  • Construction of metro transportation infra is a large-scale project requiring tremendous financial resources. This study suggests operation method to use for rapid transit line existing infra such as Gyeongbu line and spare line capacity following second phase KTX construction. Reviewing various constraints of metro rapid transit operation, we found that the conditions for metro rapid transit operation are already satisfied in Daegu area, just like the case of Gyeongbu line in Seoul Metro area. Also, the evaluation of the economic feasibility of metro rapid transit operation in Daegu area shows that B/C is about 2.4, which implies that there is sufficient economic feasibility. According to the result of sensitivity analysis, the project is economically feasible unless the passenger demand decreases 15% and construction costs increases more than 70%. B/C is evaluated large because the utilization of already exiting infra lowers the initial cost. As one of mass transportation system of large capacity, metro rapid transit can generate significant spillover effect: It will strengthen competitiveness of metro area by connecting cities within the area and by extending one-day life zone of the area, to say nothing of the benefit of improving traffic condition. The construction of metro rapid transit network is necessary for the mass transportation system of Yeongnam area as well as Daegu area, and it may work as a starting point for uniting Daegu and Gyeongbuk and strengthening regional competitiveness.

  • In this paper, The investment prioritization model was investigated for keeping the service level of mooring facilities more than the target level of management with a limited budget in the right time. Network level prioritization criteria of the national scale was developed to take into criteria index and quantitative evaluation, management authority's opinion. Delphi method was conducted maintenance exports of mooring facilities over twice for verifying the validity and adequacy. In order to improve the objectivity of criteria, the criteria for evaluating the utilization of port facilities is presented form yearly facility traffic/facility's length, the result of the analysis of facility traffic data. The investment prioritization criteria of mooring facilities is expected to be utilized for more efficient and national budget distribution applied to the maintenance budget plan of nationwide.

  • In this study, a hybrid floating structure with cylinder was introduced to reduce the hydrodynamic motions of the pontoon type. The hybrid floating structure is composed of cylinders and semi-opened side sections to penetrate the wave impact energy. In order to exactly investigate the hydrodynamic motions and structural behavior of the hybrid floating structure under the wave loadings, integrated analysis of hydrodynamic and structural behavior were carried out on the hybrid floating structure. Firstly, the hydrodynamic analyses were performed on the hybrid and pontoon models. Then, the wave-induced hydrodynamic pressures resulting from hydrodynamic analysis were directly mapped to the structural analysis model. And, finally, the structural analyses were carried out on the hybrid and pontoon models. As a result of this study, it was learned that the hybrid model of this study was showed to have more favorable hydrodynamic motions than the pontoon model. The surge motion was indicated even smaller motion at all over wave periods from 4.0 to 10.0 sec, and the heave and pitch motions indicated smaller motions beyond its wave period of 6.5 sec. However, the hybrid model was shown more unfavorable structural behavior than the pontoon model. High concentrated stress occurred at the bottom slab of the bow and stern part where the cylinder wall was connected to the bottom slab. Also, the hybrid model behaved with the elastic body motion due to weak stiffness of floating body and caused a large stress variation at the pure slab section between the cylinder walls. Hence, in order to overcome these problems, some alternatives which could be easily obtained from the simple modification of structural details were proposed.

  • Acoustic and pressure type seabed installed wave sensors have advantage in observing long period infra-gravity wave and tsunami, while buoy type wave gauges which measure acceleration of the moored buoy motion are not able to detect long period waves. That's why most of the Japanese coastal wave observation sensors are seabed installed typed ones. Nationwide Japanese coastal wave observation systems with seabed installed sensors are gradually clarifying long-period tsunami profiles and infra-gravity wave characteristics (Nagai.et.al., 1996, 1997,2000,2002a,2002b). • The Integration technique of combining the measurement method with the fine precision of the sensor collecting the satellite-based information to determine the displacement space is available to a variety of diagnostic information. The measurement method by a GNSS with the sensors is needed since there will always be occasional occurrence of natural disasters caused by various environmental factors and the surroundings. Such attempts carried out nationally by distributed torsional displacement of the terrain and facilities. The combination of the various positioning analysis of mm-class for the facility of main area observed is required constantly in real time information of the USN/IoT Smart sensors and should be able to utilize such information as a precisely fine positioning information for the precisely fine displacement of the semi-permanent main facilities. In this study, for the installation of the receiving system, the USN/IoT base line positioning are easily accessible for the target bridges. Transmitting hourly from the received data is also executed in real time using the wireless Wi-Fi/Bluetooth bridges and related facilities to automatically process a fine position displacement. The results obtained from this method can be analyzed by real-time monitoring for a large structure or facilities for disaster prevention.
