Korea's domestic construction market and overseas construction order environment are experiencing a decreasing trend, and this trend is expected to continue. Therefore, domestic construction companies are seeking to enter the global construction market. This study analyzes the global construction market and the global competitiveness for global construction companies and provides the results. To this end, this study has developed a model to evaluate the global construction competitiveness level and to evaluated global construction competitiveness in 2016. The evaluation of global construction competitiveness was analyzed based on the competitiveness of construction infrastructure by country, and the evaluation results of competitiveness of construction companies. These assessments were based on 20 detailed international statistics (ENR, Global Insight, Compass, etc.). The evaluation results are as follows. First, in regard to the comprehensive global construction competitiveness by country, America ranked first among 20 countries, followed by China. European countries like Spain, Germany and the Netherlands ranked third to fifth, respectively. Korea ranked sixth, one rank higher than that of the previous year. America and European countries remain strong. Second, in regard to the comprehensive building infrastructure competitiveness by country, America ranked first followed by Germany. Korea ranked twelfth, which is the same rank as that of the previous year. When it comes to stability in the construction market, China ranked first and Korea eighth. For construction systems, Sweden ranked first and Korea thirteenth, and for infrastructure, Japan ranked first and Korea tenth. Third, according to the construction company's capability evaluation by country, America ranked first followed by China. Korea ranked fourth, two ranks higher than that of the previous year because of its building competitiveness (fifth → fourth) and design competitiveness (eleventh → eighth) which has improved. When it comes to building competitiveness, China ranked first and Korea fourth. For design competitiveness, America ranked first and Korea eighth, and for price competitiveness, India ranked first and Korea seventh. However, Korea is still in the middle of the pack rank among the 20 countries considered when it comes to design competitiveness. It is ranked eleventh for design productivity and thirteenth for foreign sales against the total sales (internationalization). Thus, Korea needs to improve technical power and tap into new markets for improved competitiveness, including increased productivity. To do so, more R&D investment is required.

The purpose of this study is to develop and apply the oversea construction competitiveness evaluation model which measures the competitiveness of construction companies in global construction market. This model consists of the design and construction competitiveness indexes by ENR statistic data and provides the oversea construction competitiveness index based on the evaluation model.

The purpose of this study is to provide the basic data of government policy by evaluating the capacity of construction companies by country. As a result, Korea ranked 7th in construction competitiveness, 13th in design competitiveness, and 7th in price competitiveness among the 20 countries to be compared. As a result of evaluating the competitiveness of construction companies by country, Korea ranked 7th overall.

The purpose of this study is to provide the basic data of government policy by evaluating the capacity of construction companies by country. As a result, Korea ranked 13th in construction competitiveness, 20th in design competitiveness, and 7th in price competitiveness among the 20 countries to be compared. As a result of evaluating the competitiveness of construction companies by country, Korea ranked 15th overall.

The purpose of this study is to provide basic data of government policy by evaluating the competitiveness of construction infrastructures by country. The results of this study are as follows: Among the 20 countries, Korea ranked the 10th in the construction market stability, 12th in the construction system, and 10th in the infrastructure, 12th in the overall construction infrastructure competitiveness.

Korea construction industry needs to secure its competitiveness in global construction markets and to urgently find out the proper approaches in consideration of the current situation of Korean construction enterprises and environmental changes in the international market. Korea has national plan to improve the competitive level of the construction industry. Expecially, Government is trying to build the global system in construction industry. But there are no the related national competitive date. Therefore, this paper suggested national competitive indicators and development direction in construction industry. And this research has presented the competitiveness analysis of construction industry with the consideration of condition of infrastructure, transparency and technological competitiveness.

The purpose of this study is to derive enhancements in terms of construction enterprises to enhance the competitiveness of Korea's overseas construction companies. We have carried out a survey targeting international constriction engineers. s a research result, it was investigated that excellent construction engineers and improvement of construction management competitiveness was necessary. It was ability of financing development and development of international business organizations in construction sector. And it was design ability of FEED and ability of international marketing in design sector.

건설산업에 있어서 녹색 또는 그린(Green)은 차세대 신 성장동력의 핵심적인 키워드로 부상하고 있다. 녹색건설 경쟁력을 갖추는 것은 건설기업의 생존과 발전을 위해 중요하며 이를 위해 녹색건설 경쟁력 요인에 대한 이해는 필수적이다. 본 연구의 목적은 건설기업이 녹색건설 경쟁력을 확보하기 위해 요구되는 경쟁력 요인을 발굴하고 Gap 분석 기법을 통해 경쟁력 요인의 중요도와 현 수준을 분석하여 주요 특징과 시사점을 도출하는데 있다. 녹색건설 경쟁력 요인에 대한 이해는 건설기업의 녹색건설 전략 수립을 위한 선행 작업이며 동시에 녹색건설 관련 정책 및 제도 수립에 있어 건설기업에게 어떤 동기부여를 해야 하는지를 이해하기 위해 필수적이다. 본 연구를 통해 나타난 주요 결과를 요약하면, 첫째, 녹색건설 경쟁력의 중요도와 현 수준을 분석한 결과 중요도와 비교하여 현 수준이 모두 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 녹색건설 경쟁력의 중요도와 현 수준 관점에서 CEO 역량 부문은 큰 격차가 없는 것으로 나타났지만 기업 역량 부문에서는 큰 격차가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 녹색건설의 R&D 전략과 녹색건설 협력업체의 보유 및 협업 역량이 중요도와 현 수준의 차이(Gap)가 가장 크게 나타났다.

The objective of this study is an assessment of competitiveness in construction infrastructure by nation in order to provide preliminary data of government policy. Key results indicated that out of 23 countries, Korea's construction market size ranked 11th, construction market growth rate ranked 16th, market stability ranked 14th, construction risk ranked 4th, construction system ranked 10th, ICT ranked 1st. And Korea was ranked 10th in overall construction infrastructure competitiveness by nation.

The aim of this research is to provide a direction to benchmark advanced construction companies from Spain and France by deriving business strategies through SWOT analysis in order to strengthen overseas expansion and competitiveness of domestic construction companies.
