연료전지 자동차용 전자 제어식 $CO_2$ 냉방 시스템의 성능 특성에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Performance Characteristics of an Electronically Controlled $CO_2$ Air Conditioning System for Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles)

  • The main objective of this paper is to investigate the performance characteristics of a $CO_2$ air conditioning system for fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV). The present air conditioning system for FCEV uses the electrically driven compressor and electrically controlled expansion valve for $CO_2$ as a working fluid. The experimental work has been done with various operating conditions, which are quite matching the actual vehicle's driving conditions such as different compressor speed and high pressure to identify the characteristics of the system. Experimental results show that the cooling capacity and coefficient of performance (COP) were up to 6.3kW and 2.5, respectively. This paper also deals with the development of optimum high pressure control algorithm for the transcritical $CO_2$ cycle to achieve the maximum COP.

  • The performance characteristics of water-chilling heat pump using $CO_2$ with respect to variation of inlet temperature and mass flow rate of secondary fluid was investigated experimentally. An experimental apparatus is consisted of a compressor, a gas cooler, an expansion valve, an evaporator and a liquid receiver. All heat exchangers used in the test rig are counter-flow-type heat exchangers with concentric dual tubes, which ate made of copper. The gas cooler and the evaporator consist of 6 and 4 straight sections respectively arranged in parallel, each has 2.4 m length. The experimental results were summarized as the followings : As inlet temperature of secondary fluid in the gas cooler increases from $10^{\circ}C$ to $40^{\circ}C$, the compressor work, heating capacity and heating COP were varied to 37.8%, -13%, -35.9%, respectively. The heating capacity, compressor work, heating COP were turned into 23.3%, 6.42%, 13.1%, respectively when ass flow rate of secondary fluid in the evaporator increases from 70 g/s to 150 g/s. The above tendency is similar with performance variation with respect to temperature variation of secondary fluid in the conventional vapor compression cycle.

  • 자동차용 터보차저 원심압축기의 오버헝 볼류트의 두 가지 타입에 대한 유동장 특성이 수치적으로 연구되었다. 볼류트의 성능을 높이기 위해서는 높은 압력회복계수와 낮은 손실계수를 갖도록 함이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 디퓨저 입구각을 $24^{\circ}$, 질량유량을 0.055 kg/s 로 유지하고 두 가지 타입의 오버헝 볼류트에 대한 유동장 특성을 조사하였다. 하나는 1 개의 원호로 이루어진 볼류트 단면(타입 1)이며, 다른 하나는 3 개의 원호로 이루어진 볼류트 단면(타입 2)이다. 타입 2 볼류트가 타입 1 볼류트 보다 원주방향 전체를 통틀어 높은 압력회복계수와 낮은 손실계수를 보여주었다.

  • A simulation procedure for a full transient analysis of the start-up of heavy-duty gas turbines for power generation is constructed. Compressor stages are grouped into three categories (front, mid, rear) and three different stage characteristic curves are applied to consider the different low-speed operating characteristics. Start-up behavior of a typical single-shaft gas turbine for power generation is simulated. The predicted transient behavior shows a good agreement with the field data. Special attention is paid to the effects of the modulation of VIGV on start-up characteristics, which play a key role in the stable operation of gas turbines.

  • 터보압축기의 서지는 압축기의 불안정 운전영역으로 주로 소음과 맥동을 유발하며 수회 지속될시 압축기 시스템 전반에 걸쳐 막대한 피해를 입힌다. 압축기의 안전한 운전을 위해서는 서지현상에 대한 특성파악과 제어전략 수립이 중요하다. 서지현상의 제어는 주로 압축가스의 통과유동량 증대, 필요한 헤드 저감, 압축기 회전수 감속, 가스의 바이패스를 통하여 이루어진다. 본 연구에서는 차량용 터보차저에 서지를 유발했을 때 각 운전 구간별 발생되는 압력변동 특성을 연구하고자 한다. 서지 특성 확인을 위한 파라미터는 압축기 입구 유량과 출구 유량, 관경, 회전수 등으로 선정하였다. 입구단과 출구단 유량을 조절하여 서지 압력 변동을 조사한 결과, 출구단 보다는 입구단 유량의 급격한 변화가 서지와 압축기 내구에 더 영향이 크다는 것을 확인하였다.

  • To protect the ozone layer depeletion the CFC (chlorofluorocarbon). HCFC(hydrochlorofluorocarbon) refrigerants will be replaced with HFCs (hydro-fluorocarbon) as an alternative refrigerant. In recent years a good deal of effort has been made to develop new compressors which are compatible to the new referigent. This paper focused on developing accelerated screening test for predicting tribological characteristics of the rotary compressor in atmosphere of R407C as an alternative refrigerant with polyolester lubricant. Falex wear test machine with high pressure chamber has been used to simulate friction and wear behavior of the common contact geometries found in rotary compressors.

  • In this study, nonlinear stiffness characteristics of a discharge valve in a small hermetic compressor was considered. It was approximated, with piecewise-linearity, and cubic or quintic nonlinearity by the static load-displacement experimental results. Based on the fluid-structure interaction effects and mass flow rate, the derived 1-DOF equation of motion for the valve model was analyzed. Finally, the dynamic response of the discharge valve was studied with parameters such as the ratio of the running frequency of the compressor to the linear natural frequency of the valve.

  • The purpose of this paper is that the compressor design engineers reduce a development term with CAE approach. By using CAE, geometries for various type of piping systems can be constructed interactively and the Vibration Characteristics and Stress distribution are analyzed by FEM. Sensitivity and structural modification analysis capability are also used to reduce the total number of prototypes. An example is shown to validate the effectiveness of this system.

  • Compressor is a major noise source of air-conditioner. Especially, its low frequency band noise below 1000㎐ is very important because it will not be attenuated by passing through the cover panel and heat exchanger in air-conditioner. The factors affecting the low frequency band noise are studied by geometric similarity along with several experiments, and the low frequency noise is closely related with the discharge holes of muffler as well as the cavity of lower shell.
