In this paper, we have designed the auxiliary input device which based on hand-motion recognition. It is aimed at some individually specified person such as the disabled, rehabilitation patient, and the aged. The gyro sensor is used to recognize the hand-motion in 3D space, and communication bandwidth for transceiver is also set to the 2.4GHz. Prototype board includes a set of modules; Gyro sensor, RF transmitter/receiver, MCU for signal processing and USB connector etc. Some experiments are conducted so as to verify the prototype, and as a result, mouse-based curser motion as well as program control are well operated just same as the design specification.
In this research the effect of high strength concrete (HSC) on shear capability of the channel shear connectors (CSC) in the steel concrete composite floor system was estimated experimentally and analytically. The push-out test was carried out for assessing the accurateness of the proposed model (nonlinear and finite element model) for the test specimens. A parametric analysis was conducted for predicting the shear capacity of the connectors (CSC) in the HSC. Eight push-out specimens of different sizes with different strength levels were tested under the monotonic loading system. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of the National Building Code of Canada (NBC) of Canada for analysing the loading abilities of the CSC in the HSC. Using the experimental tests results and verifying the finite element results with them, it was then confirmed by the extended parametric studies that the Canadian Design Code was less efficient for predicting the capacity of the CSC in the HSC. Hence, an alternative equation was formulated for predicting the shear capacity of these connectors during the inclusion of HSC for designing the codes.
This paper shows the development of a snake robot (KAEROT-snake V) which consists of 16 1-DOF actuator modules and head module. The modules are connected serially and the joint axis of each module is rotated by $90^{\circ}$ with respect to the previous joint so that the snake robot can move in the 3D space. A tail actuator module includes slip-ring and metal connector. KAEROT-snake IV developed in prior research could move in the 3D space and climb up in a narrow pipe. But its design was not appropriate to the unstructured tough environment and its speed was somewhat slow. A new actuator module is designed to enclose all parts of the module so that any wire is not exposed. The size and weight of the new module was slightly reduced. And the rotation speed and torque of the joint was increased by about twice when compared with pre-module. An embedded controller was developed so small that it can be mounted inside the module. The performance of the developed robot was demonstrated through various locomotion experiments.

The purpose of this paper is to deduct components that are in the group of highest risk(top 10%). the group is conducted for classification into groups by values according to risk priority through risk priority number(RPN) of FMEA(Failure modes and effects analysis) sheet. Top 10% of failure mode among total potential failure modes(72 failure modes) of ESS included 5 BMS(battery included) failure modes, 1 invert failure mode, and 1 cable connectors failure mode in which BMS was highest. This is because ESS is connected to module, try, and lack in the battery part as an assembly of electronic information communication and is managed. BMS is mainly composed of the battery module and communication module. There is a junction box and numerous connectors that connect these two in which failure occurs most in the connector part and module itself. Finally, this paper proposes RPN by each step from the starting step of ESS design to installation and operation. Blackouts and electrical disasters can be prevented beforehand by managing and removing the deducted risk factors in prior.

A family of multi-die DRAM packages was developed that incorporate the full functionality of an SODIMM into a single package. Using a common ball assignment analogous to the edge connector of an SODIMM, a broad range of memory types and assembly structures are supported in this new package. In particular DDR3U, LPDDR3 and DDR4RS are all supported. The center-bonded DRAM use face-down wirebond assembly, while the peripherybonded LPDDR3 use the face-up configuration. Flip chip assembly as well as TSV stacked memory is also supported in this new technology. For the center-bonded devices (DDR3, DDR4 and LPDDR3 ${\times}16$ die) and for the face up wirebonded ${\times}32$ LPDDR3 devices, a simple manufacturing flow is used: all die are placed on the strip in a single machine insertion and are sourced from a single wafer. Wirebonding is also a single insertion operation: all die on a strip are wirebonded at the same time. Because the locations of the power signals is unchanged for these different types of memories, a single consolidated set of test hardware can be used for testing and burn-in for all three memory types.

The use of composite structures is increasingly present in civil building works. Composite Box Girder Bridges (CBGB), particularly, are study of effect of shear connector's numbers and distribution on the behavior of CBGBs is submitted. A Predicti structures consisting of two materials, both connected by metal devices known as shear connectors. The main functions of these connectors are to allow for the joint behavior of the girder-deck, to restrict longitudinal slipping and uplifting at the element's interface and to take shear forces. This paper presents 3D numerical models of CBGBs to simulate their actual structural behavior, with emphasis on the girder-deck interface. Additionally, a Prediction of several FE models is assessed against the results acquired from a field test. A number of factors are considered, and confirmed through experiments, especially full shear connections, which are obviously essential in composite box girder. A good representation for shear connectors by suitable element type is considered. Numerical predictions of vertical displacements at critical sections fit fairly well with those evaluated experimentally. The agreement between the FE models and the experimental models show that the FE model can aid engineers in design practices of box girder bridges. Preliminary results indicate that number of shear studs can be significantly reduced to facilitate adoption of a new arrangement in modeling CBGBs with full composition. However, a further feasibility study to investigate the practical and economic aspects of such a remedy is recommended, and it may represent partial composition in such modeling.

Micro-structure components applied to various disciplines are steadily demanded with lighter weight and better quality. This is because that ultra thin-wall injection molding has been paid attention with a lot of benefits such as cost reduction, shorter process period, and so forth. However, this technology is complicate and difficult to obtain high quality of products compared with conventional injection molding due to warpage caused by uneven shrinkage and molecular orientation. Since warpage of products directly affects product quality and overall performance of devices, it is essential to predict deformation behavior to achieve high precision of molded products. Therefore, this study aims to find out adequate thin-wall mold design for FPC connector housing by employing Moldflow simulation before application. In addition, experimental research is performed by using a fabricated mold structure based on simulated results to prove accuracy and reliability of the suggested simulation for warpage analysis.

A wearable antenna made using conductive tape on paper is presented in this paper. The proposed antenna is composed of a half-wavelength conducting dipole strip and a parasitic conducting strip on the A4 copy paper. The antenna is fed at the center of the dipole strip by an SMA connector. The configuration of the proposed antenna changes according to the origami method. Therefore the radiation patterns of the antenna vary according to whether or not the paper is folded. This approach solves the problem that the reception ratio of the signal decreases because of null points in the antenna radiation pattern. The reflection coefficient and the radiation pattern of the proposed antenna at 900 MHz are evaluated using an EM simulation and measurements. It was shown that the proposed paper antenna has reconfigurable characteristics at 900 MHz when utilizing the origami method.

Push-out tests were performed to evaluate the shear capacity of a composite steel truss deck slab system, called an automatic prefabrication bar-mesh system, using lightweight concrete. The six specimens were classified into three groups: DP, NDP, and Solid, according to the variations between the bar mesh and the zinc plate automatic prefabrications. This paper focused on the failure behaviors, load-displacement characteristics, and a performance comparison based on design codes.

Pipe section of bending part at the arch type pipe-house showed an ellipse with oblateness of 0.076 on the average. Flexural rigidity of bending part decreased by average 6.3% than that of an original round shape section. The deflection of arch type pipe-house measured by model experiments showed much bigger than the result of structural analysis. In case of arch type pipe-house, we supposed that the decrease of flexural rigidity for the bending part of pipes had an effect on deflection of roof under the working load. This effect should be considered in the structural analysis. Bending resistance of gable type pipe-house used a prefabricated connector which developed in this study showed about $1.5{\sim}1.8$ times stronger than that of the existing arch type or gable type processed bending. Therefore, we supposed that the gable-roofed prefabricated pipe-house is safer than arch type or bent gable type in case of heavy snowfall. According to house scales and section properties of steel pipe in use, safe snow depths and rafter intervals were presented for design of gable-roofed prefabricated pipe-house. Their standards were established in the range of the durable models recommended by RDA, and the comparative examinations were conducted by means of structural analysis. It was evaluated that the developed greenhouse model had a high applicability in the field.
