Recently, the "Smart Consumer" has been emerging. He or she is increasingly inclined to search for and purchase products by taking into account personal judgment or expert reviews rather than by relying on information delivered through manufacturers' advertising. This is especially true when purchasing cosmetics. Because cosmetics act directly on the skin, consumers respond seriously to dangerous chemical elements they contain or to skin problems they may cause. Above all, cosmetics should fit well with the purchaser's skin type. In addition, changes in global cosmetics consumer trends make it necessary to study this field. The desire to find one's own individualized cosmetics is being revealed to consumers around the world and is known as "Finding the Holy Grail." Many consumers show a deep interest in customized cosmetics with the cultural boom known as "K-Beauty" (an aspect of "Han-Ryu"), the growth of personal grooming, and the emergence of "self-culture" that includes "self-beauty" and "self-interior." These trends have led to the explosive popularity of cosmetics made in Korea in the Chinese and Southeast Asian markets. In order to meet the customized cosmetics needs of consumers, cosmetics manufacturers and related companies are responding by concentrating on delivering premium services through the convergence of ICT(Information, Communication and Technology). Despite the evolution of companies' responses regarding market trends toward customized cosmetics, there is no "Intelligent Data Platform" that deals holistically with consumers' skin condition experience and thus attaches emotions to products and services. To find the Holy Grail of customized cosmetics, it is important to acquire and analyze consumer data on what they want in order to address their experiences and emotions. The emotions consumers are addressing when purchasing cosmetics varies by their age, sex, skin type, and specific skin issues and influences what price is considered reasonable. Therefore, it is necessary to classify emotions regarding cosmetics by individual consumer. Because of its importance, consumer emotion analysis has been used for both services and products. Given the trends identified above, we judge that consumer emotion analysis can be used in our study. Therefore, we collected and indexed data on consumers' emotions regarding their cosmetics experiences focusing on consumers' language. We crawled the cosmetics emotion data from SNS (blog and Twitter) according to sales ranking ($1^{st}$ to $99^{th}$), focusing on the ample/serum category. A total of 357 emotional adjectives were collected, and we combined and abstracted similar or duplicate emotional adjectives. We conducted a "Consumer Sentiment Journey" workshop to build a "Consumer Sentiment Dictionary," and this resulted in a total of 76 emotional adjectives regarding cosmetics consumer experience. Using these 76 emotional adjectives, we performed clustering with the Self-Organizing Map (SOM) method. As a result of the analysis, we derived eight final clusters of cosmetics consumer sentiments. Using the vector values of each node for each cluster, the characteristics of each cluster were derived based on the top ten most frequently appearing consumer sentiments. Different characteristics were found in consumer sentiments in each cluster. We also developed a cosmetics experience pattern map. The study results confirmed that recommendation and classification systems that consider consumer emotions and sentiments are needed because each consumer differs in what he or she pursues and prefers. Furthermore, this study reaffirms that the application of emotion and sentiment analysis can be extended to various fields other than cosmetics, and it implies that consumer insights can be derived using these methods. They can be used not only to build a specialized sentiment dictionary using scientific processes and "Design Thinking Methodology," but we also expect that these methods can help us to understand consumers' psychological reactions and cognitive behaviors. If this study is further developed, we believe that it will be able to provide solutions based on consumer experience, and therefore that it can be developed as an aspect of marketing intelligence.
This paper compared self-validation and regulatory focus between consumers who felt happy vs. sad prior to decision and explored the effects of self-validation on regulatory focus and information distortion. The results of empirical analysis are as follows. First, consumers who felt happy beforehand revealed larger self-validation and stronger promotion focus than those who felt sad in advance. Second, compared to sadness, just-felt happiness was found to have partially positive impact on promotion focus by means of self-validation and exercise entirely positive impact on information distortion through mediation of self-validation. This study has made theoretic contributions by identifying the differences in the extent of self-validation and promotion focus between happiness and sadness as ambient emotion felt prior to the impending decision making as well as by investigating the effects of self-validation upon information distortion.

This study explored the conceptual constructs of shopping values and experiential marketing components of home furnishing brands as well as their impacts on the behavioral intention toward home furnishing goods. The mediating roles of experiential marketing were investigated in this research. A survey was performed on female shoppers between the ages of 20 and 50 who have visited and shopped at home furnishing brand stores. The results of this research were as follows. 1) The results to analyze the sub-dimension of shopping values (Social, Differential, Utilitarian, Aesthetic, Entertaining, and Sustainable) and experiential marketing components (Sense, Emotion, Coordination information, and Customer services) showed factorial structures. 2) Aesthetic, Differential, and Utilitarian shopping values showed significantly positive influences on behavioral intentions of home furnishing brand products; in addition, Sense, Emotion, and Coordination information components of experiential marketing had a positive effect on behavioral intentions of home furnishing brand products. 3) The Emotion and Sense components of experiential marketing had important medicating roles in the relationship between shopping values and behavioral intentions of home furnishing brand products. This study highlighted that shopping values and experiential marketing components should be promoted among consumers to increase behavioral intentions of home furnishing brand products.
Despite of the importance of design, relatively little research has been conducted on consumers' behavioral responses to product design and especially, the empirical studies which are related to consumers' psychological responses to product design. Understanding of the relationship between the response to product design and brand image or brand equity is limited. This research investigated the effect of the design image which can be formed by the response to product design on brand image and equity in two kinds of product types (utilitarian and symbolic product). The result shows that the product design image has a strong effect on the brand image in both products. Design image of the product influences brand equity in the symbolic product. However, there was no significant effect of the product design image on brand equity in the utilitarian product. In addition, the research found that brand image has a strong effect on brand equity in both products.
The aims of the study are first, in other to meet the demand for a new product design process, to review the prototype theory and to find out the conceptual structure of product aesthetics, which is another properly thought to be as important as the typical pattern in an effort to patch up the theory second to help designers overcome the limits of idea generation and create consumer oriented designs with a high success rate by setting up a new product design process that is established through the application of the aesthetically influential factor 'proportion'based on the preceeding studies that tested product aesthetics measuring devices. In other words, this study tries to find out product categories, making use of the prototype theory to introduce an ideal proportion for product design, recognizing the importance of proportion by conducting product pattern analysis: to create a differentiated method that can product consumer oriented designs, even if it only manipulate proportion and to establish a new design process that can systematically explain the methodology for various form generation that applies proportion. This study reviews the theoretical aspects of concepts pertaining to the above … and, based on them, empirically tests them by patting to use the programs, for proportion manipulation. This study was conducted in the following way: To begin with, this study takes out proportion out of some aesthetically influential factors that has a great impact on the way consumers prefer certain product designs and tries to see how proportion affects the consumer preference when consumers select a product. In addition, we could analyze the difference between the ideal proportion that consumers prefer and the traditional golden proportion produced through theoretical studies. The correlations between preferred proportion and ideal proportion, and preferred proportion and golden proportion could be shown. In order that we may create form variations through more detailed proportion manipulation on the basis of the ideal proportion verified as preferable, we again applied the proportion factor to the process utilizing PDS(proportion Distortion System). In the way the restraint of form generation could be pursued. All in all, this study makes an attempt to set up a design process to create new product forms through the application of Proportion.
Fashion companies are increasingly becoming aware of the importance of Digilog as a response strategy to an emotional stimulus, in order to win the hearts of consumers, because the Digilog provides a new type of emotional value. The features of Digilog found in modern fashion are characterized as follows: first, the "Fashion Image of Hybrid Nature" expresses nature in a new light or reinterprets existing expressions of nature, by using cutting-edge technology based on the psychological desire to return to, adapt with, and harmonize with nature. Second, the "Fashion Image of Nostalgia," which exhibits past forms of regressive fashion, is a fashion code that can be understood as a social trend. It has a digital exterior, with retro materials and old perfumes that reflect psychological comfort, as its expressive medium. Third, the "Lifestyle through the Technique of Interaction" is the sharing of information through consumer participation and delivery, or its interaction. Fourth, the "Fashion Design through the Technique of Customizing" allows consumers to actively participate in the design process. It reflects the consumer's desire to personally design fashion products. Fifth, the "Emotion Sharing through the Technique of Storytelling," which focuses on intangible values, is based on the sentiment of communication between the consumer and the brand, thereby satisfying the inner values as well as the aesthetic demands of consumers. This study confirmed that digital fashion, which uses digital technology based on analog sentiments, has opened up a new environment for fashion culture and has also widened the boundaries of fashion.

As information and communication technologies (ICTs) become more advanced, consumers are able to experience retailing activities such as searching for products and services in online retail shops and for Internet-exclusive branded contents. Specifically, fashion retailers are facing the need to develop more novel experiential design than one another to maximize customers' experience in Internet websites and secure sustainable competency. Confirming methods of organic integration of experiential and visual features of both online and mobile channels is an important aspect of the study of extended consumers' interfaces of retail channels. Mehrabian and Russell's stimulus-organism-response (S-O-R) paradigm and Sugiyama and Andree's attention, interest, search, action, and share (AISAS) model were used for this research. Specifically, the present study considered the effect of e-commerce website features on consumers' emotional reactions (pleasure and arousal) and the consequent impact on online consumer behaviors (search, action, and share). Hence, plus the self-reported survey methods, each subject's psychophysiological indicators (i.e., pleasure and arousal) were measured to obtain more objective and reliable data and to redeem the results of the self-reported survey. Findings revealed the implications of the e-commerce website feature by comprehending the S-O-R paradigm and AISAS model and extending the understanding of the role of variables associated with comprehended frameworks based on psychophysiological data.

This study aims to explore the impact of algorithmic price discrimination on negative word-of-mouth (NWOM) through the lens of attribution theory. It also examines the mediating roles of intentional attributions and negative emotions, as well as the moderating effect of price sensitivity. For this study, 772 consumers who had purchased flight tickets completed a questionnaire survey, and the collected data were analyzed and tested using SPSS 27.0 and AMOS 24.0 software. The research findings reveal that algorithmic price discrimination has a significant positive impact on intentional attributions, negative emotions, and NWOM. Specifically, deliberate attributions and negative emotions mediate the relationship between algorithmic price discrimination and NWOM, while price sensitivity positively moderates the relationship between negative emotions and NWOM. Therefore, companies should consider disclosing algorithm details transparently in their marketing strategies to mitigate consumers' negative emotions and implement targeted strategies for consumers with different levels of price sensitivity to enhance positive word-of-mouth.
The purpose of this study is to use as the basic data for design method in commercial space. So, we analyzed whether any emotion was induced by finishing materials in the commercial space. And we was to suggest expression methods of finish materials to induce in the emotional space. The results of this study are as follows : First, we could know that the emotional design is needed to enhance satisfaction of consumers. The role of finishing material is very important in emotional expression in the commercial space. Second, we extracted the adjectives vocabulary(14 pairs) to evaluate the space emotion. we could educe the four kinds of space emotion by Factor Analysis. In addition, we could arrange the emotional words to represent each space type(Decoration : 5 pairs, Expand : 4 pairs, Limitation : 3 pairs, Hierarchy : 2 pairs). Third, to use finishing materials and wall is very effective to induce the emotion in the emotional space. To use the color is good among the elements of finishing materials. Fourth, We could find that the center of the types of emotional space was induced with the boundary and the decoration. If we use contrasting colors and accent colors in the commercial space, we can induce the center and the boundary together. And if we use colorful or unusual patterns, we can induce the center and the decoration together. Fifth, To induce the expand, we should finish with one color in space. And To induce the center, we should finish with one type of the color or pattern and then we should partially use the contrast color and special pattern. the case of boundary, it is good method to part emphasize by color, texture and materials. And we can induce the decoration with materials and patterns.
The purpose of the paper is to examine sidedness effects of comparative advertising and moderating roles of the emotions of customer and product type. To test the research hypotheses, this study conducted experimental designs. One hundred ninety-two undergraduate students were assigned to one of the four experimental groups. Comparative Advertising message type and product type were manipulated as between-subject factors. There was a surprising event situation(free gift event) when participants came to laboratory for experiment, which is for the emotion manipulation. If a participant in a positive emotion group, he or she gets a free gift. The data demonstrate that comparative message type have a significant effect on both attitude toward the advertising and acceptance intention. In addition, consumers' emotion and product type play a significant moderating role between the message types and the dependent variables. The results of this study contribute to the literature as a new attempt to examine the sidedness effect of the comparative advertising message. We suggested that message types and consumer's emotion is one of very important aspects for a comparative advertising and marketers should consider people's emotion when they release a comparative advertising, which can help when marketers make their strategy for a comparative advertising.
