Also, it is doubtful if the education considers teaching period and the levels of students or not. In this paper, we survey on the state of ICT education, the relationship between ICT education and Computer Education, and the connectivity in Computer Education between primary and secondary schools. In order to do these, we analyze the result of our questionnaire and we propose an improved method for the connectivity in Computer Education. The results are (i) primary school teachers don't consider the connectivity of Computer Education and (ii) the teachers who have higher satisfaction levels of ICT education think ICT education and Computer Education between two schools are correlated and connected. As a result, new policies to re-educate teachers are required.

Accessability to information devices in school, computer use in schools, and the students aptitudes on using the devices were excelled by Turkey. General attitudes about computers was similar, but Turkey proved to be better at utilizing computers in schools settings. With these findings, Korea must redefine current ICT education policies and establish policies for activating the ICT education nationwide.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a short-term ICT training course that helps teachers from non-computing disciplines in developing countries acquire flipped-learning content creation skills. A field application is performed by applying the developed ICT training course to secondary school teachers of non-ICT subject specialisms in Laos. In the field study, participating teachers' teaching efficacy on ICT and satisfaction toward the training course are measured. The result of t-test on ICT teaching efficacy showed statistically significant increases in teachers' self-efficacy related to ICT use, both personal efficacy and outcome expectancy. The satisfaction survey performed after training showed that trainees were highly satisfied with the training course. The results of this field study could be used to propose a short-term teacher education model that could be applicable to teachers in other developing countries.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the differences between Korea and Japan in terms of the effects of student- and school-level ICT-related factors on computer-based problem solving ability in PISA 2012 achievement results. PISA 2012's computer-based problem solving assessment included 5,033 students from 156 schools in Korea and 6,351 students from 191 schools in Japan. A 2-level hierarchical linear model (HLM) was employed to analyze data. Both of Korean and Japanese students, students with the earlier use of computer and the Internet, higher socioeconomic background and higher openness to problem reported better problem solving scores than their counterparts. Also, accessibility to ICT equipment provided by home or school was found to be a negative effect on problem solving in both countries. Differences in the effects of purposes and attitudes for ICT use, teacher-student relationship, and creative out-of-school activities on problem solving ability were found between two countries.
