user preferences also are various. Although users request the same service in the same USS, the most suitable devices for composing the service are different for each user. For these user requirements, this paper proposes a device recommender system which infers and recommends customized devices for composing a user required service. The objective of this paper is the development of the systems for recommending devices through context-aware inference in peer-to-peer environments. For this goal, this paper considers the context and user preference. Also I implement a prototype system and test performance on the real ubiquitous mobile object (UMO).

It is essential to have Context-aware technology for personalization recommendation services and the appropriate representation and definition of Context information for context-aware. Ontology is possible to represent knowledge freely and knowledge can be extended by inferring. In addition, design of the ontology model is needed according to the purposes of utilization. This paper used context-aware technologies to implement a user personalization recommendation service. It also proposed the context through OWL modeling for user personalization recommendation service and used inference rules and inference engine for context reasoning.

Ubiquitous Computing 환경은 컴퓨터 중심의 환경이 아닌 사용자가 편리성과 효율성이 극대화된 서비스들을 제공 받을 수 있는 사용자 중심의 환경이다. 이러한 환경에서 사용자들은 자신의 정보가 언제 어디서 사용되고 있고 어떠한 목적으로 유출되고 있는지 알기 어렵다. 따라서 사용자를 식별하고 개인의 특성에 따라 관련된 서비스를 제공하는데 있어 사용자의 필요정보를 적절하게 보호할 수 있는 메커니즘이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 Ubiquitous환경에서 특정목적에 국한된 서비스 제공이 아닌 다양한 목적에 따라 서비스가 제공될 수 있도록 사용자의 목적과 상황에 맞는 User Model을 제안하고자 한다. 또한 사용자의 상황에 맞는 Context Content를 구별하여 Privacy등급을 결정하고 사용자마다 독립적이고 안전한 Context-Aware Service를 제공하는 User Model은 사용자마다 정해진 정적 Context와 상황에 따라 변화하는 동적 Context를 모두 고려하여 높은 신뢰성과 안전성을 지닌 방법을 제공한다. 그리고 제안된 User Model의 정의와 시나리오를 설명한다.

Context-Awareness is a important technology to support optimized services automatically by recognizing various context informations in ubiquitous environments. Previous middlewares which supports ubiquitous environments used a centralized storage and DBMS to store and manage context informations and service contents. Centralized management of context informations and service contents sometimes hinders the autonomy of moving node and interoperability between difference middlewares. In this paper, we design the systems which stores context informations in moving node by distributed form and shares service contents between middlewares in distributed ubiquitous environments. And it provides Context-Aware scripts to supports the definition of context informations reasoning and execution of services. It verifies the usefulness of the designed systems by applying the scenario of music playing service based on context awareness

차세대 비젼 컴퓨팅 환경인 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅(Ubiquitous Computing)환경에서는 사용자에 대한 상황(context)변화에 적응적(adaptive)으로 서비스 해줄 수 있는 응용이 필수적인 요소라고 할 수 있다. Service기반의 분산 네트워크인 JINI를 기반으로, 사용자에 대한 상황을 인식(context-aware)하기 위한 시스템 연구 역시 관심의 대상이라고 한 수 있겠다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 환경을 기반으로 사용자에 대한 행동, 감정상태, 위치와 같은 정보를 인식할 수 있으며, 검색을 통해 사용자의 위치정보, 활동형태 등의 context들을 질의 할 수 있는 Context-aware 챗팅 프로그램을 기술하고 있다. 또한 인터페이스를 사용하는 사용자들에 대한 context 데이터의 표현과 질의를 위해 메타언어인 eXtensible Makup Language (XML)을 사용하였다. 이러한 context-aware system은 편재형 컴퓨팅환경 하에서 사용자에게 유효한 context를 생성 및 관리, 응용 서비스에서 유용하게 이용할 수 있을 것이다.

In this paper, we introduce the general way for producing context information to support context-aware applications. It can fetch raw data from the service environments, translate it to reasonable context information, and provide to multiple applications. It is designed originally for the ubiquitous computing middleware and based on the ontology processing model. Automated service applications can use this system as the form of libraries or of web services for deciding its semantic cause of action.
