An Implementation and Analysis on the Effectiveness of SNS based Blended Learning System for Internet Ethics Education (인터넷 윤리교육을 위한 SNS 기반의 블렌디드 러닝 시스템 구현과 효과 분석)

  • The purpose of this paper was to design and implement effective learning model for internet ethics education, following the learning principle and procedure of PBL(Problem-Based Learning) which is one of the constructivism teaching-learning theories(, and to apply it). In this learning model, online learning and face-to-face classes were systematically combined for achieving the teaching-learning goals and the main module for online learning run on Moodle, an open source LMS(Learning Management System). It is possible for learner to participate actively in creation of micro-contents and reorganize contents using various SNS(Social Network Service). The learner can achieve the learner-oriented learning and select micro-contents in order to reorganize the personalized learning contents to take advantage of SNS among learners. To examine educational effectiveness of the proposed learning model, an experimental study was conducted through the education content and method to the subjects of two classes in the second-grade of university located in OO city. 60 students(treatment group=30, control group=30) participated in the experiment. The result statistically verified that the proposed learning method is more effective in cultivating consciousness of internet ethics than the face-to-face PBL learning method. The results of this paper also showed that a lecture using blended learning is efficient in achieving learning performance and that learners responded positively(, which are indicating that the higher effectiveness of learning would be expected) by forming connectedness among learners using SNS.   • The features of special brand eggs are growing more and more diverse and it is hard to draw a clear distinction between these and ordinary (no-brand) eggs. Special brand eggs range from those with objectively recognizable characteristics to those given only an unsubstantial product image and price differentials are among them great, too. The relation between product features and prices is unclear. Special brand eggs are the commodity whose characteristics are the vaguest of all livestock products. Farm's brand eggs produce a high profitability to producers is they are directly sold to consumers, by, for example, home-delivery service. But if they are sold to supermarkets, etc., producer's (poultry farmer's) income becomes lower by the amount of distributors' margin, reducing the profitability substantially. Thus how to increase the ration of retailing is important for farmers to secure a high profit. The sales strategies of poultry are the combination of two elements, that is, new product development (product differentiation) and creation of new market. But it is difficult for special brand egg producers to develop products with clear characteristics (use value) distinct form ordinary eggs and so these producers depend on the factors of appearance, such as the color of egg shells and package. Special brand eggs manage to keep their marketable value by the combination of the few product features and product image. Thus NB eggs from feed producers have a great market-ability since they can take advantage of the power of patents and TV commercials. However, market differentiation affects profitability much more than product features and price gaps are very wide between directly sold and wholesaled eggs. The producers of special brand eggs have come to the turning point where they have to decide whether they will content with being the subcontractors for NB and PB eggs or they will continue to keep their independence in production and marketing.

An Analysis of Candidates' Library-field Promise in the Local Election (지방선거 후보자들의 도서관분야 공약 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze whether the promises of library field were, what the promises of candidates were, and whether the content of the promises showed the dissimilar tendency or discrepancy. The starting point of this study was that the library-related issues should be raised in the local election in order that library-related problems in the local area were considered as the policy. The standpoint of this research was based on the notion the library-related problems could be settled if the candidates have an interest in the library field. The range of this research was limited in the election conducted in June 2. 2010. Candidates' promises were collected through a questionnaire, categorized and analyzed by subject. According to the result of analysis, the most candidates had interest in establishing of library infrastructure, on the other hand they had no interest in collection development, library policy, allocation of budget, and job creation for librarian.

  • We propose Cubical User Interface(CUI) for toy block composition in Augmented Reality. The creation of new object by composing virtual object is able to construct various AR contents effectively. However, existing GUI method requires learning time or is lacking of intuitiveness between act of user and offered interface. In case of AR interfaces, they mainly have been supported one handed operation and it did not consider composition property well. Therefore, the CUI provide tangible cube as the manipulation tool for virtual toy block composition in AR. The tangible cube which is attached multi-markers, magnets, and buttons supports free rotation, combination, and button input. Also, we propose two kinds of two-handed composing interactions based on CUI. First is Screw Driving(SD) method which is possible to free 3-D positioning and second is Block Assembly(BA) method which support visual guidance and is fast and intuitive. We expected that proposed interface can apply as the authoring system for content such as education, entertainment, Digilogbook.

  • As data broadcasting has become available, diverse contents can now be provided through digital TV, IPTV and DMB; yet it is true in the current situation that killer contents are insufficient that can satisfy users. On the contrary, in case of the web, with the advent of web 2.0 aiming at user-centered services, the contents market has grown greatly. The ideas and technologies of Web 2.0, if gratified into data broadcasting, are expected to make a contribution to the vitalization of contents. This paper proposes a method of using RSS, as a concrete example of applying web 2.0 to data broadcasting. Accordingly, we have developed a system for producing data services for the ground wave DMB data broadcasting, by using RSS at the stage of authoring news and the like, for which provision of the latest information is important. And for IPTV, we have developed a data broadcasting application so that users can select the RSS they want, as well as a creation system for using RSS at the authoring stage. It is anticipated that the application of RSS by means of the system will simplify the authoring process, making easy the provision of the latest information through the web, and thereby making possible the provision of diverse services to users.

  • This study concerns the design strategy for the waterside of Gyeong-In Ara Waterway, Korea’s first constructed canal. This design focused on the creation of a new paradigm for waterway landscapes the major factors of which were geographical advantage, value of landscape and efficient approach. As the major space plan for the waterfront formed through the Gyeong-In Ara waterway from the Yellow Sea to the Han River, eight good views of the waterfront zone were designed by utilizing the waterway as a scenery viewpoint and, by constructing two traffic lanes for the scenic parkway connecting Incheon and the Gimpo terminal, both a linear greenway as well as various waterfront facilities were also designed. A boardwalk and bike path connecting the major theme parks were planned, and a waterfront pocket park was then organized based on the bike path. In this study, the result of the new waterfront result from the Gyeong-In Ara waterway was planned to have an identity as a new waterside culture space in order to achieve multiple functions including environmental, cultural, leisure, and tourism as well as management programs based on a variety of applied culture content and story-telling.

  • This study started from the concern for Bjrake Ingels, an emerging architect in the architecture circle, who is creative and popular. Recently, the architecture field provides architects with a foundation to express a process on a new form creation through various new expressive languages, design concepts, and methods. The global Danish group BIG(Bjarke Ingels Group) develops a story by their distinctive architectural language. The storytelling is being used in various fields and now the tool called 'story' is settling down as an important element in the life that human lives. Bjarke Ingels leading the group BIG aims for the form expression by the scientific analysis and adaptation after being affected by Danish regional background and OMA. It creates a form to share stories with local members by visually simplifying the region, culture, environment, social phenomenon, economy, and politics that are invisible and do not have the form in the modern society. The elements and expressive features of the space storytelling include locality, cultural, natural environment, and connectivity which are the content structure(story) that enables you to intervene in the story according to the main agent to imagine a new space. The expressive element includes the watching moving line story of the successive, hierarchical, and organic structures which are constructive elements creating various spaces through the mixture, transmutability, and relocation of the program and inducing users to the space. The space storytelling is composed of the symbolism, community, and eco-friendliness to appear diversely through BIG's case analysis. This study will have significance that it drew a method and feature looked at by many contemporary architects from the storytelling viewpoint in the form-creating process, classified the form-creating process through a new storytelling type, and showed a possibility on the development of various methodologies.

  • Quality evaluation must be more developed in order to offer the sufficient information for producer, distribution centers buyer, consumer. There are many parameters which influence the rice quality and cooked rice. It is difficult to evaluate the quality of rice and cooked rice by only some parameters. In the case of rice quality evaluation in Korea, physicochemical inspection is performed by examining the minimum and maximum limits of brown rice recovery, moisture content, damaged kernel, and colored kernel as inspection standard. Marketing standard of rice defines the limits of perfect, white core and belly, colored, damaged kernels, and broken rice, classifying into special, excellent, and normal grades. As a research direction for the development of rice quality evaluation, establishment as parts of technical field, must be further developed as follows : more detailed measure of characters, search of unknown taste-related components, creation and grade classification of quality evaluation factors at each management stages of treatment after harvesting, evaluation as food material as well as cooking rice, method development for simple evaluation and establishment of equation for palatability. In the side of policy, the following concerns must be conducted: price discrimination in conformity to rice cultivar and grade under the basis of qualify evaluation method developed, fixation of head rice branding, and introduction of low temperature circulation.

Simulation of Disaster Broadcast Service Using Terrestrial UHD Additional Data (지상파 UHD 부가 데이터를 활용한 재난방송 서비스 시뮬레이션)

  • In this paper, we simulated disaster broadcast service using terrestrial UHD additional data. We looked at nine functions(warning alarm, location-based information, multilingual, re-viewing the title of breaking news, evacuation knack video, CCTV, clip video, wake up, automatic channel switching) by referring to ATSC 3.0 standards. Analyzing the advantages and problems of the proposed disaster broadcast. Expert interviews were conducted after a demonstration and explanation of terrestrial UHD disaster broadcast. They said that the problems with the technology were difficulty in using, obstruction of viewing, content creation problems, and problems with advertisers. In addition to the lack of simulation-based research, this research has provided an insight into the technology by showing it in a visible way. This helped shape the advantages and problems of technology.

  • Information skill, which means information technology skill and information handling skill, is related to the aims and processes of higher education as a knowledge creation activity. In this study, a curriculum design is proposed for the development of the information literate student. The framework of this curriculum derives form the US Information literacy standards for higher education 2000, the UK Information skills in higher education 2004, and Australian and New Zealand Information literacy framework 2004. The teaching plan and content is based on the information literacy programs of NMSU, CSU Hayward, and IUE. It is proposed that the development of the idea of information literacy requires a collaborative and integrated approach to curriculum design and delivery based on investigation of user's satisfaction with the curriculum.
