효용 최적화를 통한 종신연금 계획의 가치 추정 : Money's Worth 비율과의 비교를 중심으로 (Evaluation of Life Annuity Plans Based on Utility Maximization : Focused on Comparison with Money's Worth Ratio)

  • This study evaluates life annuity plans based on two different types of measures : financial benefit and utility on consumption. The financial benefit is measured by Money's Worth (MW) ratio and return on annuity. For the measure of utility, an optimization problem is formulated with the objective of maximizing utility on consumption. To solve the optimization model, we use Dynamic Programming (DP) technique. The both types of measures are applied to cases of Korean pre-retirees at age 40 with different accumulation years of annuity (i.e. level of annuity asset at the age of retirement) and different timings of annuitization. Our results generally indicate that the utility based optimization model is superior to the financial measures in terms of providing a better evaluation of an annuity plan due to its capability to consider an individual's financial situation during his/her retirement period. Also, they suggest that the level of annuity asset is an important factor when an individual determines the optimal annuitization timing.

도시빈곤가계의 상대적 박탈 -소비를 중심으로- (Relative Deprivation in Consumption of Urban Poor Households in Korea)

  • Despite the rapid economic growth since the 1960s the economic inequality has been exacerbated in Korea. This study analyzed the variables influencing the level of objective deprivation. For empirical analysis this study used the data on 602 households in the city of Inchon collected by the researcher through interviews. The major method used in this study was the four stepwise multiple regression. The findings were as follows : the residential class was the most critical variable in determining the level of deprivation. For the entire sample assets had stronger effect on the deprivation than nonasset income but two variables had different effects depending on residential class. For the poor residential class two variables had the effect These results imply that the household consumption in Korea shows remarkable difference according to residential class and that the inequality of wealth compared to that of nonasset income had much more serious effects.

부부의 인적자본과 가계소비지출구조 (Human Capital and Consumption Structure in Husband-Wife Households)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of husband-wife's human capital on household consumption structure. This study used the 1996 Expenditure Survey of Urban families from National Statistics Office. Of the samples, 62.36 percent of the households had the same educational attainment for husband and wife. The households with more educated couples tended to have more household income and more household expenditure. Regression analyses showed that the educational level of husband-wife was found to be a significant factor on most household expenditure categories after controlling other household characteristics. Specifically, significant and positive effects of the educational level of husband-wife were found on the expenditures for food at home, food away from home, housing, clothing, education, and transportation.

  • This paper proposed resource allocation algorithm for the minimum switching activity of functional unit in high level synthesis process as like DSP which is circuit to give many functional unit. The resource allocation method after scheduling use the power function calculating average hamming distance and switching activity of the between two input. First of all, the switching activity is calculated by the input value after calculating the average hamming distance between operation. In this paper, the proposed method though high If level simulation find switching activity in circuit each functional unit exchange for binary sequence length and value bit are logic one value. To use the switching activity find the allocation with minimal power consumption, the proposed method visits all control steps one by one and determines the allocation with minimal power consumption at each control step. As the existing method, the execution time can be fast according to use the number of operator and max control step. And it is the reduction effect from 6% to 8%.

대학생들의 신용카드 인식 및 사용에 관한 연구 (A Study on Credit Card Cognition and Use of College Students)

  • This study has been peformed on the consumption tendency, and knowledge and cognition of credit cards among college students. A total of 327 subjects from the college students was surveyed in Pusan area. The major findings of this study were summerized as follows; First, the rate of credit card possession of the students was 19.6%. The card possession showed significantly different in age, personal expense, income. Second, the level of knowledge of the credit card was low(23.1 points). Also, the level of knowledge was significantly different in sex, age, major, personal expense, income and credit card ownership. Third, the cognition of credit cards was medium(51.3 points). The cognition of the credit cards was significantly different only in the card possession. Fourth, the behavior of credit card was not significantly different in the group. Fifth, there were significant relationships between the knowlege and cognition. This result implied that the group with higer levels of knowlege tended to show more favor of credit cards. For the rational consumption of the college students, the students need to be educated about advantage and disadvantages of the credit cards.

EETCA: Energy Efficient Trustworthy Clustering Algorithm for WSN

  • A Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is composed of several sensor nodes which are severely restricted to energy and memory. Energy is the lifeblood of sensors and thus energy conservation is a critical necessity of WSN. This paper proposes a clustering algorithm namely Energy Efficient Trustworthy Clustering algorithm (EETCA), which focuses on three phases such as chief node election, chief node recycling process and bi-level trust computation. The chief node election is achieved by Dempster-Shafer theory based on trust. In the second phase, the selected chief node is recycled with respect to the current available energy. The final phase is concerned with the computation of bi-level trust, which is triggered for every time interval. This is to check the trustworthiness of the participating nodes. The nodes below the fixed trust threshold are blocked, so as to ensure trustworthiness. The system consumes lesser energy, as all the nodes behave normally and unwanted energy consumption is completely weeded out. The experimental results of EETCA are satisfactory in terms of reduced energy consumption and prolonged lifetime of the network.

Health Implications of Beef Intramuscular Fat Consumption

  • Despite several issues in relation to human health, beef is still a most popular meat product among large section of society due to the presence of high quality protein and other nutrients. The current paper reviews numerous studies that provide nutritional profiles and health implications of high marbled beef consumption. In relation to lipid content of beef, intramuscular fat contains high level of PUFA and MUFA compared to other beef fat. Level and composition of intramuscular fat varies depending on breed and feeding regime. Literature suggests that the marbling is more complex than the development of subcutaneous fat and marbling not only provides good fatty acids but also contributes to the higher eating quality of beef. Finally, the current work emphasize that meat plays a pivotal role in nutritious diets, high quality marbled beef is not only of excellent eating quality but also contain more beneficial fatty acids.
