An Address Autoconfiguration Mechanism for Connected MANET with Multiple Gateways having a Same Network Prefix (동일한 네트워크 프리픽스를 갖는 다중 게이트웨이 기반의 connected MANET에서 주소 자동 설정 방법)

  • Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) allow mobile nodes to communicate among themselves via wireless multiple hops without the help of the wired infrastructure. In the MANET, it is required not only a route setup mechanism that makes nodes not within each other's transmission range communicate but also mechanism in order for a node to auto-configure a unique address. In this paper, we propose an address auto-configuration mechanism when MANET is connected to the Internet via several Internet Gateways and all gateways advertise the same network prefix. By using the proposed mechanism, once a node configures an Internet topologically correct and globally unique IP address, then the node can utilize the configured address even though the node moves within the MANET. Through the simulations, we analyze the performance of our proposed mechanism and, from the simulation results, we show that out proposed mechanism outperforms the existing mechanism.

  • In this paper, we propose an address autoconfiguration mechanism and a route establishment mechanism appropriate for the modified MANET architecture which overcomes the multi-link subnet problem. For the delivery of Router Advertisement (RA) messages without causing the duplicate packet reception problem in the multi-hop wireless network environment, the Scope-Extended RA (Scope-Extended Router Advertisement) message is defined. Also, by defining the MANET Prefix option, a MANET node is allowed to send packets destined to a host not in the MANET directly to the gateway. This can prevent the performance degradation caused by broadcasting control messages of the reactive routing protocol for route establishment. The performance of the proposed mechanism is analyzed through NS-2 based simulations and, according to the simulation results, it is shown that the proposed mechanism performs well in terms of the control message overhead.

  • A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a kind of wireless ad hoc network. It is a self-configuring network of mobile nodes connected by wireless links. Infostation is a lower cost and low power system that provides very high bit rate with limited coverage. In this study, we propose search and rescue system that combines MANET of climbers with Infostations. A climber shares location information of climbers with other climbers while climbing, and delivers the information to Infostations. This system is an intermittent network due to the mobility of nodes. From the system, we can track the locations of missing climbers. Ultimately, proposed system achieves low cost and reduces memory requirement using Infestations. We also analyze the performance of the proposed system by simulation. From the performance analysis results, we expect that the proposed system will be very useful to early detect climbers' locations in emergency situations in Korea mountain areas.

  • The P2P is a network environment supporting data exchange which is directly connected peers without limit of existing server-client and intervening central server for resource or offered service with each peer. JXTA is a representative of P2P system. JXTA is a typical distributed computing model that proposed by Sun Microsystems. JXTA that doesn't require centralized services or resources is adaptable in extreme changes of network organization. MANET(Mobile Ad Hoc Network) is a representative wireless network that is composed of mobile nodes without infrastructure. So MANET establishes the path for the communication of each peers and maintains the newest routing information by exchanging routing information. In this paper, we propose a technique of JXTAMAUET which implements JXTA which is the P2P network system from the wireless network which is becoming the foundation of ubiquitous computing. For the performance evaluation of the JXTAMANET, we use simulation.

  • The MANET that can make autonomous distributed Network with Routing function has many differences than past wireless communication. For upcoming ALL-IP environment, MANET device should be connected with wired Internet Network and MANET is required to have a gateway to bridge two different networks to share information from any place. In this paper, Using the GMAHN Algorithm proposed Proactive, Reactive, Hybrid method that provides Inteface between Wired Internet network and MANET, we learned each method's the advantage and disadvantage through the various network environments. And also, we presented the optimization method of Hybrid combined Proactive with Reactive.

  • Basically Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is an autonomous system with the collection of mobile nodes, these nodes are connected to each other by using wireless networks. A mobile ad hoc network poses this quality which makes topology in dynamic manner. As this type of network is Ad Hoc in nature hence it doesn't have fixed infrastructure. If a node wishes to transfer data from source node to a sink node in the network, the data must be passed through intermediate nodes to reach the destination node, hence in this process data packet loss occurs in various MANET protocols. This research study gives a comparison of various Mobile Ad Hoc Network routing protocols like proactive (DSDV) and reactive (AODV, DSR) by using random topology with more intermediate nodes using CBR traffic. Our simulation used 50, 100, and 150 nodes variations to examine the performance of the MANET routing protocols. We compared the performance of DSDV, AODV and DSR, MANET routing protocols with the result of existing protocol using NS-2 environment, on the basis of different performance parameters like Packet Delivery Ratio, average throughput and average end to end delay. Finally we found that our results are better in terms of throughput and packet delivery ratio along with low data loss.

  • 차량간 무선 통신 환경인 VANET에서 중요하게 여겨지는 문제점 중에 하나는 메시지 브로드캐스팅시 발생 가능한 메시지 폭주 현상(Broadcasting Storm)이다. 최근 무선 애드 혹 네트워크나 이동 애드 혹 네트워크(MANET) 환경에서 이를 해결하기 위해 Connected Dominating Set(CDS) 기법을 제안하여 최대한 중복된 메시지가 전달되지 않도록 하였다. MANET의 한 분야인 차량 애드 혹 네트워크(VANET)에서도 이러한 CDS 가상 백본 망을 이용하면 효율적인 메시지 전파를 기대할 수 있지만, 그 동안의 CDS 생성 기법은 노드의 속도와 방향이 고려되지 않았기 때문에 안정적인 CDS 망을 유지할 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 VANET 환경에 적합한 CDS 환경을 만들기 위해 노드의 이동성을 고려한 기존의 Timer-based CDS 생성 기법에 속도와 방향 두 가지 인자를 추가하여 Velocity-based Multi-CDS(VM-CDS) 기법을 제안하였고, 시뮬레이션을 통해 기존 방안보다 더 안정적으로 유지됨을 입증하였다.

  • MANET(Mobile Ad Hoc NETwork) is a collection of mobile nodes that are free to move and organize themselves in an arbitrary manner without any fixed infrastructures. These mobile nodes are connected by wireless links and act as routers for all other nodes in the network. As a router each node in MANET consumes its batteries when forwarding a message, and the selection of the best path to minimize the total power needed to route packets is needed to maximize the lifetime of all nodes. In this paper, we propose a routing protocol considering the remaining battery capacity of nodes in the routing paths. The proposed scheme prevents the battery of each node from being overused and increases the lifetime of the network.

All sorts of infortainments services connecting with the portable electronic device(Smart phone, tablet PC, and MP3 player) and car are rapidly grown. The Connected car emphasizes the vehicle connectivity with the concept that the car has communication with the around on a real time basis and it provides the safety and expedience to the operator and using the thing of Internet (IoT) in the car and supports the application, presently, the entertainment service including the real-time Navigation, parking assistant function, not only the remote vehicle control and management service but also Email, multimedia streaming service, SNS and with the platform. Intelligent vehicle network is studied as the kind according to MANET(Mobile Ad Hoc Network) for the safety operation of the cars of the road and improving the efficiency of the driving.
