Parameters of failure criteria, compressive strength and elastic modulus are most important for design and stability analysis of rock structure using numerical analysis. In this study, it suggests that the application of input data for numerical analysis by the literature study and the result of the 150 sets of triaxial compressive test. There was much different between parameters of failure criterion suggested by Hoek-Brown and parameters resulted from the analysis using 150 sets of triaxial compressive test. But the converting equations of compressive strength have had an interrelation with RMR. However, the converting of elastic of elastic modulus were different as chosen of equation, and the equation by Nicholson et at was more useful than others.

The purpose of this study is to ascertain the strength properties of water-permeable concrete with redispersible polymer powder, silica fume and polypropylene fibers. The water-permeable concrete using rediapersibel polymer powder with a water-cement ratio of 25%, polymer-cement ratios of 0 to 10%, silica fume contents of 0 to 10% and fiber contents of 0 to 1.5% are prepared, and tested for flexural strength, compressive strength and water permeability. From the test results, improvements in the strength properties of the water-permeable concrete due to the addition of the redispersible polymer powder, silica fume and fibers are discussed. It is concluded from the test results that the superior flexural and compressive strengths of water-permeable concretes are obtained at a propylene fiber content of 1.0% with a void filling ratio of 50%. And, the water-permeable concrete having a flexural strength of 15.6~28.4kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$, a compressive strength of 63.5~120.6kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$, and a coefficient of permeability of 1.14~1.70cm/s at a void filling ratio of 30% can be prepared. Also water-permeable concrete having a flexural strength of 35.6~57.9kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$, a compressive strength of 164.0~290.0kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$, and a coefficient of permeability of 0.19~1.04cm/s at a void filling ratio of 50% can be prepared in the consideration of the mix proprotioning factors.
The physical and mechanical properties of the sedimentary rocks deposited in Taegu and Kyongbuk region have been measured in the laboratory and at the field. Four kinds of rocks such as the shale, the mudstone, the siltstone and the sandstone were the object of this study. In sedimentary rock joint, bedding made it impossible to extract cores for uniaxial compressive test. Some correlations between the uniaxial compressive strength and the other characteristic values such as Point load index, Schmidt hammer rebound, Brazilian strength, P-wave velocity and Absorption ratio are made. The chemical and mineral compositions are also investigated by the XRF and XRD analysis. In addition, the weathering grade of rocks are classified by the quantitative indices of Point load index, Schmidt hammer rebound and Absorption ratio.

Corrugated fiberboard is a representative packaging material because of high compressive strength and stiffness in spite of light weight. The flutes of corrugated fiberboard are various depending on the height and the number per unit length of flute. The corrugated fiberboard with microflute like E, F or G with low height less than 1.5 mm has developed. Because it has some advantages including higher stiffness and lower requirement of fiber than carton board, it has a possibility to replace folding box board. Its consumption has been increased with the various applications like graphic packaging. As microflute has the different geometry from other conventional flutes, it can show the different behavior in testing and it may require a new testing method. In this study, we evaluated the edgewise compressive strength of the corrugated fiberboard with microflute according to ISO and other standard test methods. And the effect of specimen shape and platen compression rate was examined. From this study, we found that ISO methods was suitable and reasonable methods for corrugated fiberboard with microflute.

Soil-cement mixtures involve problems in it's durability in grain size distribution and mineral composition of the used soils as well as in cement content, compaction energy, molding water content, and curing. As an attempt to solve the problems associated with durability of weathered granite soil with cement treated was investigated by conducting tests such as unconfined compression test, it's moisture, immers, wet-dry and freeze-thaw curing, mesurement of loss of weight with wet-dry and freeze-thaw by KS F criteria and CBR test with moisture curing on the five soil samples different in weathering and mineral composition. The experimental results are summarized as follows; The unconfined compressive strength was higher in moisture curing rather than in the immers and wet-dry, while it was lowest in freeze-thaw. Decreasing ratio of unconfined compressive strength in soil-cement mixtures were lowest in optimum moisture content or in the dry side rather than optimum moisture content with freeze-thaw. The highly significant ceofficient was obtained between the cement content and loss of weight with freeze-thaw and wet-dry. It was possible to obtain the durability of soil-cement mixtures, as the materials of base for roads, containing above 4 % of cement content, above 3Okg/cm$_2$ of unconfined compressive trength with seven days moisture curing or 12 cycle of freeze-thaw after it, above 100% of relative unconfined compressive strength, 80% of index of resistance, below 14% of loss of weight with 12 cycle of wet-dry and above 1. 80g/cm$_2$ of dry density.

This study aims to evaluate a porous concrete using hwang-toh, blast furnace slag and blast furnace slag (BFS) cement instead of type I cement. The tests that were carried out to analysis the properties of porous hwang-toh BFS cement concrete included compressive strength, continuous void ratio, absorption rate, and pH value, repeated freezing and thawing test were conducted. Test results indicated that the performance in porous hwang-toh concrete are effective on the kaoline based binder materials. The pH value were shown in about 9.5 ~ 8.5. The compressive strength was increased and void ratio was decreased with increasing the kaoline based binder materials, respectively. The void ratio and compressive strength were in the range of about 21 ~ 30 %, 8 ~ 13 MPa, respectively. The increased in void ratio of more than 25 % is showed to reduce the resistance of repeated freezing and thawing. Also, the resistance of repeated freezing of thawing and the compressive strength of porous hwang-toh BFS cement concrete are independent with hwang-toh content and BFS cement amount. But, the void ratio was decreased with increasing the high volume hwang-toh contents (more than 15 %).

This study is a basic experimental research to apply FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymer) box members to slabs and girders among various architectural structures, which receive bending stress. We prepared prefabricated FRP member and connected it to an FRP box member as a large cross section before we conducted an experiment in diverse conditions to analyze characteristics of compressive fracture behavior. In this study, we carried out a compressive fracture behavior test according to fillers on the upper part of the FRP box member, loading methods, and connective types and thereby performed a finite element analysis. The comparison of analysis results with test results revealed that rigidity was found to be slightly low, while stress was concentrated on the fracture point of the sample.

Recently, the use of volcanic-ash as a part of cement content in concrete is very common. But, it has been indicated that the compressive strength of concrete using large amount of volcanic-ash as a part of cement content in early age is low and carbonation velocity is fast. To solve those problems, High Volume Volcanic-Ash Concrete which contained large amount of volcanic-ash as a part of fine aggregate has been proposed. This is an experimential study to compare and analyze the properties of High Volumn Volcanic-Ash Concrete according to the replacement method and ratio of volcanic-ash. For this purpose, the mix proportion of concrete according to the replacement method(PL, C10, C150, A10, A100, A150) And then slump, setting time, bleeding, compressive strength, tensile strength and carbornation test were performed. According to test results, it was found that the compressive strength of the concrete using the volcanic-ash as a part of fine aggregate(A) was higher than that of the concrete using the volcanic-ash as a part of cement content(C). And, the compressive strength of the A concrete increased in early age as well as in long tern age as the volcanic-ash content increased.
Grouts compared to other material sources, could be highly sensitive to cold weather conditions, especially when the compressive strength is the matter of concern. Grout as one the substantial residential building material used in retaining walls, rebar fixation, sidewalks is in need of deeper investigation, especially in extreme weather condition. In this article, compressive strength development of four different commercial grouts at three temperatures and two humidity rates are evaluated. This experiment is aimed to assess the grout strength development over time and overall compressive strength when the material is cast at low temperatures. Results represent that reducing the curing temperature about 15 degrees could result in 20% reduction in ultimate strength; however, decreasing the humidity percentage by 50% could lead to 10% reduction in ultimate strength. The maturity test results represented the effect of various temperatures and humidity rates on maturity of the grouts. Additionally, the freeze-thaw cycle's effect on the grouts is conducted to investigate the durability factor. The results show that the lower temperatures could be significantly influential on the behavior of grouts compared to lower humidity rates. It is indicated that the maturity test could not be valid and precise in harsh temperature conditions.
The gypsiferous soils are significantly sensitive to moisture and the water has a severe destructive effect on them. Therefore, the effect of lime and silica fume addition on their mechanical properties, when subjected to water, is investigated. Gypsiferous soil specimens were mixed with 1, 2 and 3% lime and 1, 3, 5 and 7% silica fume, in terms of the dry weight of soil. The specimens were mixed at optimum moisture content and cured for 24 hours, 7 and 28 days. 86 specimens in the sizes of unconfined compression strength test mold were prepared to perform unconfined compressive strength and durability tests. The results proved that adding even 1% of each of these additives can lead to a 15 times increase in unconfined compressive strength, compared with untreated specimen, and this increases as the curing time is prolonged. Also, after soaking, the compressive strength of the specimens stabilized with 2 and 3% lime plus different percentages of silica fume was considerably higher than before soaking. The durability of the treated specimens increased significantly after soaking. Direct shear tests showed that lime treatment is more efficient than silica fume treatment. Moreover, it is concluded that the initial tangent modulus and the strain at failure increased as the normal stress of the test was increased. Also, the higher lime contents, up to certain limits, increase the shear strength. Therefore, simultaneous use of lime and silica fume is recommended to improve the geotechnical properties of gypsiferous soils.
