Insulation Characteristic of Waste Sawdust-mixing Concrete (폐톱밥 혼입 콘크리트의 단열특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Saw dust concrete f3r finding out insulation characteristic was tested using test plate $30cm{\times}30cm{\times}5cm$. basically, molds f3r the test of compressive, tensile, normal without sawdust, $0.05\%,\;0.1\%,\;0.2\%,\; 0.4\%,\;0.6\%,\;0.8\%,\;1.0\%,\;1.2\%,\;1.4\%,\;1.6\%,\;1.5\%,\;2.0\%$, mixing proportion. heat conductivity of the saw dust concrete mixed with the above proportion was taken in this study. Thermal conduction of normal concrete depends on mixing proportion strength aggregate character, water content. all these items are specified here in fables. $1.8\%\~2.0\%$ saw-dust mising concrete shows as the faction as normal insulation material has its function. and the higher saw-dust mixing rate becomes, the thermal conduction becomes the less Then, the conclusions are that saw-dust using concrete has better insulation function than normal concrete.

Genetic algorithm-based yield stress equations for concrete at high temperature and prolonged mixing time

  • Experiments were designed to investigate the flow behavior of portland cement paste and concrete incorporating superplasticizers. The paste and concrete mixtures were subjected to prolonged mixing for up to 110 min at high temperature. The yield stress values of concrete and that of the corresponding cement paste were measured using a rotating rheometer and viscometer, respectively. The results reveal a weak linear correlation between the yield stress of concrete mixtures and that of the corresponding cement pastes. Results also indicate that the yield stress of concrete varies in a linear fashion with the elapsed time, while its variations with the temperature and superplasticizer dosage follow power and inverse power functions, respectively. In this study, the genetic algorithms (GA) technique was used to predict the yield stress of concrete considering various parameters, such as the mixing time, ambient temperature, and superplasticizer dosage. A sensitivity study was conducted to evaluate the ability of the GA equations thus developed to capture the effects of test parameters on the yield stress of concrete. It was found that the GA equations were sensitive to the effects of test parameters and provided yield stress predictions that compared well with corresponding experimental data.

  • An experimental study is carried out to estimate the effects of mixing and placing condition on the mechanical properties of anti-washout concrete. According to the test results, mixing method and placing temperature do affect the characteristics of rrsh concrete, while they do not affect the strength development of anti-washout concrete. But, concrete strength was greatly affected by the placing condition and placing height. Concrete strength decreases linearly as the placing height increased. Compared to the normal concrete, the increase in strength is not associated much with an increase in the elastic modulus of anti-washout concrete.

  • Since the mechanism of chloride diffusion and its ratio in concrete depend on structural conditions and concrete as a micro-structure, if these are analyzed quantitatively, the long-term ageing of structures can be predicted. Although, a quantitative analysis of concrete micro-structure, in which the results are affected by various parameters, is very difficult, this can be done indirectly by the durability test of concrete. In this study, the compressive strength, void ratio and air permeability of concrete. In this study, the compressive strength, void ratio and air permeability of concrete are chosen as the parameters in concrete durability test, and these effects on test results are analysed according to changes of mixing properties. The relationships between parameters and chloride diffusion velocity is used for prediction models of chloride diffusion. The developed prediction models for the chloride diffusion according to mixing and physical properties, can be used to estimate the service life and corrosion initiation of reinforcing bars in marine structures.

  • Waste concrete powder(WCP) is a secondary by-product generated while processing waste concrete manufactured to coarse and fine aggregates for concrete. In order to assess the possibility of using WCP as admixture for self-compacting concrete, self-compactability, compressive strength and durability of self-compacting concrete containing waste concrete powder were investigated. Experimental results of this study appeared that in case of SCC mixed with WCP only, self-compactability and compressive strength decreased with increasing mixing ratio of WCP. When Blast-furnace slag(BFS) was added to SCC, self-compactability and compressive strength for a unit amount of cement increased. Also, SCC containing 15% BFS and 15%, 30% and 45% WCP, the dry shrinkage and carbonation depth appeared a tendency to decrease with increasing mixing ratio.

Evaluation of Mixing Conditions for the Production of Optimized High Flowing Concrete

  • Most difficulties of inducing high fluidity on the concrete mixing design with a strength range of 210 to 240kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ result from the segregation of aggregates due to the shortage of cementitious binders. To solve the problem, this study concentrated on finding the optimized amount of binder material which does not affect the concrete strength and is also economical. Also there were studies on the use of intermediate sized aggregates to avoid the gap-grading between coarse and fine aggregates so that the material segregation in high flowing concrete was and minimalized the fluidity and penetration capacity of the reinforcing bars was enhanced. Throughout the parametric study with respect to water/binder ratio. superplasticizer. replaceable mineral admixture, the size of coarse aggregate and mixing methods, the effect of each constituent on the characteristics of high flowing concrete could be observed. As a result or partially using stone powder or an intermediate class of aggregate (max. diameter 13mm) . it was fund that the fluidity of concrete significantly increased without material segregation and any change of compressive strengths. It was also proved in this study that proper mixing time and speed are significant factors influence the performence of high flowing concrete.

A Study on the Calculation of Ternary Concrete Mixing using Bidirectional DNN Analysis (양방향 DNN 해석을 이용한 삼성분계 콘크리트의 배합 산정에 관한 연구)

  • The concrete mix design and compressive strength evaluation are used as basic data for the durability of sustainable structures. However, the recent diversification of mixing factors has created difficulties in calculating the correct mixing factor or setting the reference value concrete mixing design. The purpose of this study is to design a predictive model of bidirectional analysis that calculates the mixing elements of ternary concrete using deep learning, one of the artificial intelligence techniques. For the DNN-based predictive model for calculating the concrete mixing factor, performance evaluation and comparison were performed using a total of 8 models with the number of layers and the number of hidden neurons as variables. The combination calculation result was output. As a result of the model's performance evaluation, an average error rate of about 1.423% for the concrete compressive strength factor was achieved. and an average MAPE error of 8.22% for the prediction of the ternary concrete mixing factor was satisfied. Through comparing the performance evaluation for each structure of the DNN model, the DNN5L-2048 model showed the highest performance for all compounding factors. Using the learned DNN model, the prediction of the ternary concrete formulation table with the required compressive strength of 30 and 50 MPa was carried out. The verification process through the expansion of the data set for learning and a comparison between the actual concrete mix table and the DNN model output concrete mix table is necessary.

Studies on the Durable Properties of Porous Concrete for Permeable Pavement using Polymer (폴리머를 혼입한 투수성 포장용 콘크리트의 내구성능에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This study is analyzed mechanical properties and durability of pavement of a road permeability porous concrete to mix polymer for the enhance of porous concrete of performance and durability. As a result, void ratio showed the tendency which the mixing rate of polymer is decreased a little as increased. And, the influence of void ratio according to the kind of polymer has the difference, but void ratio showed the tendency which the mixing rate of polymer is decreased a little as increased. Compressive strength showed the tendency which the mixing rate of polymer is increased a little as increased. but, it showed the tendency to be reduced rather when above $20\%$ it mixed polymer mixing rate $10\%$ at apex.

  • The exiting studies on the strength prediction by maturity method is mainly focused on concrete using OPC, meanwhile the study on the concrete mixing blast furnace slag powder (BFSP) is insufficient. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships between compressive strength and equivalent age by existing Maturity functions, i.e., Nurse-saul function Arrhenius function. This study also compared and examined the strength prediction of concrete mixing BGSP using ACI model and Logistic Curve prediction equation. Therefore, it is intended that fundamental data are presented for quality management and process management of concrete mixing BFSP.

  • In this study, it was developed eco-friendly mix design of mine sprayed concrete, which satisfies both the stability and economics by mixing the industrial in cement, for development of the mine sprayed concrete and recycling of industrial. From this research, it is found that mixing of mineral admixture is effective on strength enhancement. Also, it is considered that designed mixing ratio of sprayed concrete using industrial byproducts should be applied to the field through field test.
