Vibration of vertically aligned-monolayered-nonuniform nanorods consist of functionally graded materials with elastic supports has not been investigated yet. To fill this gap, the problem is examined using the elasticity theories of Eringen and Gurtin-Murdoch. The geometrical and mechanical properties of the surface layer and the bulk are allowed to vary arbitrarily across the length. The nonlocal-surface energy-based governing equations are established using differential-type and integro-type formulations, and solved by employing the Galerkin method by exploiting admissible modes approach and element-free Galerkin (EFG). Through various comparison studies, the effectiveness of the EFG in capturing both nonlocal-differential/integro-based frequencies is proved. A constructive parametric study is also conducted, and the roles of nanorods' diameter, length, stiffness of both inter-rod's elastic layer and elastic supports, power-law index of both constituent materials and geometry, nonlocal and surface effects on the dominant frequencies are revealed.

Cotton fabrics treated with hybrid materials were developed and prepared. A halogen-free flame retardant and an aromatic amide were blended and applied to cotton fabrics. Thermal and physical properties of the treated cotton fabrics were investigated. The surface of the pure and coated cotton fabrics was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The elemental composition of the coated surface of the cotton fabric was measured using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and compared with that of pure cotton fabric. After being solved in N,N-dimethylacetamide, m-aramid and triphenylphosphine oxide (TPP) were applied to cotton fabrics through a dip-pad-coagulation process. The treated cotton fabrics with recycled m-aramid/TPP resulted in increased limited oxygen index values and thermal resistance.

Nodes in MANETs are battery powered which makes energy an invaluable resource. In OLSR, MPRs are special nodes that are selected by other nodes to relay their data/control traffic which may lead to high energy consumption of MPR nodes. Therefore, employing energy efficient MPR selection mechanism is imperative to ensure prolonged network lifetime. However, misbehaving MPR nodes tend to preserve their energy by dropping packets of other nodes instead of forwarding them. This leads to huge energy loss and performance degradation of existing energy efficient MPR selection schemes. This paper proposes an energy efficient secure MPR selection (ES-MPR) technique that takes into account both energy and security metrics for MPR selection. It introduces the concept of 'Composite Eligibility Index' (CEI) to examine the eligibility of a node for being selected as an MPR. CEI is used in conjunction with willingness to provide distinct selection parameters for Flooding and Routing MPRs. Simulation studies reveal the efficiency of ES-MPR in selection of energy efficient secure and stable MPRs, in turn, prolonging the network operational lifetime.

The symbol error rate equations of multi-level quadrature PRS(QPRS) system have been derived in the individual and composite environment of Gaussian/impulsive noise, cochannel CW interference, carrier offset, phase jitter and fading. And using the derived error rate equations, the probability of error has been evaluated and shown in graphs as functions of carrier to noise power ratio, carrier to interference power ratio, phase error, impulsive index, the ration of Gaussian noise to impulsive noise power component, signal to noise power ration in phase locked loop(PLL), and fading figures. The rseults show that the error rate performances are generally more more degraded by impulsive noise than by Gaussian noise. But on the contrary the erors occurred more frequently by Gaussian noise than impulsive noise in a fading environment.

Considering the properties of the carbon nano tubes (CNT), their inclusion into the polymer matrix vastly increases the properties of the resultant composite. However, this is not the case due to the poor interfacial adhesion of the CNT and the polymer matrix. The present approach focuses on increasing the interaction between the polymer matrix and the CNT through the chemical modification of the CNT resulting in allyl ester functionalized carbon nanotubes (ACNT) and silane functionalized carbon nano tubes (SCNT) which are capable of reacting with the polymer matrix during the curing reaction. The addition of ACNT/SCNT into unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) resulted in the improvement of the electrical properties of resulted nanocomposites in comparison to the CNT. The surface resistivity, volume resistivity, dielectric strength, dry arc resistivity, and the comparative tracking index of the nanocomposites were significantly improved in comparison to CNT. The chemical modification of CNT was confirmed via spectroscopy.
In this paper, free vibration characteristics of a rotating double tapered functionally graded beam is investigated. Material properties of the beam vary continuously through thickness direction according to the power-law distribution of the volume fraction of the constituents. The governing differential equations of motion are derived using the Hamilton's principle and solved utilizing an efficient and semi-analytical technique called the Differential Transform Method (DTM). Several important aspects such as taper ratios, rotational speed, hub radius, as well as the material volume fraction index which have impacts on natural frequencies of such beams are investigated and discussed in detail. Numerical results are tabulated in several tables and figures. In order to demonstrate the validity and accuracy of the current analysis, some of present results are compared with previous results in the literature and an excellent agreement is observed. It is showed that the natural frequencies of an FG rotating double tapered beam can be obtained with high accuracy by using DTM. It is also observed that nondimensional rotational speed, height taper ratio, power-law exponent significantly affect the natural frequencies of the FG double tapered beam while the effects of hub radius and breadth taper ratio are negligible.

Silver nanowire (AgNW) networks have been adopted as a front electrode in Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) thin film solar cells due to their low cost and compatibility with the solution process. When an AgNW network is applied to a CIGS thin film solar cell, reflection loss can increase because the CdS layer, with a relatively high refractive index (n ~ 2.5 at 550 nm), is exposed to air. To resolve the issue, we apply solution-processed ZnO nanorods to the AgNW network as an anti-reflective coating. To obtain high performance of the optical and electrical properties of the ZnO nanorod and AgNW network composite, we optimize the process parameters - the spin coating of AgNWs and the concentration of zinc nitrate and hexamethylene tetramine (HMT - to fabricate ZnO nanorods. We verify that 10 mM of zinc nitrate and HMT show the lowest reflectance and 10% cell efficiency increase when applied to CIGS thin film solar cells.
The purpose of his study is to investigate the relationship between the business cycle and the fashion of silhouette from 1956 to 1992. Correlation analysis an regression analysis were used to investigate the relation of them. In this study, the coincident composite index was used as business cycle and change of skirt in length and width, collar and pants in width wee thoroughly checked through graphs and photographs. The results of analysis are as follows. 1. When the economy is to ascend, the skirts are short and narrow. On the country, when the economy is descend, they are long and wide. 2. The business cycle gives influence on skirts line and with, that is, about 18%, 33% of total changes. 3. In change of fashion, skirts length and width had significant positive correlation and they showed a tendency to move together. On the other hand, the change of collar and patterns in width have no connection with business fluctuation. 4. The change of fashion is affected by the movement of itself. According to analysis that includes the trend of skirts, about 50%, and 35% of changes in skirts length and width were decided by them,. and about 52% and 35% of change in collar and patterns width were decided by them.

The purpose of this study is to identify how much the MODIS NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) can explain the forest soil moisture simulated from SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool) model. For ChungjuDam watershed ($6,661.3\;km^2$) which covers 82.2% of forest, the SWAT model was calibrated for four years (2003-2006) at two locations of the watershed using daily streamflow data and was verified for three years (2000-2002) with average Nash and Sutcliffe model efficiencies of 0.69 and 0.75 respectively. For the period from March to June, the average spatial correlation between 16 days composite MODIS NDVI and the corresponding SWAT forest soil moisture was 0.90. The two variables averaged for each data set during that period showed an inverse relation with the average coefficient of determination of 0.55.

To investigate the effect of potato lipoxygenase on the farinograph characteristics of wheat flour dough, composite flours containing enzyme-active potato flor (EPF) and hot-ar dried potato flour(HPF) were used. EPF was made by freeze-drying potato tuber. DPF (denaturated potato flour) was prepared by holding EPF at 8$0^{\circ}C$ for 18 hr in a dry oven. The potato flours were added to wheat flour at a level of 10% , respectivley. EPFB (enzyme-active potato flour blends, 90% wheat flour +105 enzyme -active potato flour) containing lipoxygenase activity gave higher farinogram peak time and higher stability values, lower MTI (mixing tolerance index ) and lower weakness values than those of HPFB(hot-air potato flour blends, 90% wheat flour + 10 % hot-air potato flour). Moreover, then lipoxygenase was added to DPFB(denatured potato flour blends , 90% wheat flour + 10% denatured potato flour) at a level of EPFB, it resulted in increasing stability, peak time and decreasing MTI , weakness at a level of EPFB. When the lipoxugenase was added to wheat flour with fumaric acid at alevel of 6.5 $\times$ 10units/g flour, lipoxygenase overcame the deleterious effects that fumaric acid including activated double-bond compounds have at mixing stability. Also the addition of liposxygenase with linoleic acid to defatted wheat flour resulted in the increase in stability and decrease in MTI value compared with those of linoleic acid and defatted wheat flour.
