A Conceptual Modeling Tools for the Model Base Design (모델베이스 설계를 위한 개념적 모델링 도구에 관한 연구)

  • In many literatures of model management, various schemes for representing model base schema have proposed. Ultimately, the goal is to arrive at a set of mutually supportive and synergistic methodologies and tools for the modeling problem domain and model base design. This paper focus on how best to structure and represent conceptual model of problem domain and schema of model base. Semantic concepts and modeling constructs are valuable conceptual tools for understanding the structural relationships and constraints involved in an model management environment. To this end, we reviewed the model management literature, and analyzed the constructs of modeling tools of data model management graph-based approach. Although they have good tools but most of them are not enough for the representation of structural relationships and constraints. So we wanted more powerful tools which can represent diverse constructs in a decision support modeling and model base schema design. For the design of a model base, we developed object modeling framework which uses Object Modeling Techniques (OMT). In Object Modeling Framework, model base schema are classified into conceptual schema, logical schema, and physical schema. The conceptual schema represents the user's view of problem domain, and the logical schema represents a model formatted by a particular modeling language. The schema design, this paper proposes an extension of Object Model to overcome some of the limitations exhibited by the OMT. The proposed tool, Extended Object Model(EOM) have diverse constructs for the representation of decision support problem domain and conceptual model base schema.

  • E-learning has become an ever-increasing delivery method in school and workplace. Many Web sites provide Internet users with lots of information and resources on study, research, and career development in workplace. First, this study aimed at presenting a process of validating instruments to measure perception of using the Web for learning. Secondly, this paper attempted to find out a list of critical constructs that university students recognize when they access Web sites to get some resources on their fields of study. This study also suggested the features of those constructs. This paper would help improve our understanding of Web usage for schoolwork and research. This result of the paper will facilitate further understanding of constructs associated with Web usage in other areas, thereby enabling researchers, practitioners, and policy makers to draw much attention to e-learning.

Systematic Review of Osteoporosis Preventive Intervention Studies based on Health Belief Model (건강신념모델 기반의 골다공증 예방 중재연구에 대한 체계적 문헌고찰)

  • Purpose: This study aims to systematically clarify and enhance the understanding of osteoporosis prevention interventions based on Health Belief Model (HBM). The analysis includes HBM constructs, intervention characteristics, and outcomes from prior studies. Methods: We extensively searched eight electronic databases to identify peer-reviewed studies that implemented HBM-based interventions for osteoporosis prevention until June 2023. Results: Initially, 638 articles were identified, and after a rigorous evaluation process, 11 articles were included in the evidence synthesis. The analysis revealed that HBM-based interventions significantly improved likelihood of taking action including knowledge, HBM constructs and adopting preventive behaviors such as calcium intake and exercise. However, most interventions included in this study did not fully encompass all five HBM constructs or specify the particular components adopted. Conclusion: There is a need for additional research and intervention refinement for a more comprehensive understanding of osteoporosis preventive interventions. This should involve a concerted effort to incorporate all HBM constructs into the context of osteoporosis prevention. Thus, more effective interventions promoting optimal preventive behaviors and reducing the burden of osteoporosis can be developed.

Theoretically Informed Correlates of Hepatitis B Knowledge among Four Asian Groups: The Health Behavior Framework

  • Background: Few studies have examined theoretically informed constructs related to hepatitis B (HBV) testing, and comparisons across studies are challenging due to lack of uniformity in constructs assessed. The present analysis examined relationships among Health Behavior Framework factors across four Asian American groups to advance the development of theory-based interventions for HBV testing in at-risk populations. Methods: Data were collected from 2007-2010 as part of baseline surveys during four intervention trials promoting HBV testing among Vietnamese-, Hmong-, Korean- and Cambodian-Americans (n = 1,735). Health Behavior Framework constructs assessed included: awareness of HBV, knowledge of transmission routes, perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, doctor recommendation, stigma of HBV infection, and perceived efficacy of testing. Within each group we assessed associations between our intermediate outcome of knowledge of HBV transmission and other constructs, to assess the concurrent validity of our model and instruments. Results: While the absolute levels for Health Behavior Framework factors varied across groups, relationships between knowledge and other factors were generally consistent. This suggests similarities rather than differences with respect to posited drivers of HBV-related behavior. Discussion: Our findings indicate that Health Behavior Framework constructs are applicable to diverse ethnic groups and provide preliminary evidence for the construct validity of the Health Behavior Framework.

Facilitator Psychological Constructs for Mammography Screening among Iranian Women

  • Background: While many researchers often use a theoretical framework for mammogram repeat interventions, it seems they do not apply an identified mediation analysis method. The aim of this study was to determine the mediators of mammogram replication behavior in two tailored interventions for non-adherent Iranian women. Materials and Methods: A sample population of 184 women over 50 years old in Sanandaj, Iran, was selected for an experiment. Participants were randomly allocated into one of the three conditions: 1) an intervention based on the Health Belief Model (HBM) 2) an intervention based on an integration of the HBM and selected constructs from the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), and 3) a control group. Constructs were measured before the intervention, and after a 6-month follow-up. Results: Perceived self-efficacy, behavioral control, and subjective norms were recognized as mediators in the HBM and selected constructs from the TPB intervention. Perceived susceptibility, severity, barriers, self-efficacy and behavioral control met the criteria for mediation in the HBM intervention. Conclusions: This study was successful in establishing mediation in a sample of women. Our findings enrich the literature on mammography repeat, indicating key intervention factors, and relegating redundant ones in the Iranian populations. The use of strategies to increase mammography repeat, such HBM and TPB constructs is suggested to be important for maintaining a screening behavior, once the behavior has been adopted.

Preference Analysis for Location Based Services on Smartphone Users; Focusing on the H University Students in Daejeon Area (스마트폰 사용자의 위치기반 서비스에 대한 선호도 분석: 대전지역 H 대학교 학생 설문을 중심으로)

  • The rapid development of information communication technology(ICT) is born opportunities of business venturing and many items of start-up. On the smart media era, there are a lot of location based services. Thus we researched to find which factors impact location based constructs on smartphone environment in this study. We have conducted a preference analysis of the influencing factors for location based constructs for our study. In first steps, based constructs that were already known by empirical studies were categorized information, entertainment, safe&emergency, navigation&tracking and advertising&commerce. In second steps, the preference relationship among the categorized constructs were analyzed using AHP(analytic hierarchy process) technique. Participants of this study were 106 students H university in Daejeon-city during 2014. 10. 11 to 2014. 10. 25. The result of the analysis might be summarized that the chatting(0.170) has the highest preference among the above constructs. Based on these findings, several theoretical and practical implications were suggested and discussed.

In this study, by considering these realities, what impact location based constructs on smartphone environment, continuous intention to use you want to identification. Thus, this study conducted of preference the influencing factors for location based constructs. The result of the analysis might be summarized that the navigation(0.133) has the highest preference ran in the constructs. Based on these findings, several theoretical and practical implications were suggested and discussed.

Keratinocyte Migration in a Three-Dimensional In Vitro Wound Healing Model Co-Cultured with Fibroblasts

  • BACKGROUND: Because three-dimensional (3D) models more closely mimic native tissues, one of the goals of 3D in vitro tissue models is to aid in the development and toxicity screening of new drug therapies. In this study, a 3D skin wound healing model comprising of a collagen type I construct with fibrin-filled defects was developed. METHODS: Optical imaging was used to measure keratinocyte migration in the presence of fibroblasts over 7 days onto the fibrin-filled defects. Additionally, cell viability and growth of fibroblasts and keratinocytes was measured using the $alamarBlue^{(R)}$ assay and changes in the mechanical stiffness of the 3D construct was monitored using compressive indentation testing. RESULTS: Keratinocyte migration rate was significantly increased in the presence of fibroblasts with the cells reaching the center of the defect as early as day 3 in the co-culture constructs compared to day 7 for the control keratinocyte monoculture constructs. Additionally, constructs with the greatest rate of keratinocyte migration had reduced cell growth. When fibroblasts were cultured alone in the wound healing construct, there was a 1.3 to 3.4-fold increase in cell growth and a 1.2 to 1.4-fold increase in cell growth for keratinocyte monocultures. However, co-culture constructs exhibited no significant growth over 7 days. Finally, mechanical testing showed that fibroblasts and keratinocytes had varying effects on matrix stiffness with fibroblasts degrading the constructs while keratinocytes increased the construct's stiffness. CONCLUSION: This 3D in vitro wound healing model is a step towards developing a mimetic construct that recapitulates the complex microenvironment of healing wounds and could aid in the early studies of novel therapeutics that promote migration and proliferation of epithelial cells.

Factors related to the intention of healthy eating behaviors based on the theory of planned behavior: focused on adults residing in Beijing, China

  • Purpose: The theory of planned behavior (TPB) was used to investigate how the psychological constructs of attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control (PBC) affect the individual intention of behaviors in adults. Social support is also important in enabling the stability of healthy eating. This study examined the relationship between three major constructs of TPB as well as social support and the intention of healthy dietary behaviors in adults residing in Beijing, China using the extended TPB. Methods: The study questionnaire was based on previously validated items and an online survey was conducted from October to November 2020. Using a total of 244 Chinese adults in Beijing, multiple linear regression analysis was used to test the relationships between three major constructs of TPB as well as the social support and intention of healthy eating. Results: Among the three major constructs of TPB, subjective norms (p = 0.044) and PBC (p = 0.000) were significantly related to the behavioral intention of healthy eating (p = 0.000), and the model explained 76.6% of the variance of the behavioral intention from the three constructs of TPB included in the multiple linear regression model. The additional inclusion of social support to the model did not increase the explanatory power of the model to describe the behavioral intention of healthy eating. The subjective norms (p = 0.040) and PBC (p = 0.000) were still significant where social support did not explain the variance of the behavioral intention adequately. Conclusion: The subjective norms and PBC may be potential determinants of the behavioral intention of healthy eating in adults residing in Beijing, China. These study results can be used to promote healthy eating in Chinese adults living in urban areas. Large-scale intervention studies will be needed to determine if social norms and PBC predict the actual behaviors of healthy eating in Chinese adults.

  • As education environment is changing rapidly and competition of education industry is more intensive, the importance of service view about education is increasing as a differential competitive advantage. This study attempted to investigate the impact of service convenience as a different competitive advantage on e-learning acceptance by using TAM. The purpose of this study is to examine how five-dimensional service convenience constructs(decision convenience, access convenience, transaction convenience, benefit convenience, post-benefit convenience) affect consumers' perceived usefulness, attitude and usage intention. For this study, data were gathered from respondents who bought or used e-learning services and analyzed by structural equation model. Among the five-dimensional service convenience constructs, two constructs(benefit convenience, post-benefit convenience) affected consumers' positive perceived usefulness, attitude and usage intention about e-learning service. The results show that management and investment to improve benefit and post-benefit service convenience make consumers' positive attitude and usage intention about e-learning service.
