  • This study was performed to evaluate properties of recycled concrete for roadway pavement. Recycled concretes was manufactured for the target compressive strength of 280kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and 180kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ with recycled aggregate ratio of 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, respectively. Laboratory experiment was conducted for testing properties of fresh concrete and concrete strength at curing 28days and durability by freezing and thawing treatment. The study result presented a maximum replacement ratio of recycled material.

  • This paper summarized deformation properties of hydroelectric power concrete dam through the comparison between measured and analysed data. This is a part of the process to evaluate concrete dam safety, which has become a critical concern in the country. We analysed strain and angle deformation data by considering only the effect of atmosphere temperature to evaluate deformation properties of Gaisan hydroelectric power concrete dam. Analysis results are almost identical with measured data, and behavior of Gusian dam can be cleared up more reliably in case of acting the external loads (seismic, wind water pressure, etc.) except the influence of temperature.

  • The velocity and amplitude of microwaves are affected by the electromagnetic properties of a material through which the wave propagates. And the electromagnetic properties of a dielectric material such as concrete is represented by its permittivity. For the development of an accurate and reliable nondestructive testing (NDT) technique for concrete structures using microwave, it is necessary to have knowledge about the permittivity of concrete. In this paper, mortar specimens are used to serve as a basis for further measurement of concrete. The effect of water on the permittivity was studied using specimens with different water content. To assure the reliability of the measurement results, a statistical method was introduced.

  • This study was carried out ont the longterm aged reinforced concrete housings for the prediction of life expectancy and the suggestion of fundamental informations on the durable concrete. In this paper, the durability of concrete is compared with carbonation depth, and the measutrments fo carbonation depth and properties have been made on the number of cores taken from structures. And finally, the relationships between carbonation rate and such properties as strength, absorption ratio, density were examined.

  • In the present paper a 3D thermo-hygro-mechanical model for concrete is used to study explosive spalling of concrete cover at high temperature. For a given boundary conditions the distribution of moisture, pore pressure, temperature, stresses and strains are calculated by employing a three-dimensional transient finite element analysis. The used thermo-hygro-mechanical model accounts for the interaction between hygral and thermal properties of concrete. Moreover, these properties are coupled with the mechanical properties of concrete, i.e., it is assumed that the mechanical properties (damage) have an effect on distribution of moisture (pore pressure) and temperature. Stresses in concrete are calculated by employing temperature dependent microplane model. To study explosive spalling of concrete cover, a 3D finite element analysis of a concrete slab, which was locally exposed to high temperature, is performed. It is shown that relatively high pore pressure in concrete can cause explosive spalling. The numerical results indicate that the governing parameter that controls spalling is permeability of concrete. It is also shown that possible buckling of a concrete layer in the spalling zone increases the risk for explosive spalling.

  • The physical, mechanical, water purification and temperature properties of fiber reinforced porous hwang-toh green roof concrete have been evaluated in this study. The effect of the depending on replacement ratio of blast furnace slag to cement was investigated such that the replacement ratio is varied to 0 % and 30 %. Also, the replacement ratios of hwang-toh were 0, 20 and 30 %. The polyvinyl alcohol fiber was used for the reinforcing fiber. A series of pH test, unit weight, void ratio, compressive strength, after purification and variation of temperature test have been performed to evaluate the performance, water purification effect and temperature properties of the fiber reinforced porous hwang-toh green roof concrete. The test results indicate that the physical and mechanical properties of fiber reinforced porous hwang-toh green roof concrete is affected by the replacement ratio of the blast furnace slag and hwang-toh contents. Results of purifying water showed that the water purification effect of porous hwang-toh green roof concrete is about 40 %. Also, the temperature properties test results indicate the green roof blocks using fiber reinforced porous hwang-toh green roof concrete have insulation and temperature reduction effect.

  • An experimental study was carried out for the estimate of the properties of concrete contained an antiwashout admixtures. Properties of antiwashout under water concrete clearly differed from other types of concrete. This paper reports the effects of specific types, dosage of antiwashout admixtures and superplasticizer. The test results have indicated that dosage of antiwashout admixture and superplsticizer to improve the antiwashing property, fluidity and compressive strength will be approximately 2.5kg/$\textrm{m}^3$, 8~10kg/$\textrm{m}^3$ of the weight of concrete each. When cellulous ether type antiwashout admixture is added with a napthalen sulphonate superplasticizer, resulting in reduced whole properties of antiwasout under water concrete.

  • Production of high strength concrete requires a low water-cement ratio and this leads to the high cement content. Mineral admixture like fly ash(FA) is often cheaper than ordinary portland cement(OPC) and this factor in combination with possible improvement in workability and moderation of the heat evolution of the cement-rich mixes tends to encourage its use. The other mineral admisture that its use has been widly advocated is silica fume that increases compressive strength due to its pozzolanic reaction. The objective of this study is to assess the contribution of mineral admixtures(FA, SF) to the workability and the strength of concrete with low water-binder ratios. In this experimental study that investigates and analyzes the properties of fresh concrete. it is presented that using admixtures like flyash and silica fume as binding material increases properties of high strength flowing concrete having very low water cementitious ratios of 0.25 and 0.30.

  • This is the study on the feature of workability and engineering properties of flowing concrete using the superplasticizing agents which is using to effect considerable reductions in water contents in the same level of consistemcy and workability. It is the aim of this study to compare workabili쇼 and engineering properties of flowing concrete according to the addition time and method of superplasticizing agents. In this experimental study, 2cm slump of concrete, 18cm slump of conventional concrete, two kinds of aggregates and addition time and method of superplasticizing agents of 0, 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 minutes were included to analyze and investigate the workability and engineering properties of flowing concrete.
