The data were analyzed with SPSS 16.0 and Amos 5.0 for frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling analysis. Results - First, conformity to consumption trends was found to have a significant effect on all four variables of SPA brand attitude (brand favorability, uniqueness, ethicality, and economic utility). Second, quality perception was found to have a significant effect on brand favorability, uniqueness, ethicality, and economic utility. Third, social prestige was found to have a positive effect on uniqueness. Conclusions - The results show that consumers' susceptibility to global culture is a significant factor in their attitude to the global SPA brand. Therefore, it would be more effective if the global SPA brand develops recognition among consumers that its products play a role in sharing new trends and global lifestyles.
This study examined in detail the Japanese system of redressing consumers' losses and the overall consumer administrative system and compared them with the Korean counterpart to seek for a direction of reforming the systems. Several policy suggestions could be made as follows to activate the systems and improve the performances of the consumer administration in both Japan and Korea. First, in Japan, consumer center must be efficiently operated while private consumer groups, firms, consumer agencies and other organizations must actively join to actively redress consumers' losses and implement other consumer policies. Second, in Korea, regional consumer policies are weak so that they must learn Japanese well-developed regional consumer administration system by examining their current development, strengths, and weaknesses. Third, working conditions must be urgently improved, increasing the number of consumer counselors who are involved in consumer policies as well as to guarantee minimum level of their payment. On the other hand, the trend of hiring married and old employees being responsible for implementing consumer policies in Japan must be improved. Fourth, divisions of works in consumer policies among consumer groups as well as their specialization in Korea are necessary. Finally, as counseling of consumers through internet were not available in Japan, that type of counseling must introduce and become more popular in the future.
■ Both countries’ samples rated the self-directed values more important. ■ Among female consumers in China, clothing is regarded as asymbolic medium to demonstrate one’s social status/image, while in Korea, clothing is more an important medium to fulfill one’s desire for change, newness or emotional expression. ■ Korean female consumers seem more demanding (product quality & emotional satisfaction). ■ Experiential needs were a strong, more universally common motivator for apparel purchase. This study investigates the effects of the type of advertisement, brand extension, and consumer innovativeness on the credibility of fashion advertisements. The factorial design is constructed as a 2(type of fashion advertisement: general vs. cross-media) ${\times}2$(consumer innovativeness: high vs. low) ${\times}2$(the type of fashion brand extension: similar vs. dissimilar) three-way mixed design in which consumer innovativeness is the between-subjects variable. Subjects of this study included 210 men and women in their 20s and 30s who resid in Seoul and had SNS experiences. Frequency analysis, credibility analysis, three-way ANOVA, and simple interaction analysis were conducted using the SPSS 20.0 statistics package. The results are as follows: First, the type of fashion advertisement had a significant effect on advertising credibility. Cross-media advertisements had a more positive effect than general advertisements on all of the dependent variables. Also, the type of brand extension and consumer innovativeness showed significant effect on advertising credibility and the interaction effect between the type of fashion advertisement and consumer innovativeness was significant. Lastly, the effect of different types of brand extensions on advertising credibility showed a significant difference according to consumer innovativeness. Thus, a marketing strategy using cross-media advertising is proven to be effective in gaining consumer trust for a fashion brand.
This study investigates consumer experiences and word-of-mouth (WOM) intentions in luxury brand pop-up stores, including standalone and department store setups. Grounded in experience economy theory, this study examines the experiential elements based on the types of pop-up stores and the relationships among consumer experience, pop-up store image, and WOM intentions for each type. Data were collected from 300 visitors to luxury brand pop-up stores between January and July 2023 and analyzed using Smart PLS 4.0. The findings reveal several key insights. First, standalone pop-up stores offer educational and escapist experiences, while pop-ups within department stores have a single identified factor of consumer experience. Second, regardless of the store type, luxury pop-up store experiences significantly influence pop-up image perceptions. Third, luxury pop-up store image drives WOM intentions for both standalone and department store pop-ups. Notably, the unique image significantly impacts solely department store pop-ups and does not influence standalone pop-ups. Moreover, image perceptions in both pop-up store types do not significantly affect brand WOM intentions. Finally, WOM intentions for pop-up stores significantly influence WOM intentions for brands. This study contributes to the theoretical understanding of consumer experiences in luxury pop-up stores, providing practical insights for stakeholders in the luxury brand industry to enhance pop-up store image perceptions and WOM intentions.

This study aims to make clear how consumer's characteristic and involvement in infant's clothing effect on the purchasing behavior. Using questionnaire as a researching tool, I collected the date from 366 housewives who live in Seoul and have kids aged from two to six year-old. The results of the study were as follows : First, they showed a significance on the correlation between sub-variants of involvement in their child's clothing like interest, importance and cognition of danger and those of purchasing behavior like directions to trademark, beauty and practicality, and so that, ti was realized that the involvement have a great effect on their purchasing behavior like. This was of the same opinion that when they think economic significance seriously, they also think practical function importantly. It seems that such a result derived from the fact that infant's clothing is most involved in practicality and economy rather than in trademark, beauty and popularity which are important on adult's clothing because infant's growth is so rapid that it requires to change sooner. Second, as for the correlation between the involvement in their child's clothing and the purchasing behavior according with the consumer's characteristics, they showed a significant correlation according with the consumer's characteristics like husband's profession, average monthly income and monthly expense to purchase infant's clothing. I found, therefore, economic factors like husband's profession, average monthly income and monthly expense to purchase infant's clothing were of most important. It suggests that the higher the consumer's income is, the grater it have an effect on the purchasing behavior.
