In the shipbuilding process, the confined work spaces of the ship are formed continuously; the ventilation method can therefore be limited to dilution ventilation due to the complex structure and limited opening of the confined space. Also, it is difficult to evaluate air-quality using measurement and an adequate ventilation method. CFD simulation methods are typically used in analyzing ventilation efficiency in these cases. In this study, a method is suggested to analyze the air quality of the complex enclosures in shipbuilding using CFD. Especially, among the conventional indices, the ventilation efficiency scales or indices, the supply air contribution (SVE4), and the age of the air (SVE3) (fit for the confined and complex enclosure) were applied.
A reaction between germanium (Ge) and the ligand, o-chlorophenylfluorone (o-CPF) has been carried out. The reaction sensitive at pH 4.5 in the presence of triton x-100 was selective in the presence of EDTA. The spectral correction technique was ap plied to the analysis of the reaction instead of single wavelength spectrophotometry because the absorption of excess of o-CPF was not negligible. An updated determination of the properties of the Ge(IV)-o-CPF complex is given, which involved the complex ratio, stepwise absorptivity and stability constant of the complex. In present work, the results show that the complex $Ge(o-CPF)_3was$ formed and its cumulative stability constant was 1.09 ${\times}$1016 . For sample analysis, the detection limit of germanium was 0.01 mg/L, and the recoveries were between 96.4% and 102%, with relative standard deviations of less than 6.5%.
Here I report an electrochemical simulation work that compares voltammetric current and resistance of a complex electrochemical reaction over a potential scan. For this work, the finite element method is employed which are frequently used for voltammetry but rarely for impedance spectroscopy. Specifically, this method is used for simulation of a complex reaction where a heterogeneous faradaic reaction is followed by a homogeneous chemical reaction. By tracing the current and its polarization resistance, I learn that their relationship can be explained in terms of rate constants of charge transfer and chemical change. An unexpected observation is that even though the resistance is increased by the rate of the following chemical reaction, the current can be increased due to the potential shift of the resistance made by the proceeding faradaic reaction. This report envisions a possibility of the FEM-based resistance simulation to be applied to understand a complex electrochemical reaction. Until now, resistance simulations are mostly based on equivalent circuits or complete mathematical equations and have limitations to find proper models. However, this method is based on the first-principles, and is expected to be complementary to the other simulation methods.
This main study was the subject of the play facilities of children picnicking place which was installed in apartment complex. As to the production period of the facilities, the materiality and the materials of the play facilities, we examined the safety estimation about them. And we drew up a plan which could build and manage the children play facilities improved the better. According to the installation place, the result of safety estimation, the safety of play facilities in Ga-Kyeong-dong apartment complex which built up after 1997 years was the most excellent, the play facilities of Sa-Gik-Dong apartment Complex which built long ago have showed even poorer in all items of safety estimation. According to the materiality of play facilities, though the safety of association play rod in the safety estimation was the most excellent, the safety of swing was the very poor. According to the materiality of materials, the association of wood, stainless in the safety estimation was the safest. Especially, even though wood is soft and kind materials, as it has a shortcoming, the practical use depreciates. If iron materials like stainless associates with wood, we have thought that they have the good effect of the practical use. We have judged that the distance of contiguity facilities and the safety of corrosion or rottenness within the item of safety estimation as a subordination variable were the poorest. The arrangement of play facilities and the selection of materials happened to these problems. And we have known that they should get accomplished the construction work to make a plan thoroughly from it early.
One of the most important and powerful tools available for design and/or study of the operation of complex systems and processes is simulation. Since automated material handling systems like AS/RS are often quite complex, a network-based simulation model is developed to analyze an automobile part supplier's automated storage and retrieval system(AS/RS). The network simulation model is implemented in the SLAM Ⅱ on a VAX 8800 computer. Performance of the AS/RS was tested for 3 dispatching rules, 3 work load levels, 2 storage policies, 3 levels of stacker crane break-down, and 2 conveyor system layouts. Results indicate that the AS/RS performance is primarily affected by the dispatching rule and work load level.
This paper examines that it is possible to apply RWCIM for determining eigenvector coefficients associated with eigenvalues for V-notched cracks in anisotropic dissimilar materials using the complex stress function. To verify the RWCIM algorithm, two tests will be shown. First it is performed to ascertain whether predicted coefficients associated with eigenvectors is obtained exactly. Second, it makes an examination of the state of stress for FEM and RWCIM according to a number of eigenvectors at a location far away from the V-notched crack tip.

This paper introduces a new approach for evaluating reliability of a complex system in terms of distributional parameters where analytical determination of reliability is intractable. The concept of discrete approximation, reported in the literature so far, fails to meet the latter requirement in terms of distributional parameters. The current work aims at offering a bound based approach where reliability planners not only get a clear idea about the extent of error but also can manipulate in terms of distributional parameters. This reliability approximation has been under taken under the Weibull frame work which is the most widely used model for reliability analysis. Numerical study has been carried out to examine the strength of our proposed reliability approximation via closeness between the two reliability bounds. This approach will be very useful during the early stages of product design as the distributional parameters can be adjusted.
Due to recent increased air traffic,, air traffic controllers in charge of en-route and approach control have faced huge increase in both workload and its intensity. The purpose of this paper is to analyze how much safety culture of air traffic controllers has effect on their complexity mitigation strategies during their duties. It could be expected complexity mitigation improve air traffic flow resulting in enhancing safety eventually. According to empirical analysis against air traffic controllers in civil aviation and air force in South Korea, it was proven safety culture had a statistically positive effect on complex mitigation strategies through safety behavior. In safety culture among air traffic controllers, intrinsic culture had a positive effect on extrinsic value of safety culture. Intrinsic value of safety culture led to air traffic controllers' safety behavior which created work complexity mitigation strategies. Among work complexity mitigation strategies, communication and cooperation was proven to be the most important factor effected by safety culture and behavior. It was implied that enhancing the intrinsic values of safety culture would cause to improve extrinsic safety culture and air traffic controller's work efficiency.
Objectives: The objective of the present study was to identify mycobacterial infection in retired dusty workers who were ineligible for medical care benefits for work-related pneumoconiosis. Methods: Sputum samples were collected from 170 retired dusty workers living in Gangwon-do. The mycobacterial culture was grown in 2% Ogawa medium and Mycobacteria Growth Indicator Tube(MGIT). Mycobacterial species were identified using MolecuTech REBA Myco-IDⓇ. Results: Thirty-one(18.2%) out of 170 sputum samples were identified as positive for culture. Among the positive culture samples, eleven(6.5%) were identified as mycobacterial species. The proportion of mycobacteria was M. avium 2.3%(4/170), M. fortuitum complex 1.2%(2/170), M. intracellulare 1.2%(2/170), M. abscessus 0.6%(1/170), M. tuberculosis(MTB) complex 0.6%(1/170), and MYC(NTM except 19 species) 0.6%(1/170). Conclusions: In comparison with previous studies, the incidence rate of tuberculosis(TB) in retired dusty workers who were ineligible for medical care benefits for work-related pneumoconiosis was higher than in close contact with TB patients, workers exposed to silica, and patients with silicosis. And the proportion of non-tuberculosis mycobacteria(NTM) was higher than that of MTB.
The ultimate goal of construction is to complete the given work in the most economical and safest way within the required construction period while meeting the quality standards specified in the design drawing. There are a few characteristics of finish work. First, executed in subdivided processes, finish work involves a very diverse and complex structure. Second, there are no criteria for each segmented process with regard to the appropriate time of input. Third, it is not very necessary to set priorities for lead and lag works. This study intends to provide information on the completion of a project in accordance with the required duration by setting priorities in the delay of each detailed process of finish work to minimize delay in finish work. In this study, finish work is divided into wet work and other types of finish work, and the importance of each process is classified based on the given details of each process. In addition, the study employs a survey to analyze delay factors of a designer, a constructor, and a supplier. Using the survey results, the study sets priorities in delay of final work to provide information on the completion of an apartment project within the planned construction period.
