Accelerated Weathering Test of Urethane Paint for Heavy Construction Equipment (중장비용 우레탄 도료 내후성 가속시험)

  • Recently, new aspects of paints such as a beautiful appearance, use of environmentally friendly paints, etc., in addition to the superior performance of paints have been requested for industrial paints including the paints for heavy construction equipment and others. Particularly, the quality of appearance of coating affects the sales of heavy construction equipment. And the necessity for the paints to have a superior weather-proof property without changing the luster or color even after long-time exposure to the open air is emphasized. The change in the surface color and luster of the paint due to the natural environment progresses very slowly, and it takes a long time to verify material properties when developing new paints. In order to improve such methods, weathering tests are performed in many laboratories as a test for accelerating aging of coating, and the lifetime of the products is estimated through evaluation of the weathering (environment-proof) quality of paints. However, not a great deal of research activity has been conducted up to the present time since the interrelationship between the actual results of testing and field data is different for each paint and it takes a long time to study relevant materials. Therefore, introduced in the present study is the estimation of the change in the quality of appearance of coating in the field through the accelerated aging test among the cases of improvement of the quality of appearance of the urethane paint for heavy construction equipment.

Characteristics Analysis of the Fluid Power System for a Double-color Injection Molding Machine Development (이색 사출성형기 개발을 위한 유압시스템의 특성 검토)

  • Double-color Injection molding machine is the assembly of many kinds of mechanical, fluid power part and electric electronic control system. From in these, fluid power is a part where becomes the first core of this machine. Fluid power systems of double-color injection molding machine are modelled and analyzed using a commercial program AMESim. Partial system models which is divided according to functional operation are made and its analysis results shows how design parameters work on operational characteristics like pressure, flow rates, displacement at each node and so on. Analysis modeling and compared the data which gets from experiment and the analysis result which has a reliability got data. The results made by analysis will be used design of fluid power circuit for developing a double-color injection molding machine.

  • In the millenium, which will be characterized by its global culture, a strong sense of identity of one's culture is needed to nature one's culture in a way that more people can participate in creating, enjoying and consuming it. In order to respond to both globalization and localization, natural and cultural backgrounds of such should be considered in the conversation of nature, so that the optical and color environment can have local identity while undergoing sustainable development. Therefore, the objective of this research is to enhance the image of a city, which is endowed with beautiful scenery and unique culture, but has lost its identity since industrialization An through a scientific and systematic color planning The Research was conducted as follows. First, color environment which doesn't reflect local characteristics due to modernism which emphasizes on uniformity was examined. Second, standard and analysis of environment color planning were examined. Natural color specimen was use to make a palette of nature colors, from which colors for architecture were extracted to come up with color combination types. Without traditional architecture philosophy, materials and colors, which were once in harmony with the environment, it is impossible to clean up the environment all together. However by using colors to control new city plans, urban redevelpment, construction and renovation gradually, that process can be effective and less costly.

Construction of Confusion Lines for Color Vision Deficiency and Verification by Ishihara Chart

  • This paper proposes color databases that can be used for various purposes for people with a color vision deficiency (CVD). The purpose of this paper is to group colors within the sRGB gamut into the CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ color space using the Brettel algorithm to simulate the representative colors of each group into colors visible to people with a CVD, and to establish a confusion line database by comparing colors that might cause confusion for people with different types of color vision deficiency. The validity of the established confusion lines were verified by using an Ishihara chart. The different colors that confuse those with a CVD in an Ishihara chart are located in the same confusion line database for both protanopia and deutanopia. Instead of the 3D RGB color space, we have grouped confusion colors to the CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ space coordinates in a more distinctive and intuitive manner, and can establish a database of colors that can be perceived by people with a CVD more accurately. Assessment of Seawater Color by Digital Photographic Imaging (수색표준액과 해면의 디지털 화상 분석에 의한 수색판정)

  • The purpose of this study was the development of a digital water color measurement system using a CCD optical device. Photographs of the standard medium of Forel and Ule water color scales in the laboratory, and one of sea surface above a Secchi disc (Z=SD/2) immersed in seawater were taken. The colors of these pictures were estimated with the value of CIE $L^*a^*b^*$. Water color assessment was conducted with a digital photo-image. In the case of the Forel scale (No. 1-11), the $b^*$ value was so high that the water color number was large. In the Ule scale (No.11-21), the $a^*$ value became high, which is why the number on the water color scale was large. The color of these pictures showed that the $a^*$ value in the Forel scale and the $b^*$ value in the Ule scale increase with the increase of the F value. The $a^*$ value of seawater color was always lower than the one on the Forel and Ule water color scales. This indicates that the color of the scales differs from actual seawater color. It was concluded that water color number can more effectively be assessed by estimating the ${\Delta}Eab^*$ color difference between the water scales and actual seawater color.

The Color Palette for Planning Exterior Colors of the Apartment in Seoul Area (서울지역 아파트 외장색채 계획을 위한 색채팔레트)

  • Apartment exterior colors have an important effect on the images of cities and communities. Therefore planning the apartment exterior colors have to proceed systematically and synthetically based on the theoretical background. In this research, the first step is to investigate the apartment exterior colors which is located around the Han River in Seoul. And the second step is to survey the images of the S construction company in Korea. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The trends of apartment exterior colors on the basis of 1996 are showed differently. Bright and high saturation colors are more used after 1996, and divers color combinations are more tried than before. 2. Common customer Has positive images about the S construction company such as young, fresh, confidence and smart. Also they want the other images such as comfort, ease and coziness. 3. Two color combination palettes were proposed in this research. The first color combination is blue and yellow which is based on the dear and smart images. And the second color combination is green and orange which is based on the comfort and ease images.

  • This study investigates the fundamental properties of the color concrete corresponding to the various types and contents of the coloring agent. For the properties of the fresh, the flow is gradually decreased corresponding to increasing of the coloring agent, and it is approached to the target flow on $3{\sim}6%$ of the adding amounts. The air content is increased in accordance with the increase of the coloring agent. For the properties of the hardened concrete, the compressive strength is increased about 9 and 12% in the case that $3{\sim}6%$ of red and yellow coloring agents is mixed. And they are decreased when white and black coloring agents. The chromaticity of red $(a^*)$ and yellow $(b^*)$ is appropriate at 6% of the adding amounts, and luminosity of the white and black is also favorable because of economy at 6%, so the formative article is manufactured successfully to aim in the result of this study.

  • Cool roof coating materials generally use white color which has the highest reflectance, but it is a tendency to apply various colors because it can cause glare and fatigue of a nearby building user due to the urban beauty and high reflection. This study when applying color diversity material cool roof coating was carried out as a basic research for the degree of solar radiation reflectance change. Experiment result. As a result of the measurement of the reflectance of each specimen, white showed the best reflectance in the near infrared region, and black had the lowest reflectance. Also, in case of brown, it was confirmed that the reflectance of solar radiation in the near extrinsic region is lower than that of gray.

  • We study on the segregation reduction effect of Self-Leveling Color Mortar by using variable composition set of plasticizer and thickener, Naphthalene, melamine and polycarbonate-based dispersants were employed as plasticizers for examining on fluidity of mortar mixtures. For enhancement of mortar stability without loss of it's fluidity, two types of thickener were used such as polysaccharide(PS) and hydroxyethylcellulose(HEC). As a result, the most effective mortar was composed by feeding 0.519% of polycarbonate-based dispersant with 0.002587% of PS and 0.155844% of HEC on amount of basic mortar.

  • Early-frost damages easily take place in smaller and thinner walls and slabs. In case of slabs, it is difficult to visually determine the depth of early-frost damage. As such, the current study aims to determine the depth of early-frost damage caused to concrete structures due to bad curing in the winter. As a result, the study found that the depth of early-frost damages increased from the top as the atmospheric temperature on the concrete surface decreased. The changes in the color allowed the observer to easily identify the depth of early-frost damage with the naked eye. In particular, the color difference between potentially damaged parts and undamaged parts were the greatest around thirty minutes of drying after wetting.
