1. Purpose : Sasang constitutional herb medicine is known as specific to his own's constitution. So Other constitutional herb medicine can induce side effects. This study investigates the cause and side effects of other constitutional herb medicine. 2. Methods : Literature study was carried out with the chapters including harm to Other constitutions in the books "Dongyisasangjinryoeuijeon(東醫四象診療醫典)" and "Joeuihak(朝醫學)". And the causes of side effects were studied in terms of herbology and movements of Qi in Sasang constitutional medicine. 3. Results : Herb medicines of Taeeumin's have the dispersing Qi energy, so Soeumin could have side effects mostly and some of Soyangin could do. Herb medicines of Soeumin's have the warming Qi energy, so Soyangin could have side effects like dermatitis or fever. Herb medicine of Soyangin's have cooling Qi energy, so Soeumin could have side effects of digestive system like diarrhea and some of Taeeumin could do. 4. Conclusion : It is thought that herb medicine is safe and less harmful when herb medicine is prescribed and taken according to his own constitution.

1. Objectives The present study purposed to examine Taeumin after Sasang Constitutional medical treatment showed faster improvement in sneezing or rhinorrhea or nasal obstruction, the main symptoms of allergic rhinitis. 2. Methods One group treated by Sasang Constitutional medicine in allergic rhinitis patients of T aeumin is 20 cases. The other group treated by other herb medication in alletgic rhinitis patients of Taeumin is 15 cases. We analyzed the improvement of the main symptoms in 2 group who had allergic rhinitis for less than five years in the 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th week of treatment. 3. Results & Conclusions (1) Sneezing showed a significant decrease from the 6th week of treatment in the group treated by Sasang Constitutional medicine and from the 6th week in the group treated by other herb medication. (2) Rhinorrhea showed a significant decrease from the 2nd week of treatment in the group treated by Sasang Constitutional medicine and from the 4th week in the group treated by other herb medication. (3) Nasal obstruction showed a significant decrease from the 4th week of treatment in the group treated by Sasang Constitutional medicine and from the 4th week in the group treated by other herb medication. (4) Satisfaction with subjective symptoms was higher in the group treated by Sasang Constitutional medicine than in the group treated by other herb medication but the difference was not significant (p>0.01). (5) Change in total symptom score showed a significant decrease from the 2nd week in the group treated by Sasang Constitutional medicine and from the 4th week in the group treated by other herb medication(p>0.01).

1. Purpose This study was performed to find the objective Sasang Constitutional Diagnosis, The O-ring test is thought to be one of the several methods to classify constitution. But the O-ring test has several problems. I studied the Sasang Constitutional Diagnosis which is used by Pinch-Guage and Herb Drugs for alternative methods. 2. Methods I tested 89 person's grasping power with changing the medical herb which is exist on person's another hand. conclusion of the test was compared with that of QSCC II to confirm the significance of this study. 3. Results and conclusions Soyangin group, Taeumin group, Male Soyangin goup, Male Taeumin group and Male group have a significant result on converting grades statistically.

1. Objectives: The purpose of this study was done to compare Sasang Constitution diagnostic rate between taking Sasang Constitution herb medicine patients and non taking group. 2. Methods: We collected data from 430 patients who were visited at the Department of Sasang Constitution, College of Oriental Medicine, Dong-eui University from November 2006 to September 2010. We classified them into two group. One was taking Sasang Constitution herb medicine patients group, the other was non taking group. For Sasang Constitution Diagnosis, they all have done SSCQ-P questionnaire. and a Sasang Constitution specialist diagnosed constitution. According to reactions after taking herb medicine, the patients of taking group were confirmed their constitutions. We checked Sasang Constitution diagnostic rate from each groups'(the whole subjects, taking herb medicine patients group, non taking herb medicine patients group) discriminant function. And to find out Sasang Constitution diagnostic rate, we applied discriminant functions to each other. 3. Results and Conclusions: 1) The whole subjects' diagnostic accuracy rate was 72.07%. 2) Taking herb medicine group's diagnostic accuracy Rate was 75.08%. Non taking herb medicine group's diagnostic accuracy rate applied taking group's discriminant function was 61.60%. 3) Non taking herb medicine group's diagnostic accuracy rate was 81.06%. Taking herb medicine group's diagnostic accuracy rate applied taking group's discriminant function was 57.14%.

1. Objectives This study is written to investigate the biblographical facts on the book ${\ulcorner}$ Geumge Bibang${\lrcorner}$(Secret Prescriptions of Sasang (Golden Box). 2. Methods The Biblographical study through chronological research of several books concerning Sasang Constitutional Medicine including ${\ulcorner}$Dongyisusebowon${\lrcorner}$,${\ulcorner}$Dongyisasangjintyoeuijeon${\lrcorner}$after Dr. Lee Je-Ma's death was accomplished. 3. Results and Conclusions There are so many herb medicines using just one herb drug not several herb drugs according to many diseases in this book. Accrording to the writer of this book, Lee Min- Bong, JUSt one herb drug to each disease was a useful way to treat that disease in a poor countryside life. There are 85 adult's diseases, 8 women's diseases, 47 children's disease, 11 smallpox's diseases and 30 grotesque diseases. This book of ${\ulcorner}$Geumgebibang${\lrcorner}$ was written by Lee Minbong not by Cheondeoksanin in 1935 and published in 1936 and it was the first book covering the herb drug and diets to treat diseases according to Sasang Constitutional Types. It was first found in this book that Sasang could be explained with Yin- Yang relationship and Sasang Constitutional Types could be explained with characters like dragon, cow, donkey and horse, and with classrncatibn of faces and behaviors.

I think that the study on the ${\ulcorner}$DongMuSunSaSaSangYakSungSangHumGoGa${\lrcorner}$ of ${\ulcorner}$DongMuYooGo${\lrcorner}$ is basic material explaining the character of sasang-herb and prescription. Through the study on the ${\ulcorner}$DongMuSunSaSaSangYakSungSangHumGoGa${\lrcorner}$'s origin and meaning, I can take the result as follows. The first, that is composed of total 237 herbs of 90 spleen-herb (Soeumin-herb), 61 kidney-herb (Soyangin-herb), 67 lung-herb (Taeeumin-herb) and 19 liver-herb (Taeyangin-herb). The second, the origin of that is ${\ulcorner}$JeJungSinPyun${\lrcorner}$, ${\ulcorner}$BangYakHapPyun${\lrcorner}$ and ${\ulcorner}$EuiHakIpMum${\lrcorner}$. And DongMu classified traditional YakSungGa as spleen-herb, kidney-herb, lung-herb and liver-herb which is suitable to Sasangin, not created that. So we can know that the first understanding for DongMu' s herb is focused on the traditional YakSungGa. The third, DongMu's unique terminology of spleen-herb, kidney-herb, lung-herb and liver herb show his sight of symptom, disease and pharmacology, that is focused on small JangBu. The forth, through herb-nature gathered from traditional YakSungGa, that purposed to classfying each constitutional herb. So we can know his idea that the choice of herb is not in general efficacy but in personal constitution. As mentioned abovet, that can refer to an herbal argument of DongMu and ${\ulcorner}$DongMuYooGoYakSungGa${\lrcorner}$ that make known to be common can refer to an prescriptional argument of DongMu.

The purpose of this research was to investigate the inhibitory function among foods and herb drugs. I have gone over literatures of mainly ${\ll}$Eum-Sun-Jung-Yo(飮膳正要)${\gg}$ on the basis of ${\ll}$Dong-Eui-Bo-Gam (東醫寶鑑)${\gg}$ about the properties and flavors of foods and herb drugs. And then I came to get some conclusion as follows. 1. The foods mentioned above are meats, birds, fishes, spices and vegetables. 2. If the foods mentioned above were eaten for a long time, and then it can cause stirring Wind or Qi or Fire inside the body. 3. What it means in the context of the chapter ${\ulcorner}$Sik-Mul-Sang-Ban : Inhibitory Function Among Foods and Herb Drugs(食物相反)${\lrcorner}$ that 'Do not eat the paired foods or herb drugs at a same time' and 'Do not eat the paired foods or herb drugs together for a long time.' 4. The Cold natured foods were not eaten at a same time. 5. The Hot or Warm natured foods were not eaten at a same time. 6. The contrary natured foods were not eaten at a same time. Because they were eaten at a same time, it raise a Occurrence of Cold and Heat syndromes and a Qi disorder.

1. Purpose Through analysing simple herbs of "DongEuiBoGam JangBu", we compare JangBu of traditional oriental medicine with JangBu of Sasang Constitutional Medicine. So we can comprehend the JangBu's difference of traditional-oriental with sasang-constitional medicine. 2. Method We divide herbs into 4 sectors of sasang constitution by "DongMuYooGo", "DongEuiSuSeBoWon SinJunBang" and define constitutional herbs for each type of sasang constitution. On that base, we analyze herbs in "DongEuiBoGam JangBu" into sasang constitution, and compare with JangBu of sasang-constitution 3. Result (1) The simple herb of sasang-constition is over 50% at that of "DongEuiBoGam JangBu" (2) Only small intestine is consist of one-constitional herb, others is 2~4-constitional herb (3) At the simple herbs of "DongEuiBoGam JangBu", Soeumin's herbs many used at Spleen, Stomach, Urinary bladder, SamCho, Taeumin's herbs many used at Lung. At the Soeumin and Taemin, the Sasang JangBu of filling up BoMyungGiJu(保命之主) is connected with traditional JangBu. Soyangin's herbs many used at Heart, Gall bladder, Small intestine and there is no JangBu which Taeyangin's herbs many used. At the Soyangin and Taeyangin, the Sasang JangBu of filling up BoMyungGiJu(保命之主) is not connected with traditional JangBu.

1. Objectives To evaluate effectiveness of one hundred thirty kinds of pharmacopuncture made of herbs used in Sasang Constitutional Medicine. 2. Methods We searched at fifteen kinds of Korean oriental medical journals websites and four kinds of Korean oriental medicine databases. '약침', '수침', 'pharmacopuncture', 'aqua acupuncture' and 'herbal acupuncture' were keywords. Searching period was March to April 2010. 3. Results One hundred eighty three articles are searched. And these are the results. 1) A lot of Soeum herb pharmacopunctures are effective in anti-tumor, brain damage, rheumatoid arthritis. 2) A lot of Soyang herb pharmacopunctures are effective in kidney injury, asthma, rheumatoid arthritis. 3) A lot of Taeeum herb pharmacopunctures are effective in obesity, asthma, anti-tumor, anti-oxidation, rheumatoid arthritis. 4) Taeyang herb pharmacopunctures are effective in rheumatoid arthritis, amyotrophia. 4. Conclusions There was similar effectiveness between oral administration and pharmacopuncture in Sasang Constitutional herbs. It suggest that pharmacopuncture could be used for Sasang constitutional disease and symptoms. Well-designed clinical studies for Sasang constitutional pharmacopuncture are needed.

This case was designed to evaluate the improving effect of hepatitis on drug metabolism. Gleditsiae Spina(?甬刺) was included Taeumin' herb. but it maybe induced hepatitis on drug metabolism, if Taeumin take this herb long time. We use Taeyeumin Chungsimyeunjatang to the hepatitis on drug metabolism, and we improved it. so we report it.
