  • To understand the dynamical structures of stellar wind bubble, one and two-dimensional calculations has been performed. Using FCT Code with cooling effects and assuming constant mass loss rate and ambient medium density, we could divide stellar winds into the regime of slow and fast winds. The slow wind driven bubble shows initially radiative and becomes partially radiative bubble in which shocked stellar wind zone is still adiabatic. In contrast., the fast wind driven bubble shows initially fully adiabatic and becomes adiabatic bubbles with radiative outer shell. We also determine analytically the onset of thin-shell formation time in case of fast wind driven bubble with power-law energy injection and ambient density structure. We solve the line transfer problem with numerical results in order to calculate line profile of [OIII] forbidden line.

  • The NMR spectrum of newly synthesized compound, trans-2-butenedial bishydrazone is analyzed. It is found that each peak in the AA'BB' spectrum of the compound is consisted of two lines and internal check cannot be accomplished by the usual analytical procedure. Correct line positions are obtained by varying gradually all the parameters, ${\delta}$, K, M, N, L so that the mid points of the doublets may approach observed line positions and the chemical shifts and the coupling constants of the compound are obtained from the result.

  • The line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor has a high efficiency and an advantage in constant speed operation regardless of the effect of load variation. However, it is difficult to predict the performance of characteristics accurately, because of the unbalanced starting torque with the initial starting position of the rotor and the generation of a break torque. In this paper the dynamic characteristics of the line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor are described and compared with those of the squirrel-cage induction motor through the simulation to find the characteristics of the permanent magnets and the rotor bars in the line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor. Finally this paper gives the comparison between the simulation results and the experimental results.

  • In vision measurement systems based on structured light, the key point of detection precision is to determine accurately the central position of the projected laser line in the image. The purpose of this research is to extract laser line centers based on a decision function generated to distinguish the real centers from candidate points with a high recognition rate. First, preprocessing of an image adopting a difference image method is conducted to realize image segmentation of the laser line. Second, the feature points in an integral pixel level are selected as the initiating light line centers by the eigenvalues of the Hessian matrix. Third, according to the light intensity distribution of a laser line obeying a Gaussian distribution in transverse section and a constant distribution in longitudinal section, a normalized model of Hessian matrix eigenvalues for the candidate centers of the laser line is presented to balance reasonably the two eigenvalues that indicate the variation tendencies of the second-order partial derivatives of the Gaussian function and constant function, respectively. The proposed model integrates a Gaussian recognition function and a sinusoidal recognition function. The Gaussian recognition function estimates the characteristic that one eigenvalue approaches zero, and enhances the sensitivity of the decision function to that characteristic, which corresponds to the longitudinal direction of the laser line. The sinusoidal recognition function evaluates the feature that the other eigenvalue is negative with a large absolute value, making the decision function more sensitive to that feature, which is related to the transverse direction of the laser line. In the proposed model the decision function is weighted for higher values to the real centers synthetically, considering the properties in the longitudinal and transverse directions of the laser line. Moreover, this method provides a decision value from 0 to 1 for arbitrary candidate centers, which yields a normalized measure for different laser lines in different images. The normalized results of pixels close to 1 are determined to be the real centers by progressive scanning of the image columns. Finally, the zero point of a second-order Taylor expansion in the eigenvector's direction is employed to refine further the extraction results of the central points at the subpixel level. The experimental results show that the method based on this normalization model accurately extracts the coordinates of laser line centers and obtains a higher recognition rate in two group experiments.

  • A fifth-order Fourier series technique is applied in Core Operating Limit Supervisory System (COLSS) to construct the on-line core average axial power shape from in-core detector signals because of its simplicity and fast computation. Such a synthesizing accuracy depends on number of Fourier series modes and axial boundary conditions. COLSS currently uses the five-mode Fourier series technique which utilizes the five axially located fixed in-core detector signals and a constant axial boundary condition. Therefore, the constant axial boundary condition should be appropriately chosen based on the evaluation of its effect on the accuracy of the on-line calculations. The four cases of axial buckling (0.75, 0.8, 0.9 and 1.0) were examined for Yonggwang Nuclear Units 3&4 as the axial boundary conditions in this paper. The core average axial power shapes and the operating margins were compared for each case to determine the optimal constant axial buckling. The axial buckling of 0.9 was found to be the optimal value.

  • Wireless power transfer (WPT) technology has the advantages of intelligence and facilitation. This paper designs a WPT system applied to battery charging and provides a strategy which switches from the constant current (CC) charging mode to constant voltage (CV) charging mode. The LCL-LCL topology is used to realize the CC output, while the LCL-S (series compensation) topology is used to realize the CV output. The main factor affecting the output characteristics is extracted by analyzing the two topologies above. Based on the main factor, this paper puts forward a modified way to design the system. In addition, on-line monitors for the battery and switches are placed at receiving side, which avoids the need for introducing an information interaction module into the system. Therefore, the complexity of the controlling system is reduced. Finally, simulation and experimental analyses are carried out to verify the correctness of the compound topologies.

  • In this paper, an analysis for a new substrate shielding symmetric coupled MIS structure consisting of grounded crossbar at the interface between Si and SiO2 layer using the Finite-Difference Time-Domain(FDTD) method is presented. In order to reduce the substrate effects on the transmission line characteristics, a shielding structure consisting of grounded crossbar lines over time-domain signal has been examined. Parameters of symmetric coupled MIS transmission line with various gaps between crossbars for even- and odd-mode are investigated as the functions of frequency, and the extracted distributed frequency-dependent transmission line parameters and corresponding equivalent circuit parameters as well as quality factor for the new MIS crossbar embedded structure are also presented. It is shown that the quality factor of the symmetric coupled transmission line can be improved without significant change in the characteristic impedance and effective dielectric constant.

  • Basically, a general characterization procedure based on the extraction of the characteristic impedance and propagation constant for analyzing a single MIS(Metal-Insulator-Semiconductor) transmission line is used. In this paper, an analysis for a new substrate shielding MIS structure consisting of grounded cross-bars at the interface between Si and SiO2 layer using the Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method is presented. In order to reduce the substrate effects on the transmission line characteristics, a shielding structure consisting of grounded cross bar lines over time-domain signal has been examined. The extracted distributed frequency-dependent transmission line parameters and corresponding equivalent circuit parameters as well as quality factor have been examined as functions of cross-bar spacing and frequency. It is shown that the quality factor of the transmission line can be improved without significant change in the characteristic impedance and effectve dielectric constant.

  • Robot-based layout automation has been recently promoted for the purpose of improving productivity and quality. Marking robots have various functional demands to secure marking precision and environmental adaptability. In particular, in order to automate marking work of building structure, correction of the marking line through position recognition of rebars placed is required. Because the rebars must maintain a constant cover thickness from the formwork surface, if the rebars are out of planned position, the rebar or marking line need to be corrected to secure the cover thickness. Thus, the marking robot for structural work needs to have the function for determining the position correction of the rebar or the marking line. In order to judge the correction of marking line, it is required to measure the distance between the planned marking line and the rebar placed. Therefore, this study proposes an algorithm that can measure the distance between the planned line and the rebar, and correct marking line for the automatic operation of the marking robot. The results of this study will be utilized as a core function for unmanned operation of the marking robot and contribute to securing precise marking by reflecting construction errors.

  • This paper reports a dispersion compensation technique to implement tje distortionless transmission line by satisfying the heaviside conditon. Because of the skin depth for aconductor, compensation condition is dependent on the freuqncy variation. For this reason, first, the resistance have been chaacterized in awide range of frequencies, and then found the effective conductivity of the substrate which satisfied the heaviside condition. The phase velocity and the characteristics impedance are prresented nearly constant over a wideband frequency range.
