We present an efficient and robust technique to estimate the velocity of moving targets from a single SAR image. In SAR images, azimuth image shift is a well known phenomenon, which is observed in moving targets having slant-range velocity. Most methods estimated the velocity of moving targets from the distance difference between the road and moving targets or between ship and the ship wake. However, the methods could not be always applied to moving targets because it is difficult to find the road and the ship wake. We adopted a method estimating the velocity of moving targets from azimuth differentials of range-compressed image. This method is based on an assumption that Doppler center frequency shift of moving target causes a phase difference in azimuth differential values. The phase difference is linearly distorted by Doppler rate due to the geometry of SAR image. The linear distortion is eliminated from phase removal procedure, and the constant phase difference is estimated. Finally, range velocity estimates for moving targets are retrieved. This technique is tested using an ENVISAT ASAR image in which several unknown ships are presented. The theoretical accuracy of this technique is discussed by SAR simulation. The advantages and disadvantages of this method over the conventional method are also discussed.

The adsorption characteristics of the pellet-type adsorbent prepared from water treatment sludge for trimethylamine and ammonia were studied. The surface area and pore volume of the pellet-type adsorbent increased during calcination at $500^{\circ}C$. It was confirmed that the adsorbent prepared from water treatment sludge contained Br$\ddot{o}$nsted and Lewis acid sites. The breakthrough time of the adsorbent for both trimethylamine and ammonia was measured at different adsorbent weights and linear velocities while maintaining constant amounts of trimethylamine and ammonia. The kinetic saturation capacity and the adsorption rate constant for trimethylamine and ammonia were determined at different linear velocities by using the Wheeler equation. It was found that the kinetic saturation capacity and the adsorption rate constant were dependent on the linear velocity. An experimental equation could be derived to predict the breakthrough time of the adsorbent prepared from water treatment sludge for trimethylamine and ammonia at different adsorption conditions.
Drying characteristics of green onion and onion during fluidized and fixed bed drying were investigated and compared. Sliced peen onion and onion were dried at drying air temperature of 45, 55, and $65^{\circ}C$. Drying air velocity during fluidized bed drying was adjusted with drying time at each drying temperature. Drying time to reach a given final moisture content was shorten in fluidized bed drying than in fixed bed drying - for drying temperature of 45, 55, and $65^{\circ}C$, the differences were 60, 60, and 50 min for green onion and 360, 180, and 60 min for onion. Drying constant (K) was greatly affected by drying method and drying temperature. Terminal velocity under fluidized bed drying was decreased exponentially for green onion and linearly (or onion with increase of drying temperature. Also, terminal velocity had linear relationship with moisture content for both green onion and onion.

In this paper, a target tracking algorithm for tracking maneuvering vehicles is presented. The overall algorithm belongs to the category of an interacting multiple-model (IMM) algorithm used to detect multiple targets using fused information from multiple sensors. First, two kinematic models are derived: a constant velocity model for linear motions, and a constant-speed turn model for curvilinear motions. Fpr the constant-speed turn model, a nonlinear information filter is used in place of the extended Kalman filter. Being equivalent to the Kalman filter (KF) algebraically, the information filter is extended to N-sensor distributed dynamic systems. The model-matched filter used in multi-sensor environments takes the form of a federated nonlinear information filter. In multi-sensor environments, the information-based filter is easier to decentralize, initialize, and fuse than a KF-based filter. In this paper, the structural features and information sharing principle of the federated information filter are discussed. The performance of the suggested algorithm using a Monte Carlo simulation under the two patterns is evaluated.
The flow characteristics of the transitional oscillatory flows are investigated analytically and experimentally in the entrance region of a square duct. The systems of conservation equations are analytically solved by linearizing the non-linear convective terms for the developing transitional oscillatory flows in a square duct. The analytical solutions are obtained in the form of infinite series for the velocity profiles. The experimental study for the air flow in a square duct is carried out to measure the velocity profiles and waveforms by using a hot-wire anemometer with the data acquisition and processing systems. The theoretical and experimental results provide the major characteristics of the developing transitional oscillatory flows, such as velocity profiles, velocity waveforms, and entrance length. The velocity profiles in the decelerating phase are larger than those in the accelerating phase for the developing transitional oscillatory flows. The correlations of the entrance length of the transitional oscillatory flows in a square duct are found to be $Le/Dh=K{\cdot}Re_{os}/2({\omega}^+)^2$, where K is 1.23 of an experimental constant.
This paper represents the numerical analysis in unsteady state on the variation of diameter and environmental velocity of carbon heating source. In general heating system, the oil and sheath heater is widely used, but these systems have many problems. So, the heating source with carbon ingredient has been researched in many country about manufacture, thermal and electrical properties. In this research, the carbon heating source was studied through numerical analysis on several conditions of unsteady state, heat generation, diameter and environmental velocity. The temperature distributions at steady state are appeared as a non-proportional linear pattern with variations of environmental velocity due to the Nesselt number with convective heat flux is proportioned to 0.805 of Reynolds number. As the radius is increasing, the temperature distributions is appeared the minus tilt because of the environmental condition is cooling by constant temperature. So, the correlation equation between temperature at steady state and environmental velocity was obtained.

A Linear Pulse Motor (LPM) is a direct drive motor that has good performance in terms of accuracy, velocity and acceleration compared to the conventional rotating system with toothed belts and ball screws. However, since an LPM needs supporting devices which maintain constant air-gap and has strong nonlinearity caused by leakage magnetic flux, friction and cogging, etc., there are many difficulties in improvement on accuracy with conventional control theory. Moreover, when designing the position controller of LPM, the modeling error and load variations has not been considered. In order to compensate these components, the neural network with conventional feedback controller is introduced. This neural network of feedback error learning type changes the current commands to improve position accuracy. As a result of experiments, we observes that more accurate position control is possible compared to conventional controller.
This paper presents the efficient 2-D linear brake analysis model which can compensate the lateral leakage flux by changingng the airgap length and magneto-motive force(MMF). The linkage flux of the 2-D analysis is larger than that of 3-D analysis. This is caused by the assumption in 2-D analysis that geometric and physical values are constant along the perpendicular direction(z) to the analysis region. The equivalent MMF have been calculated from the linkage flux difference between the 2-D and 3-D analyses which are performed at zero velocity. The performances of the linear brake have been analyzed effectively by using the compensated 2-D models without using 3-D FEM.

From linear motor feed system model, two axis control rules have been applied. As an application process, a flexible disk grinding system process has been also introduced that utilized varying disk orientation with respect to workpiece along with the applied feed speed. A known process model methodologies has been used to fomulate processed surface profiles. Various process conditions including cutting speed, maximum feed speed and orientation angles could applied to observe process results sensitivities. Even though continuous and constant feed speed has been applied to the process, the results from the trapezoidal input velocity profiles would be observed and compared.

The Velocity Autocorrelation Function (VAF) of the sodium ions is calculated for a range of temperature from 250K to 1000K and converted into the linear ac-conductivity and ac-susceptibility response via Fourier transformation. A peak is found in the conductivity around $6\times10^{12}$ Hz that has some of the character of a Poley absorption. Here it is shown to be due to an harmonically coupled site vibrations of the sodium atoms, which extend only over a limited range. At frequencies below the peak the conductivity tends towards a constant i.e. dc value corresponding to a constant flow of ions through the simulation cell. At high temperatures the conductivity due to this ion transport process behaves like a metal with an insulator to metal transition occurring around a specific temperature.
