The purpose of this article was to provide basic knowledge and treatment principles of patient with lymphedema, which was usually not treated at all, or the treatment given didn't work efficiently. Lmphedema is defined as an abnormal accumulation of protein-rich fluid, edema, and chronic inflammation within an extremity. Lmphedema may be classified as either primary results from defects with aplasia, hypoplasia, and hyperplasia in the lymphatic system at birth or secondary is caused by known precipitating factors such as cancer, infection, inflammation, radiation, surgery, or trauma etc. There are essentially several conservative treatment methods which has been utilized successfully to treat lymphedema in Samsung Medical Center. We used following procedures: CPT (Complex Physical therapy) or CDP (Complex Decongesitive Physical therapy) such as skin care, MLD (Manual Lymph Drainage), compression with short-stretch bandage, exercise, elevation, elastic stocking, and pneumatic compression. Our experiences shows that conservative treatments can significantly reduce lymphedema and prevent different complications.

Transient aerodynamic response of an airfoil to a moving plane-flap is numerically investigated using the two-dimensional Euler equations with conservative Chimera grid method. A body moving relative to a stationary grid is treated by an overset grid bounded by a 'Dynamic Domain Dividing Line' which has an advantage for constructing a well-defined hole-cutting boundary. A conservative Chimera grid method with the dynamic domain-dividing line technique is applied and validated by solving the flowfield around a circular cylinder moving supersonic speed. The unsteady and transient characteristics of the flow solver are also examined by computations of an oscillating airfoil and a ramp pitching airfoil respectively. The transient aerodynamic behavior of an airfoil with a moving plane-flap is analyzed for various flow conditions such as deflecting rate of flap and free stream Mach number.

This study is designed to evaluate the effect of conservative oriental medical treatment with Kyungkuen Chuna for Herniated intervertebral lumber disc(HIVD) patient. The improvement of the patient was evaluated by Range of Motion(ROM), Straight Leg Rasing Test(SLRT), Visual Analogue Scale(VAS), Oswestry Low-back Pain Disability Index(ODI). After conservative oriental medical treatment with Kyungkuen Chuna, ROM, SLRT, VAS and ODI were significantly improved. It is suggested that Conservative oriental medical treatment with Kyungkuen Chuna could be effective methods to treat the HIVD patient.

Objective : The objective of this study is to report the effectiveness of conservative treatment on simple pelvic fracture with ostomy. Methods : A female patient 65 years old with ostomy, who were diagnosed as simple pelvic fracture by X-ray, were treated with conservative treatment by herbal medication with acupuncture and physical therapy. We evaluated the effectiveness by checking X-ray, Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging(D.I.T.I.). Results : The symptoms of the patient got improved and X-ray showed the fracture were healing. Conclusions : Conservative korean medical treatment can be effectively used for a patient with simple pelvic fracture and ostomy.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the microtensile bond strength of sixth-generation adhesives according to various dentin surface treatments and to observe the interface between resin(Z-100TM) and dentin by SEM. This study employed forty-five non-caries extracted human molars and three adhesive systems were used; All-Bond 2(AB), One-Up Bond F(OU), AQ-Bond(AQ).; group 1, 2, 3 were used AB and were respectively treated by smearing(S), ultrasonic cleansing(US), etching(E).(omitted)

The aim of this study is to estimate clinical outcome of Conservative treatment for patients with Herniated Intervertebral Disc(HIVD) of lumbar spine. We investigated the 33 cases of Inpatients who were diagnosed as the HIVD of L-Spine and were treated Acupuncture therapy, Herb-medicine, Bee-vom treatment in Oriental Medicine Hospital from March 1, 2005 to November 31, 2005. We evaluated the subjective symptoms by Visual Analogue Scale, Hudgin's classification and follow-up of Activity Daily Living status. The improvement index showed that the oriental medical conservative therapy improved the symptom of HIVD effectively.

Objectives : The Purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical application of conservative Korean treatment including hip joint MST for Bilateral Sacroillitis with Synovitis in Rt. Hip Joint Caused by Ankylosing Spondylitis. Methods : Patient is hospitalized at Dept. of Korean Internal Medicine, Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital, diagnosed as Bilateral Sacroilitis with Synovitis in Rt. Hip Joint Caused by Ankylosing Spondylitis, and treated by herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion, and hip joint MST. This study was measured by NRS(Numeric Rating Scale), SLRT(Straight leg raising test), Patrick test, and Blood test(ESR, CRP). Result : After conservative treatment, the patient's pain was controlled and NRS score was decreased. SLRT score also improved. Patrick test unchanged. ESR, CRP score was decreased. Conclusion : As seen in this one case, conservative Korean treatment including hip joint MST has a positive effect to control pain with Bilateral Sacroillitis with Synovitis in Rt. Hip Joint Caused by Ankylosing Spondylitis.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report clinical effects of oriental medicine w~h conservative treatments including acupuncture, Chuna treatment and herbal medicine on a patient with low back pain and lower limb numbness caused by HIVD and schwannoma. Methods: The patient was diagnosed with HIVD and schwannoma through the MRI scan. This case was treated with acupuncture, Chuna treatment and herbal medicine during the whole admission period. We evaluated the progress of the symptoms with objective criteria such as NRS(Numerical Rating Scale), SLRT(Straight Leg Raising Test), ODI(Oswestry Disability Index) score and MMT(Manual Muscle Testing). Results and Conclusions: After weeks of conducting conservative treatment on patient with low back pain and lower limb numbness caused by HIVD and schwannoma occurred at the lumbar spine, significant improvements of the symptoms were seen. These results suggest that in the case of low back pain and lower limb numbness caused by HIVD and schwannoma, conservative treatments can be considered as one of the options of treating the symptoms beside surgical way.

Methods : Patient is hospitalized at Dept. of Oriental Internal Medicine, Jaseng Oriental Medicine Hospital, diagnosed as lumbar HIVD(Herniated Intervertebral Disc) and early developed Avascular Necrosis of Femur Head and treated by herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion and hip joint MST. This study was measured by NRS(Numeric Rating Scale), ODI(Oswestry Disability Index) and ROM(range of motion). Results : After conservative treatment, the patient's pain was controlled and NRS score was decreased. ODI and ROM also were improved. Conclusions : As seen in this one case, Oriental conservative treatment including hip joint MST has a positive effect to control pain with lumbar HIVD(Herniated Intervertebral Disc) and early developed avascular necrosis of femur head.

Purpose: This study evaluated the results of conservative treatment for simple bone cyst. Materials and Methods: We studied 126 cases of simple bone cyst, which were treated by observation or steroid injection from February 1990 to May 2010. Their mean age at diagnosis was 14 years (${\pm}9$ years, 2-60 years) and the mean follow-up duration for this study were 41 months (${\pm}37$ months, 12-159 months). Observation and steroid injection was applied for conservative management of simple bone cyst and results was scored by modified Neer classification. Results: 31 cases (24.6%) were treated by observation and 95 cases (75.4%) were treated by steroid injection. The 95 patients were treated by a mean of 1.1 (${\pm}0.9$, 0-4) steroid injections and a single steroid injection was given in 65 cases (51.6%). The 102 cases (80.9%) were resulted in modified Neer classification I and II which could be considered as healing of simple bone cyst. Conclusion: Conservative management can be considered as an initial treatment for simple bone cyst with good result.
