대형트럭 다판 스프링과 테이퍼 판스프링의 진동특성 비교 (Comparison of Vibration Characteristics of a Multi-leaf Spring and a Tapered Leaf Spring of a Heavy Truck)

  • This paper develops the flexible computational model of a heavy truck by interfacing the frame modeled as a flexible body to the heavy truck's computational model composed of rigid bodies. The frame is modeled by the finite element method. Three torsional modes and three bending modes of the frame are considered for the interface of the heavy truck's computational model. The actual vehicle test is conducted off road with a velocity of 20km/h. The vertical accelerations at the cab and front axle are measured in the test. For the verification of the developed computational model, the measured vertical acceleration profiles are compared with the simulation results of the heavy truck's flexible computational model. E grade irregular road profile of ISO is used as an excitation input in the simulation. The verified flexible computational model is used to compare the vibration characteristics of a front suspension system having a multi-leaf spring and that having a tapered leaf spring. The comparison results show that the front suspension having a tapered leaf spring has a higher vertical acceleration at the front axle but a lower vertical acceleration at the cab than the suspension system having a multi-leaf spring.

흡착공정 개발을 위한 다중규모 모사: 활성탄에서의 n-Hexane 흡착에 관한 사례연구 (Multiscale Simulation for Adsorption Process Development: A Case Study of n-Hexane Adsorption on Activated Carbon)

  • 본 연구는 활성탄을 사용한 n-hexane의 흡착공정에 있어서 분자수준에서 시작하여 공정단계에 이르는 다중규모 모사에 관하여 기술한다. 분자모사에서는 GCMC(Grand Canonical Monte Carlo) 방법을 이용하여 활성탄에서 n-hexane의 등온흡착식을 예측하고, 2차원 전산유체역학(CFD; Computational fluid dynamics) 모사를 통하여 흡착컬럼 내 유체흐름에 대한 수력학적 특성을 파악한다. 공정모사단계에서는 분자모사 및 유체역학 모사에서 각각 얻은 등온흡착식과 축방향 확산계수값을 이용하여 n-hexane의 용출곡선을 얻는다. 이러한 3단계 다중규모 모사기법을 활용하여 얻은 공정모사 결과는 펄스응답의 실험결과와 비교해볼 때, 온도와 유량변화에 따른 1차 모멘트(평균 체류시간)에 관하여 약 20% 미만의 오차범위에서 일치함을 확인할 수 있다. 이 결과로부터 분자수준에서 시작하는 다중규모 모사는 필요한 실험횟수를 줄이면서 흡착공정 개발을 가속화할 수 있는 가능성을 보여준다.

근접방사선치료 시 몬테카를로 전산모사를 이용한 인체전산팬텀의 우측 폐와 주변 장기 선량평가 (Evaluation of Absorbed Dose for the Right Lung and Surrounding Organs of the Computational Human Phantom in Brachytherapy by Monte Carlo Simulation)

  • This study is to evaluate absorbed dose from right lung for brachytherapy and to estimate the effects of tissue heterogeneities on dose distribution for Iridium-192 source using Monte Carlo simulation. The study employed Geant4 code as Monte Carlo simulation to calculate the dosimetry parameters. The dose distribution of Iridium-192 source in solid water equivalent phantom including aluminium plate or steel plate inserted was calculated and compared with the measured dose by the ion chamber at various distances. And the simulation was used to evaluate the dose of gamma radiation absorbed in the lung organ and other organs around it. The dose distribution embedded in right lung was calculated due to the presence of heart, thymus, spine, stomach as well as left lung. The geometry of the human body was made up of adult male MIRD type of the computational human phantom. The dosimetric characteristics obtained for aluminium plate inserted were in good agreement with experimental results within 4%. The simulation results of steel plate inserted agreed well with a maximum difference 2.75%. Target organ considered to receive a dose of 100%, the surrounding organs were left the left lung of 3.93%, heart of 10.04%, thymus of 11.19%, spine of 12.64% and stomach of 0.95%. When the statistical error is performed for the computational human phantom, the statistical error of value is under 1%.

  • 하이브리드 시뮬레이션 실험방법은 단일실험모드하의 물리적 또는 수치해석적 시뮬레이션에 의하여 지진발생시 구조물을 평가하는 다양한 기술 중에 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 지진하중하의 교량구조 시스템의 해석과 실험을 위해서 계산과 실험 시뮬레이션을 통합한 소프트웨어체제를 개발하였다. 개발한 하이브리드시뮬레이션 소프트웨어체제를 이용하여 대규모 네트워크로 분산된 실험 또는 전산장비에 참여하고 있는 교량구조시스템에 대한 지진응답을 평가할 수 있었다. 본 논문에서는 적용 예를 통하여 지반 구조 상호작용을 고려한 교량의 시뮬레이션 해석방법을 제시하였다.

화학반응을 수반하는 극초음속 희박류 유동의 직접모사법 개발 (A DSMC Technique for the Analysis of Chemical Reactions in Hypersonic Rarefied Flows)

  • A Direct simulation Monte-Carlo (DSMC) code is developed, which employs the Monte-Carlo statistical sampling technique to investigate hypersonic rarefied gas flows accompanying chemical reactions. The DSMC method is a numerical simulation technique for analyzing the Boltzmann equation by modeling a real gas flow using a representative set of molecules. Due to the limitations in computational requirements. the present method is applied to a flow around a simple two-dimensional object in exit velocity of 7.6 km/sec at an altitude of 90 km. For the calculation of chemical reactions an air model with five species (O₂, N₂, O, N, NO) and 19 chemical reactions is employed. The simulated result showed various rarefaction effects in the hypersonic flow with chemical reactions.

  • Over the past 30 years, numerical methods and simulation tools for fluid dynamic problems have advanced as a new discipline, namely, computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Although a wide spectrum of flow regimes are encountered in many areas of science and engineering, simulation of compressible flow has been the major driver for developing computational algorithms and tools. This Is probably due to a large demand for predicting the aerodynamic performance characteristics of flight vehicles, such as commercial, military, and space vehicles. As flow analysis is required to be more accurate and computationally efficient for both commercial and mission-oriented applications (such as those encountered in meteorology, aerospace vehicle development, general fluid engineering and biofluid analysis) CFD tools for engineering become increasingly important for predicting safety, performance and cost. This paper presents the author's perspective on the maturity of CFD, especially from an aerospace engineering point of view.

  • 우리나라의 국방 분야에서 모델링 및 시뮬레이션의 수준은 외국에 비해 상당히 저조하며, 무기체계의 연구 개발과 획득에서 신뢰성 부분을 해결하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 전산유체역학을 이용하여 M&S를 공학적인 차원에서 모델링과 시뮬레이션의 적용 가능성을 제시하고, 향후 효과적인 무기체계의 연구개발과 획득에 적극 활용하고자 한다.

자유표면을 고려한 교반기 내부의 비정상 유동해석 (TRANSIENT FLOW SIMULATION OF A MIXER WITH FREE SURFACE)

  • In the present study, a numerical analysis of transient mixer flow is performed considering free surface formation. The flow patterns and free surface shape in a mixers formed by flat paddle and pitched paddle impellers are predicted. In a flat paddle mixer, two flow circulation regions are formed due to strong radial flow, whereas one large circulation is formed in a pitched paddle mixer due to axial downward flow. These differences affect the free surface evolution and shape. It is seen from the results that a flat paddle mixer gives deeper free surface at center region than a pitched paddle mixer. The free surface of 8-blades-flat-paddle mixer is also simulated to compare with the available experimental and simulation results. The present computational results agree reasonably well with the experimental data.

  • Cavitating flow simulation is of practical importance for many engineering systems, such as marine propellers, pump impellers, nozzles, injectors, torpedoes, etc. The present work has focused on the simulation of cavitating flow past cylinders with strong side flows. The governing equation is the Navier-Stokes equation based on the homogeneous mixture model. The momentum and energy equation is in the mixture phase while the continuity equation is solved liquid and vapor phase, separately. An implicit dual time and preconditioning method are employed for computational analysis. For the code validation, the results from the present solver have been compared with experiments and other numerical results. A fairly good agreement with the experimental data and other numerical results have been obtained. After the code validation, the strong side flow was applied to include the wake flow effects of the submarine or ocean tide.

온톨로지 기반 디지털 휴먼모델의 작업 적응성 제고 방안 연구 (Research on Ontology-based Task Adaptability Improvement for Digital Human Model)

  • In digital virtual manufacturing simulation, Digital Human widely used to optimal workplace design, enhancing worker safety in the workplace, and improving product quality. However, the case of ergonomics simulation solutions to support digital human modeling, Optimal DHM (Digital Human Model) data needed to develop and perform DHM will collect information related to the production process. So simulation developer has burden of collecting information. In this study, to overcome the limitations of existing solutions, we proposed the ADAGIO(Automated Digital humAn model development for General assembly usIng Ontology) framework. The ADAGIO framework was developed for DHM ontology to support optimal deployment of digital virtual environment and in order to ensure consistency of simulation components that are required for simulation modeling was made of a library.
