Integrating multi-trade works system helps to reduce to minimize the conflict of subcontract business and improve communication to increase productivity of construction. However it takes such a big risk if subcontract of integrating multi-trade works went bankrupt during the project so some of construction companies executed to only small project and it's not sufficient to adopt overall project. This paper suggested the improvement scheme of work classification integrating multi-trade works, which takes a consideration into work zoning in order to apply current work situation.
A construction project's period is limited by the order manufacture. And a construction project is requested a specific place, and has the characteristic to be irregular. Today, construction is to be representative high-cost and low-efficiency. This kind of problems appears in small construction projects more often than large construction projects. According to this facts, we recognized necessity of making practical application in methods of construction management. Also, we suggest application and establishment of integrated responsibility management department, PMIS(Project Management Information System) and Data Base. From now on, methods of construction management could be good opportunities for small construction projects and local construction companies. Therefore, small and local construction companies should try to improve their abilities. Likewise, the countries systematize to constitute the relation laws.
Recently, the need for smart construction technologies related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution has been increasing in order to improve productivity of the construction industry. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has established Smart construction technology road map to commercialize the smart construction, and research and development is also underway. However, due to the lack of cost estimation standards for such smart construction technologies to be deployed to actual sites, smart construction technologies are not actively applied to construction sites. In particular, cost estimation standards are needed for construction machinery equipment with ICT technology that is currently available for commercialization. Therefore, as a preliminary study for the development of smart construction cost estimation standards, a case study was conducted on ICT construction estimation standards in Japan and present them as basic data for standards in Korea.
Construction schedule acceleration due to unreasonable construction planning frequently leads to construction accidents. In order to avoid such inevitable acceleration and to ensure safety in construction sites, there is a need for objective standards to determine appropriate construction duration for each construction process earlier in the process. In order to achieve the goal, intensive experts interviews were firstly conducted to identify candidate drivers affecting construction schedule of road tunnel excavation works. Then, a total of 34 field data was collected from on-going sites to analyze. It was found that actual excavation length per one day on site is varied mostly by Rock Mass Rating(RMR) types from various statistical analyses. Therefore an one-way table of excavation length per a day by RMR types were presented in a form of percentile. The results will help industry experts determine the most appropriate construction schedule for the works, which eventually lead to a zero accident site in many ways.
The purpose of this study is to find out how construction sites workers experience adaptation processes in relation to the prevention of safety accidents in the workplace through the method of grounded theory. In order to understand the experience of preventing safety accidents of workers at construction sites, a grounded theory analysis method was chosen. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, the first questionnaire was sent to 17 people working in the construction site by e-mail, and the participants of the study were met one by one for in-depth interviews. As a result of this study, the paradigm model of the experience of preventing safety accidents of workers at construction sites was classified into causal conditions, contextual conditions, central phenomena, intervening conditions, action/interactions, and outcomes. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, forming a safety culture that can improve the safety awareness of construction sites is a priority. Second, it is necessary to improve self-management capabilities so that construction workers can accurately diagnose their current state such as their own body, emotion, and cognition and provide appropriate safety education. Third, providing safety education for construction workers with negative thoughts or distorted beliefs about safety accidents needs to include psychological treatment and counseling, such as methods of emotional purification, methods of relieving and managing stress, and methods of removing trauma.
The current architectural design of unit modular has been based on 2D of CAD program, so unit modular character which needs unit information management, as a dried-member system, has no effect on design process. The purpose of this study is We have developed a suitable BIM design process, according to various works of construction, then tried to contribute to supply and activation of the urban-life-housing based on unit modular. The BIM modeling process based on unit modular has been in order of unit combination with preparing manual classification, and, it has been constructed, at construction site, from housing foundation to roof finish by Bottom-up method. At a manufacturing factory, it has been produced in order of 1) grouping materials and parts, 2) fabricating unit boxes, and 3) interference examination of unit boxes, and each order has been classified as housing structure, architecture, plumbing process separately. At a construction site, the fabrication has been done in order of, like as a real housing construction scenario, 1) RC foundation work 2) unit module job-site-fabrication work, 3) roof truss work, 4) plumbing and HVAC work, and 5) housing interior finish work. After modeling process, the interference examination on each work of construction has finally completed modeling. The Unit modular utilizing BIM modeling can make easy housing maintenance through systematic control with preparing manual of unit module information, and securing accurate and speedy construction information. And it will promote design credibility and create maximum effect of unit modular construction method, such as construction period reduction and upgrade of construction quality, etc., through the computer simulation as real as construction environment in cyber space, and with the interfering examination.
The construction liability type CM has been introduced in the form of a pilot project through public institutions since 2017 since it was introduced in the term of construction responsibility type construction project management in the Basic Law of Construction Industry in 2011 with the aim of improving the constitution of the Korean construction industry and strengthening global competitiveness. Through the introduction of construction-responsible CM, the government intends to change the paradigm of the overall construction industry, including design and construction, construction costs, disputes between stakeholders, and transparency of business. In this regard, the study aims to compare and analyze the evaluation methods on the bidding guide that public institutions (LH) are currently using to select companies in order to lay the foundations for successful construction of construction-responsible CM ordering methods.
For the purpose of automatic management and enhancing quality of construction, information technology has been employed in construction field recently. As a consequence, informative construction, which utilizes information technology to reduce construction time and optimize construction sequence, becomes a state-of-art field of construction. Considering this case, construction field should more actively adopt other engineering technologies of rapidly advancing fields, such as electronic, control, and informative engineering, in order to reduce construction cost and to solve environmental problems as well as to enhance construction quality. In this aspect, this paper introduces a novel research field 'Geo-mechatronics', which stands for the convergence of geotechnical engineering and mechatronics (i.e. automation of mechanics using electronic technologies). Since the ground is ubiquitous in every infrastructure construction, the Geo-mechatronics research is crucial for the development of construction technology in the future. Moreover, it is believed to that the Geo-mechatronics research will make our construction industry to be more future-oriented and internationally comparative industry.
During the last few decades, several companies and research laboratories have developed construction robots in an effort to improve productivity, quality, and reduce construction time and safety concerns. Recently, domestic construction industry is also interested in developing the construction robots. However, the studies on the research and development process is impossible in real field. A existing research's object is the development of the research on the assumption that construction's environment is a fixed form, But real construction's environment is very dynamic and atypical. So it is very difficult that we apply construction automation and robots. In order to solve this problem, this study deduce influential factors on decision making of frame construction scheduling for automated construction.
