한국 유의 일본 전파와 변천에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Diffusion and Change of the Korean Hip-length Jacket)

  • The hip-length jacket(유) worn by the Korean from the ancient times is tole prototype of the contemporary jacket. Hip-length jacket was transferred to Japan and worn by all the people beyond the class. From 12C, the King and the high class people wore the clothing influenced by Tang(唐) country but the common people continuously wore the hip-length jacket. Currently the hip-length jacket is worn by the merchant and is used as the clothing of the celebration. The hip-length jacket has not been much changed in terms of the form.

Japanese Perspectives on "Global History"

  • The author stresses delicate but important differences of meaning between "global history" in English and its Japanized form "gurobaru hisutori." After explaining the specific path of Japanese historiography on world history from the end of the nineteenth century to the present, he points out important features of contemporary Japanese view on world history and discusses its merits and demerits. Finally, he underlines the potential of various contributions by Japanese historians who have a particular background and joined the discussion on global history in the world through a different path.

  • 한 중 일(韓中日)은 동아시아 문화권에 속한다. 오랜기간 삼국 사이에 문화는 상호 영향을 주고 받았으며 그 중 도자기는 한 중 일 교류의 중요한 역사이다. 자기 제조는 중국에서 고대 조선으로 전해져 들어간 후에 또 조선 및 중국에서 일본으로 전해져 들어갔다. 그리고 각 나라마다 자기예술은 각각의 특성에 맞게 발전하였다. 한국, 중국, 일본 도자기의 역사, 형태, 재질, 도안 등 비교 연구를 통하며 현대에 이르러 뚜렸한 특징과 차이점이 아직도 존재함을 발견하였고 점차 디자인의 차이가 줄어들고 있음을 연구를 통해 알 수 있었다.

  • The results of this study are as follows : 1. Though Korean college women have taken unfriendly attitudes and thoughts to Japan, they have enjoyed themselves over the various Japanese cultures. 2. They have thought that Japanese fashion becomes popular in Korea, Japanese clothes are superior to Korean clothes in quality, and they are suitable to express personality. 3. Japanese clothing elements which become popular now in Korea are the clothing style of ‘school girl-look’, ‘Avant-garde’, punk hair style, and the various shapes of shoes, accessories, and make-up.

  • Japan is an advanced Asian country with a young, visual and stimulating culture that fascinates even western countries. The aim of this article was to provide an in-depth understanding of youth subculture as a medium of interpreting contemporary Japanese society and fashion, and understanding the values of Japanese youths today. The study of Japanese culture, youth culture, and Japanese youth subcultures of the 2000s and their clothing styles are based on documentary research and internet research, including a wide range of books and dissertations, and English, Korean and Japanese websites. It studies the unique youth subcultures of the country from the perspective of a Korean researcher who lives in a more fashion-conservative neighbouring country.

  • Arata Isozaki is one of the Japan's most important contemporary architects with an international reputation and has designed notable buildings in Asia, Europe, and the United States. Arata Isozaki is not an architect simply explained by a single ism or style, he has dedicated himself to express all diversities implied in different periods and styles. With an avant-garde spirit and enthusiastic creativity, he has devoted all his efforts to bring these diversities and complexities into his own architectural works. The study was aimed to identify the key characteristics implied in his overall design concept. Through the analysis of his works, the key features underlined in his works were characterized by five key words, which are tradition, eclectic, metaphor, metabolism and proportion. These five characteristics have been well Presented in his works individually and sometimes as a whole. His unique combination among these key design concepts has been impressed by many other architects in worldwide.

Through the analysis of his works, the key features underlined in his works were characterized by five key words, which are tradition, eclectic, metaphor, metabolism and proportion . These five characteristics have been well presented in his works individually and sometimes as a whole. His unique combination among these key design concepts has been impressed by many other architects in worldwide. Through in-depth analysis of his design philosophy, this study raises a foundation for further studies on exploring an optimal solution for the harmonization between tradition and globalism.

Asymmetric Interdependence and the Selective Diversification of Supply Chains

  • The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the risks of an over-concentration of supply chains in one country. It has motivated stakeholders to pursue diversification strategies. However, a paradox exists. Stakeholders have shied away from a complete decoupling and preferring to selectively enhance economic ties with China. This article explores this paradox by examining supply chain concentration in China as a form of asymmetric interdependence and the countermeasures from the U.S., Japan, Australia, and India to minimize vulnerabilities. It argues that while the COVID-19 disruptions have brought to light the risk of supply chain overconcentration in China, countermeasures are also driven by coercive diplomacy and the deepening U.S.-China rivalry. The paper also examines the feasibility of diversification efforts by focusing on the capacity and capabilities of alternative supply chain hubs. It finds that while states are actively seeking ways to prevent China from using asymmetric interdependence of supply chains and trade to gain political leverage, there are structural limits to the degree of diversification in the short to mid-term.

Not Leather Boots but Dress Shoes: White-Collar Masculinity and the Far-Right Movement

  • This paper investigates whether white-collar masculinity can play a role in the life of a far-right activist. The current study employs the methods of psychosocial analysis devised by Wendy Hollway and Tony Jefferson. Using the case of a Japanese far-right activist, it explores how the hegemony and decline of "salaryman masculinity" in Japan interacted with his life. It draws attention to the suffering of white-collar men in their struggle to comply with hegemonic masculinity. These men's suffering tends to be overlooked due to their stable socio-economic status, but it can potentially play a role in their investment in far-right discourse.

근·현대 시대 오지호와 구본웅 유화작품에 사용된 백색계 안료의 특성 연구 (Characteristics of White Pigments Used in Jiho Oh and Bonung Gu's Paintings Produced in Modern and Contemporary Period)

  • 근 현대 유화작품에 사용된 안료 연구를 위해 오지호와 구본웅 작품 32점을 분석대상으로 선정하여, 바탕칠층과 물감층에 사용된 백색안료 특성을 확인하였다. 분석 결과 대상작품에 사용된 백색 안료는 lead white(염기성탄산납), zinc white(산화아연), titanium white(아나타제 또는 루틸형의 이산화티탄), calcite(탄산칼슘), barite(황산바륨)로 확인되었으며, 작품에 사용된 안료의 종류는 작가 및 제작시기에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 zinc white가 모든 작품에 사용되고 lead white가 titanium white, barite 및 calcite로 대체되는 점은 두 작가 모두 동일한 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 문헌자료로 알려진 국외 안료 및 유화물감 연구와 비교했을 때 안료의 변화 양상은 동일하게 나타났으나, 부분적으로 사용시기가 다른 것으로 확인되었다. 이는 유화의 도입기부터 서구권과의 직접적인 교류가 이루어지지 못하고 일본을 거쳐 재료와 기법이 유입되었던 시대적 배경과 연관이 있는 것으로 보인다. 이에 따라 국내 유화에 사용된 백색안료의 종류는 세계적인 변화 양상과 시기적인 차이를 지니는 것으로 해석된다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 다양한 작품분석이 진행된다면 시기에 따른 유화물감의 재료적 특성과 작가의 표현기법 및 편년 연구 등 향후 보존과학과 미술사 연구에 중요한 근거자료가 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
