One of the critical issues in wireless sensor network is the design of a proper routing protocol. One possible approach is utilizing a virtual infrastructure, which is a subset of sensors to connect all the sensors in the network. Among the many virtual infrastructures, the connected dominating set is widely used. Since a small connected dominating set can help to decrease the protocol overhead and energy consumption, it is preferable to find a small sized connected dominating set. Although many algorithms have been suggested to construct a minimum connected dominating set, there have been few exact approaches. In this paper, we suggest an improved optimal algorithm for the minimum connected dominating set problem, and extensive computational results showed that our algorithm outperformed the previous exact algorithms. Also, we suggest a new heuristic algorithm to find the connected dominating set and computational results show that our algorithm is capable of finding good quality solutions quite fast.

The home network is generally separated from the Internet, as it is made up of a private network due to security issues and the lack of IPv4 addresses space. Also, a user may want to move from a terminal to another terminal connected in the home network during communicating with people outside the home. In this case, people connected in the Internet, or another home network could not communicate the user at the home. These limitations prevent a SIP-capable device connected in the home network from communicating with another SIP-capable device connected in the Internet or the outside of the home network. To overcome the limitations, This paper proposes the Adaptive SIP Application Server System as a software architecture that a user inside of the home can communicate with people outside of the home when the home is composed of a private IP-based network. Moreover, the proposed architecture provides the session mobility that allows the user to maintain a media session even if changing the terminal inside of the home during the session established. The proposed system was implemented over a home server device which acts functionality as a connection point for transmitting IP packets between a home network and the Internet.

A fully connected Artificial Neural Network (ANN) contains many connections. Compared to the pruned ANN with fewer connections, the fully connected ANN takes longer time to produce solutions end may not provide appropriate solutions to new unseen date. Therefore, by reducing the sloe of ANN, we can overcome the overfitting problem and increase the computing speed. In this research, we reduced the size of ANN by destroying the connections. In other words, we investigated the performance change of the reduced ANN by systematically destroying the connections. Then we found the acceptable level of connection-destruction on which the resulting ANN Performs as well as the original fully connected ANN. In the previous researches on the sloe reduction of ANN, the reduced ANN had to be retrained every time some connections were eliminated. Therefore, It tool lolly time to obtain the reduced ANN. In this research, however, we provide the acceptable level of connection-destruction according to the size of the fully connected ANN. Therefore, by applying the acceptable level of connection-destruction to the fully connected ANN without any retraining, the reduced ANN can be obtained efficiently.

Many devices are connected on the internet to give functionalities for interconnected services. In 2020', The number of devices connected to the internet will be reached 5.8 billion. Moreover, many connected service provider such as Google and Amazon, suggests edge computing and mesh networks to cope with this situation which the many devices completely connected on their networks. This paper introduces the current state of the introduction of the wireless mesh network and edge cloud in order to efficiently manage a large number of nodes in the exploding Internet of Things (IoT) network and introduces the existing Network Time Protocol (NTP). On the basis of this, we propose a relatively accurate time synchronization method, especially in heterogeneous mesh networks. Using this NTP, multiple time coordinators can be placed in a mesh network to find the delay error using the average delay time and the delay time of the time coordinator. Therefore, accurate time can be synchronized when implementing IoT, remote metering, and real-time media streaming using IoT mesh network.
Today we live in the Hyper-Connected Society. The Hyper-Connected Society is the network society connected with hyper-connectivity. We know that this technical substructure of hyper-connectivity is the 4th industrial revolution. In this paper, I want to find the origin of the Hyper-Connected Society by clarifying the pattern of the staged development of industrial revolution. The variation pattern of technical revolution including industrial revolution can be summarized very simply as follows; (1) technical revolution ${\rightarrow}$ network revolution, (2) network revolution화 ${\rightarrow}$ the variation of social network, material revolution${\rightarrow}$spiritual revolution. The pattern of the staged development of industrial revolution is as follows. Therefore, in the aspects of network revolution, the origin of the Hyper-Connected Society is the railroad revolution in USA after 1840.
Ad hoc wireless networks involving large populations of scattered communication nodes will play a key role in the development of low power, high capacity, interactive, multimedia communication networks. Such networks must support arbitrary network connections and provide coverage anywhere and anytime. This paper partitions such arbitrarily connected network architectures into three distinct groups, identifies the associated dual network architectures and counts the number of network architectures assuming there exist N network nodes. Connectivity between network nodes is characterized as a random event. Defining the link availability P as the probability that two arbitrary network nodes in an ad hoc network are directly connected, the network connection probability $ \integral_n$(p) that any two network nodes will be directly or indirectly connected is derived. The network connection probability $ \integral_n$(p) is evaluated and graphically demonstrated as a function of p and N. It is shown that ad hoc wireless networks containing a large number of network nodes possesses the same network connectivity performance as does a fixed network, i.e., for p>0, $lim_{N\to\infty} Integral_n(p)$ = 1. Furthermore, by cooperating with fixed networks, the ad hoc network connection probability is used to derive the global network connection probability for hybrid networks. These probabilities serve to characterize network connectivity performance for users of wireless ad hoc and hybrid networks, e.g., IEEE 802.11, IEEE 802.15, IEEE 1394-95, ETSI BRAN HIPERLAN, Bluetooth, wireless ATM and the world wide web (WWW).

The edges with "bridge characteristic" play the role of connecting the communication between regions in power optical cable network. To solve the problem of mining edges with "bridge characteristic" in provincial power optical cable network, the complex power optical cable network model is constructed. Firstly, to measure the generated potential energy of all nodes in n-level neighborhood local structure for one edge, the n-level neighborhood local structure topological potential is designed. And the minimum connected chain attenuation is designed to measure the attenuation degree caused by substituted edges. On the basis of that, the minimum connected chain attenuation topological potential based measurement is designed. By using the designed measurement, a bridge-edges mining algorithm is proposed to mine edges with "bridge characteristic". The experiments are conducted on the physical topology of the power optical cable network in Jilin Province. Compared with that of other three typical methods, the network efficiency and connectivity of the proposed method are decreased by 3.58% and 28.79% on average respectively. And the proposed method can not only mine optical cable connection with typical "bridge characteristic" but also can mine optical cables without obvious characteristics of city or voltage, but it have "bridge characteristic" in the topology structure.

This paper considers the crucial problem of deploying wireless relays for achieving a connected wireless sensor network in indoor environments, an important aspect related to the management of the sensor network. Several algorithms have been proposed for ensuring full sensing coverage and network connectivity. These algorithms are not applicable to indoor environments because of the complexity of indoor environments, in which a radio signal can be dramatically degraded by obstacles such as walls. We first prove theoretically that the indoor relay placement problem is NP-hard. We then predict the radio coverage of a given relay deployment in indoor environments. We consider two practical scenarios; wire-connected relays and radio-connected relays. For the network with wire-connected relays, we propose an efficient greedy algorithm to compute the deployment locations of relays for achieving the required coverage percentage. This algorithm is proved to provide a $H_n$ factor approximation to the theoretical optimum, where $H_n=1+{\frac{1}{2}}+{\cdots}+{\frac{1}{n}}={\ln}(n)+1$, and n is the number of all grid points. In the network with radio-connected relays, relays have to be connected in an ad hoc mode. We then propose an algorithm based on the previous algorithm for ensuring the connectivity of relays. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithms achieve better performance than baseline algorithms.

I propose the excess noise suppressed optical sensor network using optical CDMA with gain saturated optical amplifier in order to increase number of sensors simultaneously connected to network. Simulation analyses confirm that the maximum number of sensors simultaneously connected to the optical sensor network can be largely increased by increasing the gain of gain saturated optical amplifier owing to the pression of access noises with the assignment of sweeping frequency of optical sensors within 10MHz. In the case of the requested SNR of 20dB and the sweeping frequency of 10MHz, the maximum number of sensors simultaneously connected to the optical sensor network can be increased four times as many as the conventional system.

Recent increase in accessibility to the internet makes it easy to use the internet-connected devices. The internet could allow any user can reach and command any device that is connected to the network. But these teleoperation systems using the internet connected device have several problems such as the network time delay, data loss and development cost of an application for the communication with each other. One feasible solution is to use local and external network line for the network time delay, transmission control protocol for data loss and Java language to reduce the development period and cost. In this study, web-based remote control system using Java language is newly proposed and implemented to a pneumatic servo control system to solve the time delay, data loss and development cost. We have conducted several experiments using pneumatic rodless cylinder through the internet and verified that the proposed remote control system was very effective.
