An intelligent miniature humanoid robot system is designed and implemented as a platform for researching walking algorithm. The robot system consists of a mechanical robot body, a control system, a sensor system, and a human interface system. The robot has 6 dofs per leg, 3 dofs per arm, and 2 dofs for a neck, so it has total of 20 dofs to have dexterous motion capability. For the control system, a supervisory controller runs on a remote host computer to plan high level robot actions based on the vision sensor data, a main controller implemented with a DSP chip generates walking trajectories for the robot to perform the commanded action, and an auxiliary controller implemented with an FPGA chip controls 20 actuators. The robot has three types of sensors. A two-axis acceleration sensor and eight force sensing resistors for acquiring information on walking status of the robot, and a color CCD camera for acquiring information on the surroundings. As an example of an intelligent robot action, some experiments on playing soccer are performed.

in order to improve the quality of the sheared surface in cutting of sandwich sheet metals the cut-off operation is mainly investigated which is the typical shearing process in sheet metal forming technology. For experiments the cut-off die is made which can be easily adjusted by die design variables such as blankholding force, pad force, and clearance. The sheet metals chose as specimen are clad304(STS304-Al1050-STS304) and anti-vibration sheet metal. The shearing process is visualized by the computer vision system installed in front of the cut-off die and the sheared surface before and after cut-off operation is measured and quantitatively compared with the help of the optical microscope. From test results the good sheared surface was shown when the clearance gets small with large blankholding force.

Augmented reality (AR) is currently being applied actively to commercial products, and various types of intelligent AR systems combining both the Global Positioning System and computer-vision technologies are being developed and commercialized. This paper suggests an in-vehicle head-up display (HUD) system that is combined with AR technology. The proposed system recognizes driving-safety information and offers it to the driver. Unlike existing HUD systems, the system displays information registered to the driver's view and is developed for the robust recognition of obstacles under bad weather conditions. The system is composed of four modules: a ground obstacle detection module, an object decision module, an object recognition module, and a display module. The recognition ratio of the driving-safety information obtained by the proposed AR-HUD system is about 73%, and the system has a recognition speed of about 15 fps for both vehicles and pedestrians.

Robovie-R2 [1], developed by ATR, is a 110cm high, 60kg weight, two wheel drive, human like robot. It has two arms with dynamic fingers. It also has a position sensitive detector sensor and two cameras as eyes on his head for recognizing his surrounding environment. Recent years, we have carried out a project to integrate new functions into Robovie-R2 so as to make it possible to be used in a dining room in healthcare center for helping serving meal for elderly. As a new function, we have developed software system for adaptive movement control of Robovie-R2 that is primary important since a robot that cannot autonomously control its movement would be a dangerous object to the people in dining room. We used the cameras on Robovie-R2's head to catch environment images, applied our original algorithm for recognizing obstacles such as furniture or people, so as to control Roboie-R2's movement. In this paper, we will focus our algorithm and its results.

Visual object tracking is a challenging area of study in the field of computer vision due to many difficult problems, including a fast variation of target shape, occlusion, and arbitrary ground truth object designation. In this paper, we focus on the reinforced feature of the dynamic search area to get better performance than conventional discriminative model prediction trackers on the condition when the accuracy deteriorates since low feature discrimination. We propose a reinforced input feature method shown like the spotlight effect on the dynamic search area of the target tracking. This method can be used to improve performances for deep learning based discriminative model prediction tracker, also various types of trackers which are used to infer the center of the target based on the visual object tracking. The proposed method shows the improved tracking performance than the baseline trackers, achieving a relative gain of 38% quantitative improvement from 0.433 to 0.601 F-score at the visual object tracking evaluation.

This research relates to method of configuring a shooting system that convergence of Hologram display technology and augmented reality technology. And this system can be feel like real and high spatial efficiency. The target generated by hologram has a characteristic that the position of the target in space according to the location of the user. To solve this problem, This system has a coordinate mapping algorithm and computer vision technology for analysis of precise users's aiming point.
Using optical music recognition technology based on deep learning, we propose to apply the results derived to VR games. To detect the music objects in the music sheet, the deep learning model used YOLO v5, and Hough transform was employed to detect undetected objects, modifying the size of the staff. It analyzes and uses BPM, maximum number of combos, and musical notes in VR games using output result files, and prevents the backlog of notes through Object Pooling technology for resource management. In this paper, VR games can be produced with music elements derived from optical music recognition technology to expand the utilization of optical music recognition along with providing VR contents.
The current study aimed to verify the image segmentation ability of rays in tangential thin sections of conifers using artificial intelligence technology. The applied model was Mask region-based convolutional neural network (Mask R-CNN) and softwoods (viz. Picea jezoensis, Larix gmelinii, Abies nephrolepis, Abies koreana, Ginkgo biloba, Taxus cuspidata, Cryptomeria japonica, Cedrus deodara, Pinus koraiensis) were selected for the study. To take digital pictures, thin sections of thickness 10-15 ㎛ were cut using a microtome, and then stained using a 1:1 mixture of 0.5% astra blue and 1% safranin. In the digital images, rays were selected as detection objects, and Computer Vision Annotation Tool was used to annotate the rays in the training images taken from the tangential sections of the woods. The performance of the Mask R-CNN applied to select rays was as high as 0.837 mean average precision and saving the time more than half of that required for Ground Truth. During the image analysis process, however, division of the rays into two or more rays occurred. This caused some errors in the measurement of the ray height. To improve the image processing algorithms, further work on combining the fragments of a ray into one ray segment, and increasing the precision of the boundary between rays and the neighboring tissues is required.
With the recent development of computer vision technology, image processing-based mechanical devices are being developed to realize autonomous driving. The camera-taken images of image processing-based machines are invisible due to scattering and absorption of light in foggy conditions. This lowers the object recognition rate and causes malfunction. The safety of the technology is very important because the malfunction of autonomous driving leads to human casualties. In order to increase the stability of the technology, it is necessary to apply an efficient haze removal algorithm to the camera. In the conventional haze removal method, since the haze removal operation is performed regardless of the haze concentration of the input image, excessive haze is removed and the quality of the resulting image is deteriorated. In this paper, we propose an automatic haze removal method that removes haze according to the haze density of the input image by applying Ngo's Haziness Degree Evaluator (HDE) to Kim's haze removal algorithm using Hazy Particle Map. The proposed haze removal method removes the haze according to the haze concentration of the input image, thereby preventing the quality degradation of the input image that does not require haze removal and solving the problem of excessive haze removal. The superiority of the proposed haze removal method is verified through qualitative and quantitative evaluation.
Agriculture plays an industrial and economic role, as well as an environmental and ecological conservation role, group harmony and the inheritance of traditional culture. However, no matter how advanced the industry is, the basic food necessary for human life can only be produced through the photosynthesis of plants with natural resources such as the sun, water, and air. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) predicts that the world's population will increase by another 2 billion people by 2050, and it faces a myriad of complex and diverse factors to consider, including climate change, food security concerns, and global ecosystems and political factors. In particular, in order to solve problems such as increasing productivity and production of agricultural products, improving quality, and saving energy, it is difficult to solve them with traditional farming methods. Recently, with the wind of the 4th industrial revolution, ICT convergence technology and artificial intelligence have been rapidly developing in many fields, but it is also true that the application of new technologies is somewhat delayed due to the unique characteristics of agriculture. However, in recent years, as ICT and artificial intelligence utilization technologies have been developed and applied by many researchers, a revolution is also taking place in agriculture. This paper summarizes the current state of research so far in four categories of agriculture, namely crop cultivation environment management, soil management, pest management, and irrigation management, and smart farm research data that has recently been actively developed around the world.
