This paper presents a laboratory investigation into the effects of fillers using industrial by-product such as coal ash, IGCC slag on properties of hot-mixed asphalt concrete variation with filler content. For comparison, existing mixture with lime and dust have also been considered. Marshall and flow test has been considered for the purpose of mix design as well as evaluation of mixture. Other performance tests such as indirect tensile strength test, tensile strength ratio(moisture susceptibility), dynamic stability have also been carried out variation with filler content. It is observed that the mixes with industrial by-product exhibit conform with quality standard. Therefore, it has been recommended to utilize industrial by-product based on fly ash wherever available, not only reducing the produce cost but also partly solve the industrial by-product utilization and disposal problem.

Natural frequency is a key parameter to determine the seismic and wind loading of tall flexible structures, and to assess the wind-induced vibration for serviceability check. In this study, natural frequencies and associated mode shapes were obtained from measured acceleration data and system identification technique. Subsequently, finite element(FE) models for a tall reinforced concrete buildings were built using a popular PC-based finite element analysis program and calibrated to match their natural frequencies and mode shapes to actual values. The calibration of the FE model included: 1) compensation of modulus of elasticity considering the mix design strength, 2) flexural stiffness of floor slabs, and 3) major non-structural components such as plain concrete walls. Natural frequencies and mode shapes from the final FE model showed best agreement with the measured values.
The pulished works on Accelerated Curing Effect were generally performed around from 1960 to 1970th century for 18 to 24 hours - total curing periods. It is not possible to define the effect of temperature rise because those results were obtaine mainly by using the manually operated steam-curing tank. Thus, it may not be available to apply those data immediately on the domestic PC wall production line. The testing specimens were made from the standard mix proportion according to those of domestic PC factories to establish a basic data for the Accelerated Curing Effect. The experimental tests were conducted according to the conditions of each sub-curing periods. By comparing the results of compression tests on de-molded and 28-day water-curing specimens, we find that the most effective curing condition to obtain more than the required design strength after 28 day of water curing may be as follows: the presteaming period does not affect seriously and less than$30^{circ}C/hr$- the rate of temperature rise andless than $82^{circ}C$ - maximum temperature are necessary. It seems that post-curing procedure is very important factor to increase the effect of accelerated curing.
This paper presents an experimental study on the potential durability enhancement of infrastructures repaired by a sprayed high ductile fiber-reinforced cementitious composite (ECC). For this study, a PVA-ECC which exhibits sprayable properties in the fresh state and tensile strain-hardening behavior in hardened state was sprayed and tested. The experimental results show that the sprayed ECC exhibits mechanical properties with strain capacity comparable to the cast ECC with the same mix design. During loading, the crack widths of ECC are tightly controlled with an average of 30${\mu}m$. It is also revealed that when sprayed ECC is used as a repair material, ductility represented by deformation capacity at peak load of repaired beams in flexure are obviously increased in comparison to those of commercial prepackaged mortar (PM) repaired beams. In addition to high delamination resistance, the significant enhancement of energy absorption capacity and crack width control in ECC repair system suggest that sprayed ECC can be effective in extending the service life of rehabilitated infrastructures.

More than 90% of roadway in the world are paved as asphalt concrete pavement due to its excellent properties compared with other paving materials; excellent riding quality, flexibility, anti-icing property and easy maintenance-ability. In this study, to make best use of the softer property of the asphalt mixture, the flexible sand asphalt mixture (FSAM) was developed for pedestrian ways. The mix design was conducted to prepare FSAM using PG64-22 asphalt, screenings (sand) less than 5mm, crumb rubber, hydrated lime and limestone powder without coarse aggregate. The deformation strength ($S_D$), indirect tensile strength (ITS) and tensile strength ratio (TSR) tests were conducted to make sure durability of FSAM performance. The impact energy absorption and flexibility were measured by drop-boll test and the resilient modulus ($M_R$) test. The impact energy absorption of FSAM was compared with normal asphalt pavement, concrete pavement, stone and concrete block for pedestrian way. As a result of drop-boll test, FSAM showed higher impact energy absorption compared with other paving materials with the range of 18% to 43%. Impact energy absorption of FSAM increased with increasing test temperature from 5 to $40^{\circ}C$. The results of $M_R$ test at $5^{\circ}C$ showed that the flexibility of FSPA was increased further, because the $M_R$ value of the sand asphalt was measured to be 38% lower than normal dense-graded asphalt mixture (WC-1). Therefore, it was concluded that the FSAM could provide a high impact absorbing characteristics, which would improve walking quality of the pedestrian ways.
The aims of this research is to develop a fire resistant admixture to enhance high-pressured pumping of high-strength concrete (HSC) with a compressive strength of 60~80 MPa. Generally, the efficiency of HSC high-pressured pumping is dramatically reduced due to entanglement of short fibers added to prevent fire spalling. Therefore, the fire resistant admixture that can facilitate pumping of fire resistant HSC is urgently needed presently. The fire resistant HSC mix is comprised of Polypropylene fiber, Nylon fiber and Polymer powder. The test results showed that the slump-flow was improved by approximately 70% of the HSC without fire resistant admixture. However, the air void content was increased slightly due to the addition. The standard design compressive strength at 28-days was satisfied, while its flexural strength was similar to the concrete without the admixture. Since the flexural strength was 12~15% of its compressive strength, the general trend of flexural to compressive strength ratio in normal concrete was maintained. Even though its elastic modulus was decreased by adding the admixture, the study results showed that the concrete can be used for construction since all of the test results exceeded the code requirements.
Reinforced concrete starts to corrode when the chloride ion concentration which is the sum of included in concrete and penetrated from environments exceeds a certain level of critical chloride concentration. Therefore each country regulates the upper bounds of chloride amount in concrete and the regulations are different for each country due to its circumstances. In this study, the critical threshold chloride content according to unit cement amount is empirically calculated to propose a reasonable regulation method on the chloride amount. As a result, the critical threshold chloride content increases considerably according to cement content and it agrees with the established theories. The present regulations on total chloride amount 0.3 or 0.6 kg chloride ions per $1\;m^3$ of concrete does not reflect the influences of mix design, environmental conditions and etc. So it can be said that it is more reasonable to regulate the critical threshold chloride content by the ratio of chloride amount per unit cement content than by the total chloride content in $1\;m^3$ of concrete.

Currently, due to global warming, occurrences of extreme climate phenomena such as heat wave, heavy snow, heavy rain, super typhoon are continuously increasing all over the world. Due to these extreme climate phenomena, concrete structures and infrastructures are exposed to serious deterioration and damage. However, researches on construction technologies and standards to confront the climate change generated problems are needed presently. In order to better handle these problems, the validity of the present concrete mixture proportions are evaluated considering wind speed and sunlight exposure time based on climate change record in Seoul, Korea. The specimens cured at various wind speed and sunlight exposure time conditions were tested to obtain their compressive and split tensile strengths at various curing ages. Moreover, performance based evaluation (PBE) method was used to analyze the target strength satisfaction percentage of the concrete cured for the curing conditions. From the probabilistic method of performance evaluation of concrete performance, feasibility and usability of current concrete mix design practice for climate change conditions can be evaluated.

The durability factors of concrete has been researched by many researchers. Among the chemical ingression by acid, alkali, or salt, specially the ingression by sulfate has been actively studied and reported. Generally, for the oil type chemical, it is reported to cause the excessive expansion of cement mortar and further to cause the collapse, while there was no enough research on influence of oil type, relationship with microstructure of mortar, and collapse pattern. Therefore, in this research, using the various oils from general market, the degradation properties of the mortar mixtures with various mix designs were evaluated. according to the experiment, Bio diesel damaged worst and the mix design with less cement content showed the worst damage against oils.

Precast concrete method is known to have advantages of minimizing works in the construction, controlling concrete quality easily and saving construction period due to only fabrication work in the construction field, but it needs to apply steam curing to accelerate early concrete strength. In the meanwhile, the oil cost for steam curing has been continuously increased because of political instability in the middle East and international economic shaky. Thus, this study addresses the development of precast/ prestressed concrete which has over 14MPa at 1 day age and specified concrete strength of 40MPa at low temperature, not applying steam curing. Tests were carried out in terms of material characteristics in fresh concrete and compressive strength using 3 types of cement such as Type I, Type III and rapid hardening compound cement. As results of tests, it is found that cements for rapid hardening had disadvantages with respect to slump, slump loss, and air content, but showed higher compressive strength than specified one, especially the highest value when using rapid hardening compound.
