In this thesis, I examined the mental, philosophical aspects and the aesthetic sense of our ancestors through the study of the patterns pictured in the mural paintings of Koguryo dynasty's old tomb. To view the mode of construction in Koguryo dynasty from present angle, the detailed analysis of the patterns was done. As a result, I could fully understand the formative consciousness of our nation. 1. I defined the process of transition of the mural paintings by putting some 70 mural aintings into the form of a diagram. 2. The cultural aspects of the mural paintings in Koguryo dynasty were characterized by the fusion of our primitive religion and Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism which were introduced from China. From this fact, I could inferred that Koguryo people were giving off the strong desire for the faith by means of the mural paintings. Further more I found that configuration of the patterns such as religious elements. 3. The types of the patterns were classified into four types, this is, geometric type, natural type, cultural type and abstract type, Among these types, geometric type and natural type were nonsymbolic in nature but became cultured and abstracted in course of time. cultural pattern and abstract pattern got the symbolic meaning in the long run. Of all the constitution of the patterns represented in the mural paintings such as repeat constitution, left and right symmetric constitution, top and bottom symmetric constitution and rotary symmetric constitution, the left and right symmetric constitution was mainly used and some monotony of left and right symmetric constitution. The analysis of motif which was got from the mode of the patterns showed that the mixing of symbolic and nonsymbolic patterns made it possible to regard the separate symbol as compound in nonsymbolic patterns and the combination between nonsymbolic patterns ensured the understanding of other patterns in certain cases. Our ancestors made great efforts to transmit certain meaning symbolically. Also to heighten the symbolism, they drew the meangless patterns firstly and then appended meaning to those patterns secondly. Furthermore, they offered the background to the patterns comblined with symbolism, so that meaning transmission was clarified at last. As mentioned above, the patterns shown in the mural paintings of Koguryo dynasty's old tomb were characterized by natural beauty. And natural beauty was found out clearly in the form and constitution of the patterns. Therefore I concluded that our nation's religious, philosophical tradition was acted on the patterns strongly.

In order to provide the methodology of researching constitutional theories, the original meaning and the source of the term, ti(體) and zhi(質) written in and other text were reviewed, and then components of constitution(體質) and some evaluative norms and prospect on constitutional theories were proposed. Ti(體) means body or 5 tissues or patterns of them and zhi(質) means quality in , so the temporary meaning of constitution was generally same with present one. But the temperament originated from Greek and Elizabethan era is thought that it corresponds with constitution, but it means generally body type and character and mental pathologic features. The fundamental requirements of constitutional theories are needed stability, creativity, clinical efficiency and reproductiveness for differentiating with classical diagnostics over the range of disease and aging of the subject. And heredity, universality and extensiveness were recommended as additional requirements for making level up the theories through long-term follow-up, and to evaluate these requirements detail items were proposed. More of these, weight rendering should be made respectively afterwards.

본 연구의 목적은 역사적으로 한국언론에 나타난 교육위기담론의 의미구성방식과 주체 구성방식을 분석함으로써 한국사회의 진보-보수 언론이 갖는 대립적 입장과 이데올로기적 특성들을 드러내는 데 있다. 이를 위해 미셀 페쇠의 담론이론에서 제시된 언어체계의 선택과 조합방식들-선구성과 절합 메커니즘-, 그리고 이데올로기의 주체구성 방식을 이론적으로 검토한 후, 실제 사례분석에 들어가고자 한다. 사례분석의 대상은 조선일보와 한겨레신문이고, 두 신문의 진보와 보수라는 상징적 적대성을 근거로 선정했다. 이와 함께 "교실붕괴"나 "학교붕괴" 등의 교육위기 담론을 현장진술, 원인과 책임규명 그리고 사후대책의 범주 속에서 분석하고자 한다.

The physiologic and pathologic theories of "The Yellow Emperor's Canon of Internal Medicine (黃帝內經)" were based on yin-yang theory. It has been an important constituent of traditional Chinese medicine, and the eight principal syndromes have been main guidelines in diagnosis and treatment. Recently it had an great influene on the formation of the pathophysiology of Constitutional medicine. Therefore each constitution menifests special pathophysiologic propriorities of the eight pricipal syndromes, especially specific to one's constitution. So we can recognize specific patterns of the yin and yang, cold and heat, exterior and interior, deficient and excessive syndromes through a series of processes distinguishing one's constitution. The theory of the Constitutional medicine, however, has contained those achievements in a new angle and view the problem from a little different standpoint. The dynamic relationships inevitably have caused certain changes and distortions in the meaning and application of eight principles. These are a progress in medical science, and this advance is the stirring venture of Lee jaema. This thesis has intended to show the delicate relationship between the two, and investigate into these "changes and distortions".

Since recent development of questionnaire for Sasang constitution, many researches have followed it to verify statistical significancy. However, a few problems about validity of some questionnaires were discovered later on due to the lack of researches about it. Firstly, some questionnaires have different meaning from that of the original Dongyi Suse Bowon. Secondly, belief on statistical significancy sometimes misleads the questions for a certain Sasang constitution to be used for a different Sasang constitution. Thirdly, profound concepts of original Dongyi Suse Bowon are sometimes abandoned or ignored in the excuse of low statistical significancy. Fourthly, it is still difficult to identify Sasang constitution of Taeyangin due to lack of population, sample, and questions. The purpose of this thesis is to minimize the problems related with interpretation and fitness of the questionnaires. The author developed a questionnaire of 48 questions and surveyed with it over 200 patients who visited Jeon-ju Woosuk hospital. This research resulted in a bit of resolution of the problems through statistical comparison between the survey and clinical analysis.

1. Objectives The Sasang Constitution has been studied in many parts and one of the most common inquiries is the self-reporting questionnaire. But the established investigation has the problem that the respondents are not fully aware of the questionnaires and answer them. To settle this problem, it's been made new questionnaires through two steps. 2. Methods At first step, the testers ate classified into Yangin(陽人) and Eumin(陰人). And then, Taeyangin is distinguished from Soyangin likewise Taeumin is told from Soeumin. It's called 'The Two Step Questionnaire for the Sasang Constitution Diagnosis(TS-QSCD)'. This new method is tested by 160 testers and Woosuk university students whose constitution ate confirmed to make clear clinical uses 3. Results and Conclusions Questionnaire Sasang Constitution corresponds with The Real Sasang Constitution at the rate of 71.87%. Only 5.63% has shown an error at the first step. Every experimenters by constitutions, the 56 objects of 74 Taeumin are confirmed the same as it is. It has 84.85% accuracy. The 27 objects of 32 Soeumin come to the same thing and it has 69.23% accuracy. Similarly, the 32 objects of 42 Soyangin come to the same conclusion and 72.73% accuracy high As the result, in comparison to the Real Constitution with the Constitution by questionnaires, the accord comes out Kappa Indices 0.6427866. This result is comparatively high. Chi-square Test can be shown statistical meaning as well.

1. Objectives : In this study we derived constitutional characteristics both by using questionnaire on character and symptom and by collecting objective measurement data through face, body shape. Furthermore, by developing a program, we intend to help one's diagnosis of Sasang constitution. 2. Methods : Through November 2007 to July 2009, we obtained questionnaire, face, and body shape data of 958 constitution confirmed subjects within the age range of 10-80 from 19 oriental medical facilities in the country. According to sex, we divided the subjects into two groups as real constitution and non-constitution group respectively. We analyzed the questionnaire through chi-square test (p<.01) and facial and body shape data through unpaired T-test (p<.01). By using weight law for questionnaire and euclidean distance for body shape and face data, we expressed constitution possibility to develop a supplementary program. 3. Results : The concordance rates of constitutional diagnosis by using the program for Taeeumin, Soeumin, Soyangin are, 76.7%, 61.5%, 67.4% resulting in 69.6% in male and 64.1%, 64.7%, 65.1%, resulting in 64.7% In female respectively. New cases tested on the program showed concordance rate of 65% in male and 62% in female with real constitution. 4. Conclusion : The constitutional diagnostic program based on the face, body shape and questionnaire, may have significant meaning as a supplementary tool in the constitutional diagnosis for clinical expert.

There is linguistic phenomenon that Korean syllable, morpheme and word are substituted with Chinese Character. These phenomenon is called Chinese Character Borrowing, the Chinese character used here is called Borrowed Chinese Character. Whereas borrowing Chinese character in Chinese is used for borrowing only sound for different word, borrowing Chinese character in Korean is used for assigning new meaning. Hence, by borrowing Chinese character in Korean, a syllable which had no meaning originally get new meaning, morpheme and word meaning has changed. At advertisement and campaign, Chinese Character Borrowing has lots of linguistical advantage such as visual immediacy, effectiveness of meaning expression. However, there are number of cases found that violate grammar rule and word constitution practice by Chinese Character Borrowing. For this reason, Chinese Character Borrowing has the problem polluting Korean along with another foreign words. Thus, this paper focus on study Chinese Character Borrowing phenomenon in Korean, and analysis its effectiveness and impact in Korean. In addition, analysis the problem of Borrowed chinese Character, and suggestion several alternative for right use of Korean is followed.

Objective : This study was conducted to underpin the theory of Taegeuk Acupuncture systematically and increase the utility of clinical trial and a range of application. Method : This study analysed ByungHaeng Lee's theory, who is the originator of Taegeuk Acupuncture, by focusing on "Young Chu GuChimSibYiWon" Result & Conclusion : 1. ByungHaeng Lee's thought about Viscera and Bowels is following medicine of Internal Classic. Even though JeMa Lee's thought about Viscera and Bowels has same name with ByungHaeng Lee's, but the functional meaning and related part is totally different. So, four constitution types in Taegeuk Acupuncture are different from four constitution types in Four-Constitution Medicine. Therefore, Taegeuk Acupuncture isn't related with Four-Constitution Medicine 2. On the authority of "Young Chu GuChimSibYiWon", we can extend 4 therapeutic acupuncture point combinations of Taegeuk Acupuncture to ten therapeutic acupuncture point combinations which tentatively named 'Five Viscera Source Point Acupuncture'. 3. To consider an example of eight constitutional acupuncture, Taegeuk Acupuncture thoroughly says constitutional acupuncture. Especially, JaeGyuKim's Taegeuk Acupuncture has specific diagnosis standard that after treating a patient with acupuncture, he checks an oppressive pain at the precordial region and a voiced sound at liver and then he makes sure constitution of patient. So we can consider JaeGyuKim's Taegeuk Acupuncture as constitutional acupuncture. However, it has to change the name of four constitution types to taegeuk greater yang person, taegeuk lesser yang person, taegeuk greater yin person, taegeuk lesser yin person so as to avoid confusion. 4. Taegeuk Acupuncture is markedly simple in comparison with other acupuncture, so it needs to extend the utility of clinics by enlarging treatment acupuncture points.

This research is purposed to find Dong-mu's thought on 'philosophy and medical interrelationship' in his writings. It was researched with Dong-mu's chief medical writings such as ${\ulcorner}$Gyukchigo(格致藁)${\lrcorner}$ , ${\ulcorner}$Dongyi Soose Bowon(東醫壽世保元) ${\lrcorner}$ , ${\ulcorner}$Dongyi Soose Bowon Sasang Chobongyun(東醫壽世保元四象草本卷)${\lrcorner}$ , ${\ulcorner}$Dong-mu's posthumos work(東武遺稿)${\lrcorner}$ Dong-mu describe his philosophy conception with the system of The Book of change(周易). But he changes the meaning of Taegeuk(太極), LangYui(兩儀), Sasang(四象) on the respect of human being. Gyuchigo(格致藁) can be understood as social behavior pattern of Sasang constitute. From ${\ulcorner}$Gyukchigo(格致藁)${\lrcorner}$ to The theory of Sung-Meung(性命論), It is focused on Nature(性) and Order(命). Affairs- Mind - Body-Objects(事心身物) was distributed at Heaven-Human -Nature-Order(天人性命) on the respect of Human Moral. In the respect of Form-Use(體用), It is assigned to Form(體) and metaphysical philosophy. After The theory of Sa-Dan(四端論) in ${\ulcorner}$Dongyi Soose Bowon(東醫壽世保元) ${\lrcorner}$, It is focused on Nature-Emotion(性情). Affairs - Mind - Body - Objects(事心身物)is distributed at Heaven-Human -Nature-Order (天人性命) on the respect of human internal mind. In the respect of Form-Use(體用), It is assigned to Use(用) and Physical science. Sasang Constitution can be expanded to Eight COnstitution in the respect of dominant position among Nature(性) and Emotion(情).
