  • Sound manipulation is to control sound field using multiple sound sources for appropriate purposes. In linear acoustics, a sound can be constructed by superimposing several fundamental sound fields such as a planewave and sphere shape sound field. That is how we manipulate sound field. In this paper, we introduce the theory of sound manipulation and its applications from the examples of the generation of fundamental sound field: a circle, a ring shape sound field and a planewave field.

  • In this study, we focus on precise and natural cooperative object manipulation in a virtual space. We introduce two virtually expanded physical laws-virtual mechanical equilibrium on a rigid object and exclusive object arrangement-to create realistic cooperative manipulation. We have built a trial system according to our proposed design. The method is expected to allow users to exchange intended manipulation by haptic and visual channels.

  • In this paper, a new multiple servers conference service system using media control channel/distributed conference manipulation architecture has been presented. This conference service system can handle loads effectively from many conference participants. In this suggested architecture, media control channels are established between conference server, and distributed conference manipulation messages for distributing system loads are exchanged through this channels. These messages are transported between servers using media control channel created after stable transport sessions, and can be used to process server loads according to participants effectively. So this method can be used to implement large scale conference service system. For these purposes, formats of distributed conference manipulation messages which transmitted through media control channels are designed. and messages exchange procedures between conference servers are also presented. The performance of the proposed conference service system has been analysed by experiments, and the results show that the performances are improved according to participants.

  • Objectives : The aims of this study were to introduce the theory of traditional Chinese orthopedic theory(整脊理論) and to analyze the guideline of diagnosis and treatment of common spinal disorders by treating Chinese spinal manipulation technique(常見病中醫整脊指南). Methods : We have searched the web sites of traditional Chinese orthopedics association (整脊學會), a branch of the China academy of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and related articles. Additionally, we analyzed the guideline of diagnosis and treatment of common spinal disorders by treating Chinese spinal manipulation technique which was introduced by that association at 7th academic conference in China in 2011. Results : The guideline was prepared by 2 year project leaded by professor Yi-zhong Wei who was a person in charge of the spinal manipulation guideline of national standardization committee of TCM in China. It was a summary of the whole theory of China spinal manipulation therapy in TCM and contained 22 common spinal disorders by the treatment of traditional Chinese Tuina methods. Spinal manipulation theory was summarized by one doctrine, two theories, and two important view points. The treatment method was abstracted as 8 major Tuina techniques. Conclusions : The guideline will be a way of advance of Chinese spinal manipulation technique. This will be a good reference to Korea Chuna manipulation for improving their techniques.

  • Generation of transgenic fish acquiring the ability to express desirable phenotypes offers new possibilities for addressing fundamental biological questions, and can also attribute to enhanced aquaculture productivity. I describe here the recent research progress in my laboratory with particular emphasis on the development of fast-growing autotransgenic fish and its chromosome-set manipulation using our experimental organism, the mud loach, Misgurnus mizolepis. • Conventionally, biological manipulations have been performed manually with long training and pretty low success rates. To overcome this problem, a novel biological manipulation system has been developed to manipulate biological cells without any interference of a human operator, In this paper, we demonstrate a development of tole-autonomous Cell Manipulation System (CMS) using an image processing at a remote site. The CMS consists of two manipulators, a plane stage, and an optical microscope. We developed deformable template-model-matching algorithm for micro objects and pattern matching algorithm of end effect for these manipulators in order to control manipulators and the stage. Through manipulation of biological cells using these algorithms, the performance of the CMS is verified experimentally.

  • This purpose of this study was about the analysis on the dynamic expression of geometric manipulation in interior composition elements. The paradigm of contemporary times became different from paradigm of modern times. The change of paradigm is caused by the side effect of paradigm of pre-times. In the contemporary architectural condition, architecture have a tendency to plural characteristics. This study investigates systemically ‘the DYNAMISM’ as a part of contemporary interior space's feature, based on geometric manipulation in interior composition elements. First of all, the dynamic characteristics of architectural space. The second, relationship between the architecture and geometric manipulation.
