The Dispute Resolution Method on The FIDIC Form of Construction Projects (건설 사업에서 FIDIC 규정의 분쟁해결 방법)

  • Globalization of business activities and the market is making intern ational movement of capital much freer. Therefore the introduction of global standard is inevitable. Each and every country has had its own standard which restrain free exchange and cause misunderstanding and conflict between countries. A country or a company which is not capable of meeting the global standard can not be accepted in the global market. Consequently, it will eventually be left behind. It is right to say that countries and companies should accept the global standard and abide by it to survive in the competitive global market. The following preface which was introduced in the international conference co_organised by BAC, FTCTC and Tsinghua University in May, 2004 shows a timely movement for the globalization of construction business. *B A C, Beijing Arbitration Commission *FTCTC, The FIDIC-Tsinghua-CNAEC Training Center *CNAEC, China National Association of Engineering Consultants Introduction, As arbitration becomes more and more popular in the ways of alternative disputes resolution all over the world, the BAC is devoted to promoting international arbitration in China. As FIDIC contracts constitute an accepted point of reference for international construction contract, the BAC, characteristic of construction projects, is willing to facilitate the FIDIC contracts as the referred construction contracts in China. In order to carry out its purposes, the BAC, together with FTCTC is going to convene for discussion of dispute resolution and arbitration of international construction projects. FIDIC, construction contract management guide, explains arbitration as the ultimate dispute resolution method. The detail of FIDIC will be suggested in this essay.

  • In our country, the application of the design method of face to face dimension in wall-slab apartment has passed 10 years. So MC(Modular Coordination) design method has fixed in the design step to some degree. In Design and Work Execution of House the exclusive area of the apartment was calculated by face to face dimension. And the term of face to face dimension was known broadly to clients, construction company, etc. But design method of face to face dimension is not to simply extend the room size so far as wall depth in design process but to ensure the actual space should be considered with efficient use and assembly of building components. That is to say, Design method of face to face dimension is not to be defined by design step but to be related with construction and maintenance. However in construction process the point of face to face design method was not understood even now. So the purpose of this study was to extract the effect and question of face to face design method in construction process by survey of actual condition of structure and construction quality, and compare this result with existing construction method. The following project of this study is to survey of actual condition of interior components such as gypsum board, windows & doors etc. Therefore this study is to induce architectural long-life through architectural standardization construction and component's exchange, and, by the subject of the study on Apartment to have design guideline and basis for joining part between Gypsumboard and windows.

  • 135 Degree standard hook workability crossed in the Reinforced Concrete (RC) Structure is improved and it reinforces in one side 90° hook binding. As a result, we proposed a One-touch Rebar Reinforcing Clip(RCC Device) that demonstrates the same performance as the 135° standard hook. It was developed through the evaluation of construction and economic analysis. As a result of analyzing 13 sites applied from June 2020, As expected, most of the cases were applied to the structural supervision or the point of the construction supervisor as an irresistible measure. therefore, Through field performance analysis, Various methods such as the method that the original contractor first purchases and then provides after contract with the partner company were proposed for the use of efficient and voluntary reinforcing clip. As a result, It is expected that the contribution in the field will be very high in terms of quality and process management through active utilization.

  • Construction work in island areas requires the materials to be transported by ship and plane, and it causes an increase in the construction costs. In addition, the construction work near marine zones may produce the marine pollution due to the harmful substances in the cement. Recently, nature-friendly construction materials are increasingly used, and there is a need to select and develop appropriate construction materials. In this study, the compressive strength, tensile strength, flow and chloride content of the mortar mixed with cement and muddy tidal flat were measured to reduce the amount of cement by applying the natural materials, muddy tidal flat and marine sand, and the results were provided as the basic construction material data.

  • The purpose of this study is to present the standard risk index according to work type in the bridge construction without regard to the bridge type. The bridge construction cases were researched on the actual condition. construction accidents were investigated from 1998 to 2005. In this paper, we developed a standard risk index for efficient bridge construction safety system.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the way of automatic building code checking for architectural drawings in the web environment to enhance the utility of CALS/EC standard drawings and efficiency of construction industry business. To fulfil this aim, the authors seek to standardize the architectural drawing automatic checking system by linked drawing information to the STEP based CALS/EC standard format. Therefore, the automatic building code checking system can represent a way of utilizing the relationship between the construction CALS/EC standard drawings and the related study as well as improve the efficient of the construction work by sharing a variety of drawing information.

  • A comprehensive research effort in order to develop and disseminate modernized Korean housing (Hanok) has recently been initiated by Korean government. This large scale research project encompasses a wide spectrum of housing development including public policy, architectural plans, modules, construction materials and methods, prefabricated assemblies, automated production, construction management, and advanced information systems. For the purpose of integrating and automating the whole processes from an industry perspective, it is of great importance to develop a standard classification system and project numbering system (PNS) for the modernized Korean housing. This paper focuses on the standard classification systems and PNS for cost and schedule control. The distinct characteristics and managerial requirements were explored and embedded into the proposed classifications for modernized Hanok.

  • The ultimate objective of this research is to develop the technologies for the construction of 100-year housing as the first task for improving housing environments. The technological development of 100-year housing makes it possible to advance construction technologies and part development, to develop long-life housing with durability and Flexibility responding to customers' needs for future living space. At first, for this purpose, the applications according to the types of the Standard Model of Long-life Housing are proposed to respond to the life-cycle of near-future demographic and social structure, and the construction of the Mock-up House execute based on the location selected during the 2nd year and the basic plan. Then the Standard Model of Long-life Housing are advanced and proposed through evaluating the field applicability of the Mock-Up House.

  • This study has established an appraisal standard to select VE subject when they evaluate of design VE by using of a qualify model in an early design step and has suggested an improvement method for importance's estimation method of an appraisal standard. An importance's estimation method is to arrangement of geometric average method using an AHP method to this study, When an evaluation of a quality model, we estimate an importance by establishing of an appraisal standard of economics, construction, security, environmental influence, maintenance, etc.

  • Research on the "Modernized Korean traditional housing" (Hanok) has been actively studied in succeeding to Korean traditional housing and providing the public with housing that required for modernized life style. The purpose of this study is to classify work sections for Hanok specifications. This paper analyzed the concepts and characteristics of existing specifications. It was found that the absence of standard classifications is one of the causes of missing work items and mixed scopes. Also, the contents of carpentry works have low level of details. Therefore, Hanok specifications, in this study, are required to have upper level standards and to encompass traditional and new construction methods. Further research will develop standard classifications, standard codes, and automated systems of Hanok specifications for improving quality and effectiveness.
