  • Atmospheric transport pathway of an air mass is an important constraint controlling the chemical properties of the air mass observed at a designated location. Such information could be utilized for understanding observed temporal variabilities in atmospheric concentrations of long-lived chemical compounds, of which sinks and/or sources are related particularly with natural and/or anthropogenic processes in the surface, and as well as for performing inversions to constrain the fluxes of such compounds. The Lagrangian particle dispersion model FLEXPART provides a useful tool for estimating detailed particle dispersion during atmospheric transport, a significant improvement over traditional "single-line" trajectory models that have been widely used. However, those without a modeling background seeking to create simple back-trajectory maps may find it challenging to optimize FLEXPART for their needs. In this study, we explain how to set up, operate, and optimize FLEXPART for back-trajectory analysis, and also provide automatization programs based on the open-source R language. Discussions include setting up an "AVAILABLE" file (directory of input meteorological fields stored on the computer), creating C-shell scripts for initiating FLEXPART runs and storing the output in directories designated by date, as wells as processing the FLEXPART output to create figures for a back-trajectory "footprint" (potential emission sensitivity within the boundary layer). Step by step instructions are explained for an example case of calculating back trajectories derived for Anmyeon-do, Korea for January 2011. One application is also demonstrated in interpreting observed variabilities in atmospheric $CO_2$ concentration at Anmyeon-do during this period. Back-trajectory modeling information introduced in this study should facilitate the creation and automation of most common back-trajectory calculation needs in atmospheric research.

  • Sertraline HCl, (1S-cis)-4-(3, 4-dichloro-phenyl)-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydro-N-methyl-l-naphthalenamine hydrochloride, is a potent and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor which is used in the treatment of depression and obsessivecompulsive disorders. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two sertraline HCl tablets, Traline tablet (Myungin Pharm. Co. Ltd.) and Zoloft$^{(R)}$ tablet (Pfizer Inc.), according to the guidelines of the Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). The in vitro release of sertraline from the two sertraline HCl formulations was tested using KP VIII Apparatus II method with various dissolution media. Twenty four healthy Korean male volunteers, $23.50{\pm}1.74$ years in age and $64.09{\pm}7.10\;kg$ in body weight, were divided into two groups and a randomized $2{\times}2$ crossover study was employed. After a single tablet containing 50 mg as sertraline HCl was orally administered, blood samples were taken at predetermined time intervals and the concentrations of sertraline in serum were determined using an online columnswitching HPLC method with UV/Vis detection. The dissolution profiles of two formulations were similar in all tested dissolution media. The pharmacokinetic parameters such as $AUC_t$, $C_{max}$ and $T_{max}$ were calculated, and computer programs (Equiv Test and K-BE Test) were utilized for the statistical analysis of the parameters using logarithmically transformed $AUC_t$, $C_{max}$ and un-transformed $T_{max}$. The results showed that the differences between two formulations based on the reference drug, Zoloft$^{(R)}$ tablet, were 0.04, 3.26 and -1.29% for $AUC_t$, $C_{max}$, and $T_{max}$, respectively. There were no sequence effects between two formulations in these parameters. The 90% confidence intervals using logarithmically transformed data were within the acceptance range of log0.8 to log1.25. Thus, the criteria of the KFDA bioequivalence guideline were satisfied, indicating Traline tablet was bioequivalent to Zoloft$^{(R)}$ tablet.

  • Mothers of handicapped children experience many problems and difficulties related to the child's prolonged dependency and demands for special care. Social support can be identified as stress-relieving factor, social support is considered to decrease the amount of negativeness in an individual or family. This study attempted to identify the level of burden and social support in mothers of children who are handicapped, and to determine whether social support is an effective strategy for burden relief in these mothers. The method used in the study was a correlational descriptive survey using a questionnaire. The subjects for the study were 42 mothers who have the handicapped children, between two to twelve years of age, being treated at S General Welfare House for Handicapped and S Rehabilitation Center in Seoul. The data were collected during 1 month from March 20 to April 20, 1996. The instruments used for this study was a structured questionnaire which was the Burden scale developed by Suh Mihae and Oh Kasil(1993) and the PRQ(Personal Resource Questionnaire) scale developed by Brandt & Weinert(1981). The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS computer program, yielding frequencies, percentiles, means, standard deviations, $x^{2}$-test, Pearson's correlation coefficienct, t-test and ANOVA. The results of this study are as follows ; 1)The range of age in the subjects was $29{\sim}44$ years, the range age in the handicapped children was $2{\sim}12$ years. 2) The mean score of burden, for the mothers of the handicapped children was 2.75(standard deviation was 0.47) of a possible total of 5. 3) The mean score of social support, for the mothers of the handicapped children was 4.99 (standard deviation was 0.59) of a possible total of 7. 4) There was an negative correlations hip between burden level and the social support, but there was no statistically significant correlationship between burden level and the social support(r = -.2252, p = .076) 5) In the general characteristics influencing on the burden level was significantly related with the sex(t = - 2.87, p = .007) and the degree of child's handicap level(F = 11.8680, p = .000l). In the general characteristics influencing on the social support was significantly related with the family(husband) support(F = 3.5199, p = .0240). There were significant differences in the mother's levels of burden depending upon the severity of child's handicap. In other words, the degree of mother's burden was directly proportionate to the degree of child's handicap level. There were significant differences in the mother's levels of social support depending upon the family(husband) support. In conclusion, on the basis of the results of this study, there was no statistically significant correlationship between burden level and the social support. • BPEL is a standard workflow language, which interacts with Web Services and is used in various applications. But it is difficult to use BPEL for specific applications which require additional functions. In this paper, we present a system which can add new functions to BPEL based on an aspect-oriented programming (AOP) technique. In order to add new functions to BPEL, we define a JWX document format that can describe new functions to apply to BPEL. JWX is XML-oriented document that can code the corresponding Java program in order to dynamically add new functions to BPEL documents. It is possible for BPEL workflow to add new functions without modifying the existing programs using the AOP technique, which guarantees low degree of coupling between key and additional requirements. Additionally this systems weaves based on new functions of Java program and JWX document by expanding BPEL engine called B2J based on AOP and execute them. Therefore it is possible to develop a new BPEL engine with additional functions easily and with low cost. The new system can execute additional conditions that the current BPEL engine doesn’t provide. The new system using functions of BPEL supplied by B2J. The new system can be used to add a new rule engine, which isn't currently provided.

  • House management is very important in water resource protection in order to provide sustainable drinking water for about four millions population in northern Taiwan. House management can be a simple job that can be done without any ingredient of remote sensing or geographic information systems. Remote sensing and GIS integration for house management can provide more efficient management prescription when land use enforcement, soil and water conservation, sewage management, garbage collection, and reforestation have to be managed simultaneously. The objective of this paper was to integrate remote sensing and GIS to manage houses in a water resource protection district. More than four thousand houses have been surveyed and created as a house data base. Site map of every single house and very detail information consisting of address, ownership, date of creation, building materials, acreages floor by floor, parcel information, and types of house condition. Some houses have their photos in different directions. One house has its own card consists these information and these attributes were created into a house data base. Site maps of all houses were created with the same coordinates system as parcel maps, topographic maps, sewage maps, and city planning maps. Visual Basic.NET, Visual C#.NET have been implemented to develop computer programs for house information inquiry and maps overlay among house maps and other GIS map layers. Remote sensing techniques have been implemented to generate the background information of a single house in the past 15 years. Digital orthophoto maps at a scale of 1:5000 overlay with house site maps are very useful in determination of a house was there or not for a given year. Satellite images if their resolutions good enough are also very useful in this type of daily government operations. The developed house management systems can work with commercial GIS software such as ArcView and ArcPad. Remote sensing provided image information of a single house whether it was there or not in a given year. GIS provided overlay and inquiry functions to automatically extract attributes of a given house by ownership, address, and so on when certain house management prescriptions have to be made by government agency. File format is the key component that makes remote sensing and GIS integration smoothly. The developed house management systems are user friendly and can be modified to meet needs encountered in a single task of a government technician.

  • Private detectives and investigators offer many services, including executive, corporate, and celebrity protection; pre-employment verification; and individual background profiles. They also investigate computer crimes, personal injury cases, insurance claims and fraud, child custody and protection cases, missing persons cases, and premarital screening. This paper focuses on a private detective or investigator system in most developed U.S.A, but it is not easy to describe that system. Licensing requirements vary in U.S.A. Some States have few requirements, and many other States have stringent regulations. A growing number of States are enacting mandatory training programs for private detectives and investigators. Employment and need of private detectives and investigators is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations. Thus, it is reasonable that korean government should permit private investigation service find the way to minimize the side effects of private investigation service instead of banning the service totally.

  • Recently, the use of the high strength materials and development of construction techniques have resulted in more flexible and longer spanning in the stadium systems. So the natural frequency of stadium structures are became low. Stadium stand could be led to significant dynamic response as like resonance due to spectator rhythmical activities. The accurate analysis of dynamic behavior of stadium systems and the precise investigation of the dynamic loads on stadium structures are demanded for effective design. It is desirable to apply measured dynamic loads created by spectator activities because these dynamic loads are not easy to express numerical formula. As the floor mesh of stadium stand is refined, the number of divided elements increases in numerical analysis. the rise of the number of elements makes the numbers of nodal points increased and numerous computer memory required. So it is difficult to analysis refine full model of stadium structures by using the commercial programs. In this study, the various dynamic loads induced by spectator movements are measured and analyzed. And a new modeling method that reduce the nodal points are introduced. Vibration analysis of stadium stands is executed to inspect accuracy and efficiency of proposed method in this paper.

  • There were many ground excavation projects from past to present to make effective use of the limited land. And it is very important to predict the ground behavior depending on construction stage for ground excavation. Excavation of the ground involves changes in the stress and displacement of the ground around the excavated surface. Thus it affects the stability of the adjacent structure as well as the excavated surface. Therefore, it is very important to predict the ground behavior and stability of adjacent structure. And nowadays, numerical analysis methods are most often used to predict the effects of ground excavation. Recent, improvements of numerical analysis programs, along with improved computer performance, have helped solve complicated ground problems. However, except some specialized numerical analysis, most numerical analysis often predicts larger excavation floor displacement than field data due to adopt the Mohr-Coulomb analysis model. As a result, it raise the problem that increasing the amount of support on ground and structure. In this study, ground behavior analysis depending on analysis model (Mohr-Coulomb, Duncan-Chang, Modified Mohr-Coulomb and Hardening Soil model) has been carried out through the numerical analysis. When numerical analysis is carried out, this study is expected to be used as a basic data for adopting a suitable analysis model in various ground excavation project.

  • The instruction level parallelism, which has been used to improve the performance of processors, expose its limit. The change of a control flow by a branch miss prediction is one of the obstacles that restrict the instruction level parallelism. The single chip multiprocessors have been developed to utilize the thread level parallelism. However, we could not use the maximum performance of the single chip multiprocessor in case of executing the coded programs without considering the multi-thread. In order to overcome the two performance degradation factors, in this paper, we suggest the concurrent branch execution method that applies to the multi-path execution method at a single chip multiprocessor. We executes all two flows of the conditional branch using the idle core processor. Through this, we can improve the processor's efficiency with blocking the control flow termination by the branch instruction and reducing the idle time. We analyze the effects of concurrent branch execution proposed in this paper through the simulation. As a result of that, concurrent branch execution reduces about 20% of idle time and improves the maximum 10% of the branch prediction accuracy. We show that our scheme improves the overall performance of maximum 39% compared to the normal single chip multiprocessor and maximum 27% compared to the superscalar processor.
