글로벌 공학리더를 양성하기 위한 리더십 역량 연구 (A Study on a Leadership Skill for Cultivating Global Engineering Leaders)

  • This study proposes content and instruction of leadership education based on the results of evaluation and analysis of leadership skill of present levels of students who registered for 'leadership development and training' course which is liberal arts elective course of the 'Accreditation Board of Engineering Education in Korea' and provides best practices to develop leadership skill and to attain academic achievement 2, 4, 6, 7 of 12 academic achievement required by KEC2005. To accomplish a purpose of the study, I divide leadership skill into technical skill, human skill and conceptual skill that suggested by Katz and then measure students' leadership skill. The contents of leadership education to develop and enforce three leadership skills are as follows. First, for developing technical skill, there is a need for systematic education of basic working experience relevant to a major field of study. Second, for developing human skill, there is a need for education of leadership, motivation, conflict management, communication, group dynamics and presentation etc. Third, for developing conceptual skill, there is a need for education of founding vision, business strategy and creative idea etc.

문제중심학습 개념의 환자관리 Core Skill-TLP 교육교재 개발 및 적용 (An Examples Development and Implementation of Core Skill-TLP Package in Patient Management)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to develop and apply a Core Skill-TLP(Core Skill-Tutorial, Laboratory, Practicum) package in Patient Management and to effect of core skill-TLP education. Methods : This study was used to developed Patient Management' Core Skill-TLP package throughout 14 steps of Core Skill-TLP package development model. Then, Core Skill-TLP Learning methodology was implemented in first year student in the undergraduate emergency medical technology, and survey was done. Results : 1. Core Skill-TLP package model was presented based on conceptual model of PBL(S-PBL). 2, The student in OSCE did significantly better in clinical patient management core skills performance. 3. As to the satisfaction of Core Skill-TLP package management, student, tutor and self-satisfaction score was 3.21, 3.42, 3.38 respectively. Conclusion : This study was suggested that Core Skill-TLP education would be necessary with well-structured package and achieved advantage of simulation and PBL.

간호 관리 능력 개발을 위한 교육 연구 (Needs on Management Development Program for Head Nurse)

  • The objectives of this study are to identify the actual educational contents of management for head nurse and to propose the educational subjects according to identity the needs of head, charge, and staff nurses. The subjects were investigated the actual Management Development Programs and educational needs of head nurses and prospective nurse manager(charge nurse, staff nurse with a lot of clinical experiences) in general hospitals. The tools were composed of two questionnaires: One was developed from the literature review for making items to measure actual situation. The other was revised Katz's model for measurement of educational needs. The first respondents of actual situation were 27 general hospitals with over 400 beds in Seoul and the second respondents were 89 head nurses, 67 charge nurses and 136 nurses at 3 hospitals by convenient sampling out of 27 general hospitals. Data were collected by telephone interview, mail questionnaire and visiting from 7th of October through 30th of November in 1997. In data analysis, general characteristics of the respondents and actual status of Management Development Programs were analyzed by frequency and percentage. Educational needs according to general characteristics were analyzed by ANOVA The results were as follows: 1. Actual situation of Management Development Program 1) Seven hospitals(26%) had Management Development Program for prospective managers and 14 hospitals (52%) for head nurses. 2) Education Department existed in 14 hospitals (52%). 3) One hospital(4%) had top level managers took part in the Management Development. 4) Two hospitals selected head nurse, who had finished courses of Management Development. Eight hospitals(30%) assessed educational needs. The assessment tools consisted of making a question via questionnaire(75%), determining at department meeting(12%) and interview(13%). 5) Educational programs had 3 types: 10 lecture type, 7 discussion type and 4 role play type programs. 6) One hospital evaluated the change of learner's attitude. 7) Four hospitals scored educational point, but that was measured only by attending. 8) Actual Management Development Programs were as follows. parenthesis indicates the number of hospitals. (1) Management Development Programs for Prospective manager. Role perception of Middle level Manager (1) . Role reconstruction of Nurse Manager (1). Workshop for Charge Nurse (1). Nursing Delivery System and Nursing Process (1). Communication (1). Motivation (1) (2) Management Development Programs for Head nurse.. Head nurse's Role (5). Administrative Work (7). Service Education (4). Prevention and Countermeasure of Nursing Incidence (3). Appraisal (3) 2. The results of needs on Management Development subject 1) The educational needs of all respondents on 3 skill domains showed positive agreement to strongly positive agreement. 2) High priority(more than 4.5) items were 12 of 24 Human skill items(50%), 1 of 6 Technical skill items(16%), and 2 of 13 Conceptual skill items (15%). 3) Out of high priority items, 8 items were instituted. 4) All respondents showed high needs on 3 skill domains regardless of 3 positions (head nurse, charge nurse, and nurse). Educational needs of Human skill domain, according to position were 108. S, 108.7, 106.8 (mean score = 72) , needs of Technical skill domain were 26.5, 26.6, 26.I(mean score=18), and needs of Conceptual skill domains were 56.9,56.7, 55.1(mean score=39). 5) Needs of 3 skill domains according to clinical career showed significant difference. Out of respondents, nurses with career of over 16years showed lowest degree of needs in Human skill domains(F=4.47, P=.004) and Conceptual skill domain(F=2.93, P=.034). 6) Educational needs according to educational background were not significant difference. But out of respondents, nurses educated at 3-year junior college relatively showed lowest needs in all of the 3 skill domains. With the above-mentioned findings, further study is necessary for generalization of this study at hospitals with different bed size and location. Also it is needed to study about management skill of nurse and charge nurse, and effective educational method.

환경 소양 개념의 변천과 환경 소양 측정 연구 (A Study on the Conceptual Evolution of Environmental Literacy and Its Assessment)

  • In this study, after establishing assessment framework and reviewing the conceptual evolution and component of EL(Environmental Literacy) through literature review, through middle school students as population, the level of EL and relationship of its related variables were examined. The investigation was consisted of second and third grades of urban and rural middle schools in Choongbook. The used measurement methods were objective evaluation and Likert-type scale. The questionnaire instrument variables were consisted of 80 items on environmental literacy variables and six items on student gender, area of residence, environmental lesson, degree of environmental concern, environmental information, environmental activity as background variables. The major findings of this study were as follows: 1. Although the broad and obscure concept of EL has been evolved until 1992, it has been developed more systematic and precise after 1992. But there is not still an agreed concept. 2. The subordinate components of EL were consisted of cognitive, affective, and behavioral aspects. Both ecological knowledge(KEOC) and environmental skill(SKILL) were determined to serve as two powerful predictors of EL. 3. The level of EL of middle school student was showed statistically significant difference to some variables by student gender, residential area, environmental lesson, environmental concern, environmental information, and environmental activity variables. And the most influential variables of EL in middle school student were environmental skill(SKILL), and locus of control (LOC). Based on the findings of this study, the following suggestions are drawn: It should be established a precise concept on EL as the ultimate aim of environmental education both interdisciplinary cooperation and experts of environmental education and also performed further longitudinal study which assessed multidimensional variables which are able to exactly measure the EL of middle school student.

제 7차 중학교 환경 교과서 내의 환경 기능 분석 (Analysis of Skills in Korean Middle School-Level Environmental Education Textbooks)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze and compare Korean middle school-level environmental education(EE) textbooks. More specifically, these analyses and comparisons were designed to explore the extent to which environmental investigation skills were addressed in these EE textbooks (i.e., curriculum inclusion), as well as the manner in which these skills were to be taught and learned (i.e., instructional approaches). To analyze EE textbooks, the researchers developed a 'Curriculum Analysis Chart' that include six skill clusters and four instructional strategies. This analytic chart permitted the researchers to determine which skills were featured in selected textbooks, as well as which skill-oriented instructional strategies accompanied each of those skills. The chart was revised several times through pilot analyses. Using the final version of this chart, the researchers analyzed and then compared the three textbooks. This analysis indicated that the Korean middle school-level EE textbooks were designed to support conceptual learning and understanding of environment and environmental problems/issues (i.e., content-oriented), and were designed to support skill learning to a moderate degree. On the basis of textbooks analysis, the researchers offered several recommendations for future research, and for educational practices in EE.

Exploring Antecedents of Consumers' Willingness to Depend on E-Health Information

  • Previous research on online health (e-health) information was primarily focused on consumer information search behavior and information quality. Although studies addressing online information quality have flourished, they have yet to thoroughly examine whether consumers actually use the information they search. The purspose of this study suggests a conceptual framework that examines the potential antecedents of a consumers' willingness to depend on e-health information as an indicator of the consumer's trust of the provided e-health information. The proposed antecedents include healthcare product involvement, online skill level, perceived quality, and credibility of the source. Using structural equation modeling on online survey data, seven hypotheses, which describe the relationships between the variables of the model, were tested. The results indicate that consumer willingness to depend on provided e-health information was significantly influenced by the consumers' perceived quality and credibility of specific e-health information. Consumer involvement in healthcare and their online skill-level, respectively, also positively related to perceived quality and credibility regarding e-health information.

무게 단원 수업에서 겪는 교사와 학생의 어려움 분석 (An Analysis of Difficulties of Teachers and Students in Class on Weight)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 무게 재기 단원을 지도한 교사가 겪는 어려움과 무게 재기 단원을 학습하는 학생들이 겪는 어려움을 탐색하는 데에 있다. 이를 위해 교사 대상으로는 설문지, 면담, 자기반성성찰지를, 학생 대상으로는 설문지, 단원평가지, 면담을 통하여 자료를 수집하였으며 반복적으로 자료를 검토하고 범주화 하였다. 분석한 자료는 과학교육 전문가 2명과 함께 검토하였다. 연구결과 교사들이 겪는 어려움은 교사들의 절차적 지식의 부족, 교육과정의 연계성 부족, 충분하지 못한 수업환경, 그리고 학생들의 조작능력 미숙으로부터 나타났다. 학생들이 겪는 어려움은 오개념의 발생, 이해하기 어려운 개념, 조작능력 미숙, 수학적 능력의 부족, 실제에 원리 적용의 어려움, 문제해결능력 부족으로부터 나타났다. 그리고 교사들은 학생들이 실험부분에서 더 어려움을 겪는다고 인식을 하였으나 학생들은 개념을 이해하는데 더 많은 어려움을 겪는 것으로 나타났다.

권력의 장치로서의 사회복지 : 푸코의 권력이론에 입각한 '권한부여' 비판 (Social Welfare as an Apparatus of Power : A Critique on 'Empowerment' from the Foucault's Theory of Power)

  • From Foucault's Perspective of power, this study is trying to illuminate the characteristics and limitations of 'empowerment' which is widely accepted as a central value and practice skill of social work. Notwithstanding the superficial consensus on the empowerment, the author shows that it is a confusing concept with contrasting expectations and conflicting methodologies or only a wishful rhetorical jargon. Furthermore, he argues that the empowerment is not just a value-free intervention skill working outside the ruling power but a ruling-discourse or power-mechanism of a liberal society which makes citizens responsible voluntarily. For a theoretical background for these arguments, the 2nd chapter reviews Foucault's theory of power. The 1st part of the 3rd chapter summarizes the historical background of empowerment practice and its methodological characteristics and meanings, the 2nd part reviews the existing critics on the conceptual and practical limitations of empowerment, and the last part reveals, based upon Foucault's theory of power, that the empowerment is a typical mode of ruling power in liberal societies. The author expects that this study may warn the moral and intellectual superiority complex of social work discourse and help stimulate the ethical sensibility and responsibility in social work practice.

한방간호교육의 평가 도구 개발 (Development of a Scale to measure the Effectiveness of Oriental Nursing Education)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to design and evaluate a scale for measuring reliability and validity in the field of oriental nursing education. Method: A questionnaire was administered to 495 university nursing students using a convenience sampling method. The period of time for collecting data was from September 2003 to January 2004. Result: The derived outcome tool consisted of 6 factors and 22 inquires on the basis of a conceptual frame of three domains (knowledge, attitude, and skill), As a result of the item analysis, 22 items were selected and the internal consistency alpha coefficient was .767. The value of Cronbach' Alpha of knowledge(factor 1) was .885, attitude(factor2)was .756, and skill (factor 3) was .610. The three factors accounted for $65.110\%$ of the variance in the total scale. Addressing the explanatory variance of each domain Cognitive domain was $22.477\%$, affective domain was $20.543\%$, and psychomotor domain was $17.090\%$. Conclusion: Further studies need to be done to verify educational evaluation and apply our outcomes to oriental nursing education.

An Analysis of the Jeju Beach Science Camp Program Based on the HASA Curriculum and a Survey of Preference

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the Jeju beach science camp program and to survey the participating students'' preference levels for the activities included therein. The camp programs were analyzed on the basis of the standards set for the HASA curriculum. The program's "manipulatory skill" area included many manipulatory and creative activities while the "inquiry area" included many basic and integrated inquiry activities. It was also indicated that the "knowledge area" included many activities appropriate for understanding concepts and principles while the "attitude area" included many activities appropriate for stimulating curiosity and enjoyment. Thus, it could be seen that the areas stipulated for the HASA curriculum were considerably consistent with the purpose of the science camp. The participating students showed preference for manipulatory and creative activities included in the program. They also preferred basic, inquiry level activities included under the area of "inquiry skills." It was identified that the students most preferred the conceptual stage included under the area of "knowledge" where they were required to grasp the common characteristics of events, things, and phenomena, as also the enjoyment stage included under the "attitude" area, where they were required to participate in pleasant science activities. These findings indicate that science camp programs should be composed of manipulatory and creative activities as well as activities that aim at basic research and the understanding of concepts.
