  • The rapidly evolving social platform marketing landscape has led businesses to increasingly rely on social platform influencers for brand and service promotion. Despite growing interest in these influencers, there remains a dearth of empirical research examining the impact of their characteristics on consumer attachment and brand loyalty. This study, therefore, investigates the relationships between social platform influencer characteristics, consumer attachment, and brand loyalty. An online survey targeting Chinese consumers was conducted, and a total of 360 responses were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS software. The findings reveal that among the various social platform influencer characteristics, reliability, professionalism, and intimacy significantly influence consumer attachment. Furthermore, it was confirmed that higher attachment to a social platform influencer leads to increased brand loyalty.

  • The domestic artificially sweetened beverage market has grown rapidly in recent years, and sodas have led this growth. This study investigated consumer food purchasing behavior of artificially sweetened sodas in terms of the food health stereotypes of "vice" and "virtue"; used to denote unhealthy and healthy food purchases, respectively. The study was conducted using consumer panel data collected by the Rural Development Administration from 2017 to 2020. Given the semi-continuous nature of artificially sweetened soda purchases, Cragg's two-part model was used for the analysis. The probability of purchasing artificially sweetened sodas increased as expenditure on snacks (a vice food category) increased. However, of those panelists who purchased artificially sweetened sodas, expenditure on artificially sweetened sodas decreased with expenditure on snacks and increased with expenditure on fruits (a virtue food category). These results suggest that vicious-lifestyle consumers choose artificially sweetened sodas when they regulate eating habits, whereas virtuous-lifestyle consumers increase artificially sweetened soda expenditure for hedonic consumption to reduce guilt based on a sensible trade-off effect.

  • This study aims to investigate how consumers perceive the attributes (ubiquity, continuity) of metaverse fashion brands in a virtual space. It also empirically verifies the impact on consumers' perceived values (hedonic value, social value) and consumer behavioral intentions (intention to use the platform, intention to purchase virtual products). The results verified in this study are as follows: First, we confirmed that the metaverse attributes perceived by consumers in the virtual space of the fashion brand, ubiquity and daily extension, positively affect customers' perceived hedonic and social values. Second, we found that consumers' perceived hedonic and social values have a significant positive effect on their intention to use the platform. Finally, we found that consumers' intention to use the platform had a significant positive effect on their intention to purchase virtual products. The results of this study will have academic significance by expanding the scope of research related to identifying metaverse attributes and values by identifying metaverse attributes and consumer values that perceived by consumers in fashion brands' virtual spaces in the metaverse. This study suggests a direction and strategy for fashion brands to move forward in building virtual spaces on the metaverse platform. In this way, they can create perceived value for consumers that elicits positive consumer behavioral intentions.

  • This study includes definitions and major issues relating to product safety, and reviews about product safety laws of Korea and of other countries. In addition, this study suggests several ideas for a future governmental policy concerning product safety and the government policies to guide in securing consumers' safety of products. First, we need to set up consumer safety policies and laws dealing with complex consumer safety issues and to integrate existing laws for the safety of products. Second, opening a consumer safety agency and training workers who have relation to the safety policy, as a profession, are necessary. Third, it is required to redefine the product safety guidelines, strengthen the safety policy and to minimize safety regulations by the government directly. Fourth, each product of the safety management policies must be regularly evaluated and given feedback for improving its effectiveness. Fifth, information gathering, disclosing, and having a feedback system related to product safety should be rebuilt for the effective management of unsafe products. In addition, laws and the aims of product safety management being changed to focus on the consumers, control on imported products, collaboration with network and mutual-assistance systems of product safety-related agencies including international organizations and major countries and taking leading roles in the world are essential.

One of the representative examples are customercentered management activities in corporations, social responsibility activities, and sustainable ethical consumption that show consideration for the consumer's environment. The ethical consumption behavior of consumers becomes a virtuous circle that influences other consumer's ethical decision making by creating an ethical consumption culture. Furthermore, the cost and effort to solve non-ethical consumption problems can be solved. This research aims at aspiring the perception of consumer's ethical consumption and finding measures to increase ethical behavior. This paper further investigated the consumer's ethical consumption behavior, personality traits, perception of consumption society, and ethical judgements. For the research, a structured survey was conducted on 300 university students in Seoul. SPSS ver. 21.0 and AMOS ver. 18.0 programs were used for statistical data analysis. The results indicated differences in variables that influence consumer's ethical consumption behavior (fair trade, boycotts, and environmentally friendly products). In particular, it was evident that ethical judgements (such as the agent, personality traits, and perception consumption society) have different direct and non-direct influences on ethical consumption behavior. Strengthening the management of factors that influence measures that increase university student's ethical consumption behavior in direct and non-direct ways, providing education and improving information are believed effective in increasing ethical consumption behavior.
