  • Construction operations generate a significant amount of air pollutant emissions, including carbon emissions. The environmental performance of construction operations is closely relevant to the operational efficiency of each resource employed, which indicates how efficiently each resource (e.g., construction equipment) is utilized. In this context, monitoring the operational efficiency of construction equipment provides key information in managing and improving the environmental performance and productivity of construction operations. In this paper, we report our efforts to measure the operational efficiency of construction equipment, using low-cost accelerometers. An experimental study and real-world case studies are conducted to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed approach. The results have shown the potential of this approach as an economically feasible means of monitoring the environmental performance of construction operations.

국내 중소건설업체의 효율성 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation of Efficiency in the Korean Small and Medium sized Construction Firms)

  • In this study, we evaluate the efficiency of Construction Industry using Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA). Since the Construction Industry has been traditionally operated through competition, it is important to measure the efficiency. In this paper, we empirically analyze the Efficiency of the 50 Korean Construction Industry. In detail, we used the scale of efficiency in order that efficiency cannot be affected by the total technical efficiency of each company and the scale of DMU by applying CCR or BBC model. Also, we analyzed the changes of measurement DEA model score. we adopted the basic DEA, RTS Region and MPSS(Most Productive Scale Size) method which are combined with efficiency measurement model in order to analyze the operational status. Furthermore, by complementing the shortfalls of the scale efficiency value of the DEA Model, RTS Region Model can be recommended to be appropriate in the evaluation of ideal input/output Quantity. In particular, input variables are total assets, construction capacity, the technical staff and output variables are sales volume, operating income. The result of RTS Region and MPSS shows that 9 DMUs of the efficiency frontier in the Construction Industry are analyzed to be relatively efficient DMUs, and 41 DMUs are analyzed to be inefficient DMUs, and finally inefficient DMUs are separated with Region 1 and Region 6.

공동주택 지하 주차장 기초형식 선정방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Selection Method of Foundation Type in the Underground Parking Lot of Apartments)

  • Normally easy task of plat in urban architecture is that using underground full of activities for increase building site efficiency. Especially for using underground space for the parking lot. Also utilize underground is more increase for fulfill requirement in modern society considered with environmental friendly architecture. The primary objective of this study is to apply analyzed formal foundation type for selecting the optimum type of parking lots considered with structural stability, economical efficiency, construction efficiency, construction duration. This study aim to on criteria decided through the questionaries for the selection considered with in the scale of second stories parking lots underground, parking volume is 80 and reinforced concrete structure. The bearing capacity is 6~8m and downward from surface, healthy ground bearing capacity is 40 t/m2. This study comparative analysis and discuss economical efficiency, construction efficiency, construction duration based constructivist stability which applied Single foundation, Mat foundation, Drop Mat foundation. The result of this study is as follows: First, the result of economical efficiency is that on the basis of single foundation, Drop Mat foundation is 1.88, Mat foundation 2.04 as a comparative analysis on the basis of total construction cost included material cost, labor coast and machinery cost. Second, the result of construction efficiency order is single foundation, Drop Mat foundation, Mat foundation as a comparative analysis on the based connected characteristics. Third, the result of construction duration is that on the basis of Mat Foundation, Drop Mat foundation is 1.33, single foundation is 1.87 as a comparative analysis Critical Path. Forth, Each foundational type characteristics order through the matrix method is that overall each formal type of foundation contraries at economical efficiency and construction efficiency, construction duration. Also expect contradiction between engineers and owners due to engineer pursuit construction duration and ewer to begin with economical efficiency. Fifth, The selection of suitable foundation formal type needs that based consider project characteristic and field condition as according to above result of a comparative analysis. As a result, a comparative analysis economical efficiency, construction efficiency, construction duration of Mat foundation, Drop Mat foundation, single foundation with 3Bay reinforced structure underground parking lots on the healthy ground.

  • To improve the cost performance of construction sites, various systems and standards are constantly being developed and implemented. Although legal requirements for these system and standard improvements have been increasing, the cost efficiency performance of construction sites remains stagnant. We have digitized documents generated through construction supervision work at 39 building construction sites and proposed a model that can support decision-making in cost efficiency evaluation. This model selects key keywords that are considered to be highly related to cost efficiency by identifying the patterns and relationships of keywords through associated rule analysis and social network analysis using keywords derived from documents. In addition, it is expected to be used as a decision-making aid to determine the cost efficiency of a specific building construction site by establishing a logistic regression model using core keywords. As a systematic database of construction supervision documents and an integrated system of massive data generated by digital technology are established in the future, the accuracy and reliability of the cost efficiency evaluation model are expected to be reinforced.

전문건설업 유형별 효율성 분석 연구 (A Study on the Efficiency Analysis of Specialty Construction Industry Type)

  • 본 연구는 전문건설업체의 경쟁력을 평가하기 위해 DEA모형을 활용하여 효율성을 분석하였다. 분석대상기업은 전문건설업 상장업체와 외감업체로 2010년부터 2017년까지 연속자료가 존재하는 300개 기업을 대상으로 하였다. 특히, 전문건설업 유형별 효율성을 비교, 분석하여 그 시사점을 찾는데 중점을 두었다. 의미 있는 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전문건설업체의 효율성은 전반적으로 종합건설업 등과 비교하면 효율성 값이 낮게 분석되었다. 둘째, 전문건설업 유형별 효율성은 시설물축조 및 해체 전문공사업이 가장 높게 나타났다. 이는 해당 업종인 철근 콘크리트공사업, 비계 구조물해체공사업 등이 전문건설업 내에서 상대적으로 효율적임을 의미한다. 셋째, 전문건설업 효율성은 건설경기에 영향을 받는다. 건설경기가 확장국면에 있을 때는 효율성 값이 높고, 수축국면에서는 낮은 효율성 값을 나타내었다. 마지막으로 규모수익성 분석에서 전문건설업은 DRS로 분석되는 경우가 가장 많았다. 이는 규모 확대보다 규모 축소를 통해 기업의 효율성을 높이는 것이 바람직하다는 것을 의미한다.

  • A large-scale construction project relies much on the efficiency of construction equipment. Therefore, efficient and accurate measurement on the productivity of construction equipment is one of important task in the construction industry. Based on the motivation, this paper proposes a 11-axis composite sensor for an automatic measurement of construction equipment. A 11-axis composite sensor is composed of a gyroscope, geomagnetic and accelerometer sensor for the purpose of real-time motion captures of construction equipment. It is expected that the proposed system can save considerable time, effort and cost of measuring a efficiency of construction equipment.

자료포락분석을 이용한 한국과 일본 건설기업의 상대적 효율성 분석 (Measuring Relative Efficiency of Korean and Japanese Construction Firms Using Data Envelopment Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 비모수적 효율성 분석기법인 자료포락분석을 이용하여 ENR의 'Top 250 Global Contractors 2014'에 포함된 한국 7개 건설기업과 일본 8개 건설기업을 대상으로 14년간(2000년-2013년)의 효율성을 비교분석하여 한국 건설기업의 경쟁력을 평가하였다. 효율성 분석결과, 한국 건설기업은 IT버블붕괴와 글로벌 금융위기의 여파로 효율성이 일시적으로 낮아지기는 하였으나, 2006년 이후부터 2012년까지 일본 건설기업과의 효율성의 차이가 더 심해진 것으로 나타났다. 건설기업별 효율성 분석결과, 2000년에 비해 2013년 한국 건설기업의 효율성은 높아졌으나, 일본 건설기업의 경우, 낮아진 것으로 분석되었다. 이러한 결과는 한국 건설기업은 종업원수와 매출액은 작지만 일본 건설기업보다 효율적으로 운영되고 있다는 것을 의미한다.

건설현장 안전관리 인력투입에 대한 효율성 분석 (Efficiency Analysis of the Labor Input for Safety Management in Construction Sites)

  • This study analyzed the safety management efficiency through input-oriented BCC Model using DEA by making of Models, in which this study selected the number of staff affiliated with the construction site, number of staff members on the construction team, and number of safety personnel as Input Factor, along with the number of disaster victims and zero-accident accomplished hours as output elements, targeting 40-or-so apartment building construction sites which are being built by 3 domestic construction companies. As a result of efficiency, it was 0.643, the number of efficient DMU was 4. In the aspect of returns to scale, 21 construction sites(52.5%) found to be in a state of increasing returns while 14 construction sites(35%) was in a state of Decreasing returns. The reason for inefficiency was found to lie in technical factors in case of 30 construction sites(75%). Lastly, inefficient DMU is in need of 38.9 % and 66% reduction in site personnel and safety personnel. Based on study results, the 29 construction sites accounting for 72.5% of DMU for safety management efficiency evaluation object turned out to do inefficient safety management that doesn't fit the size of each company.

  • 현재 아파트 건설 산업의 경쟁적인 사업 환경으로 인해 아파트 건설기업의 파산 가능성은 더욱 높아졌다. 본 연구의 목적은 아파트 건설기업(상장기업)의 매출액과 당기순이익에 따른 효율성을 DEA분석기법으로 분석하는 것으로써 벤치마킹의 대상이 될 수 있는 아파트 건설기업의 효율성을 분석하였다. 총 25개 아파트 건설기업들의 CCR, BCC 효율성과 규모수익성(RTS)을 평가하였다. 또한 분석된 자료를 바탕으로 벤치마킹의 대상이 될 수 있는 아파트 건설기업을 제시하였다. 분석결과 CCR효율성이 1인 업체는 4개 기업, BCC효율성이 1인 업체는 10개 기업으로 분석되었다. 규모수익성은 IRS가 21개의 기업, CRS가 4개의 기업으로 분석되었다.

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the most reasonable design in the superstructure of an underground parking lot which needs to be considered with the economic efficiency being influenced on the subdivision price, construction duration, workability and the maintenance of crack and leakage status of apartment house. In this research, we've evaluated the fitness for the superstructure of an underground parking lot by examination of construction constraint, which was based on the calculated data of structural design and quantity survey. The results of this study are summarized as follows. 1. The system of the absent structure of beam is proper structure for economic efficiency, construction duration and workability, but it is disadvantageous at the side of maintenance efficiency because of the many part of large slab. In the opposite direction, the establishing structure of beam has the advantages of structural stability except economic efficiency, construction duration and workability 2. It's required a proper selection for the views being contrary to each other which the owners considers good quality, on the other hand, the contractors consider construction duration and workability. 3. In making a selection for the superstructure of an underground parking lot, we have concluded that it is the most important to choose the proper structure for the demanded performance by contrasting with two system. (2Bay or 3Bay)
