Construction industry has become a larger and highly competitive industry. A successful construction project cannot be achieved only by efficient and fast construction techniques but also reasonable material cost and adequate transferring time of materials to installation. The steel industry in East Asia has become the mainstream in overall steel industries in over the world during the middle of the 21st century. China, Japan and Korea has been the main exportation countries. However, even though the international economic failure, China has increased the exportation amount and became an only exporting country which must be considered a serious problem regarding competitiveness in the international steel exportation industry. Thus, this study analyses the factors affecting the supply and demand amount of reinforced bars in the domestic field and moreover suggesting a unit cost prediction model using the System Dynamics simulation methodology, one of powerful prediction tools using cause-effect relationships. It is expected that this study contributes to the domestic steel industry growth in competitiveness in the international industry. In addition, the methodology used in this paper presents the frameworks for appropriate tools for market trend analysis and prediction of other markets.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to propose useful suggestions by analyzing difference of financial performance between "Excellent Quality Competitiveness Enterprise(EQCE)" awarding companies and all the manufacturing companies during the period 2003-2014 and by testing the moderating effects of performance year. Methods: This paper perform the longitudinal study during the period 2003-2014. The collected data through list of National Quality Award and financial report of CRETOP were analyzed using independent-sample t-test, paired-sample t-test, one way ANOVA and empirical analysis. Results: The results of this study are as follows; EQCE showed higher growth rate than all the companies until 2008, but profitability, stability, and activity are not significantly different between the both. Therefore EQCE have partial influences on growth rate among several financial performance measures until 2008. Since 2009 there are no differences. The effects of EQCE on financial performance are different by the year. Conclusion: EQCE award system was a meaningful promotion method to enhance good financial performance through encouraging quality management for the manufacturing companies until 2008, But since 2009 it is expected to lose its role as a promoting tool for quality management and performance excellence. Therefore new way of thinking for EQCE, as a national quality award system, is necessary; changing awarding system, award criteria, or etc.

Recently, airport competitiveness measure is not only passenger and cargo throughput but also value-added activities of their hinterland and airport city. That is, airport competitiveness comes from airport versus airport to airport with their own-supplied city and hinterland connected with airport to provide diversified functions. This study surveyed and analyzed how to form a cluster focused on Incheon International Airport and what are important factors to form of cluster in achieving competences. These clusters need government's political support. In this case, there was a shortage of specialized human resources in competent local suppliers, and limited informations sharing.

This study presents the useful information for manufacturing industry-based development strategies at which Kangwondo province should aim, using the existing survey materials, interviews, and questionnaires. To analyze the technological competitive level of major eight enterprises in Kangwondo province, a synthetic evaluation has been conducted for areas such as new technology development, product development, production technology, and technological competitiveness. The study reveals that, among the technological competitiveness related factors, the managing status of business results, comparing analysis of business results, the applications of industrial property right, the registration of industrial property right, and the domestic and foreign certification show lower level than the other factors.

Cloud service (Amazon Web Services, etc.) to take advantage of the growing global competitiveness of small and medium companies with online services (eg Zynga, paprika wrap) are strenthening the growing global competitiveness by taking advantage of cloud utilization, and financial market analysis services by cloud use have appeared, but the domestic company's cloud still staying in the low-level. SMEs in Korea IT infrastructure needs as well as commercial services such as simulation, test environment configuration, to perform tasks that require a step-by-step in the product development process, which requires different IT Infrastructure Outsourcing workforce commitment, according to the rapid changes in the size of the organization's efficient IT infrastructure such as cloud services because of the lack of capacity to respond to a sudden demand for IT measures required.

Due to rapid growth of East Asian economy, some changes are being made in trade volume and shipping market of this area. Busan port in Korea and Shanghai port in China are continually increasing their investment in port development and competitiveness in order to become the logistics hub of Northeast Asia. Especially the competition for transshipment containers becomes more and more fierce. So in this study, we set a goal of increasing the port competitiveness on transshipment cargo by an analysis of competition strategies. We choose the Busan port and the Shanghai port as the research objects, game competition model and real data is used to analyze the two ports' price strategies and market share. According to the results, some advices will be put forward to enhance competitiveness of the two ports.

Since the mid 1980s, the concept of logistics has become more important to the enterprises in strategic sense because it had aggrandized itself to more comprehensive and integrative concept. Therefore study on the service organization of the logistics system for customer’s satisfaction from the management’s point has been focused as one of the major subject in order to improve the logistics quality which would ultimately increase the value of logistics service. This study has been focused on what the port logistics functions and the factors of the port logistics quality are those Korean port managers acknowledge as important factor. And examins these port logistics quality levels and the port logistics value (port productivity, service results) obtained by the results of these activities while reviewing the relation of the custom value which the port managers evaluate in order to evaluate and promote the competitiveness of the Korean port. According to the study results the port logistics function which the Pusan Container Terminal managers recognized as important were customer service management the flexibility of the port facilities and curtailment of the original operation cost of the port. It also indicated that the managers recognized the importance of the customer-oriented terminal management as it showed a close relationship with the port quality level.

The purpose of this study was to examine the facilities, the current status, and the problems of Korean Exhibition Industry and to provide its future direction based on analysis of the characteristics and the recent trend of German Exhibition Industry. Data were obtained from previous research papers, periodicals, magazines, and newspapers. Also, statistical data provided by AUMA(Ausstellungs- und Messe- Ausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft e.V.), Association of Korean Exhibition Industries, and Global Exhibition Portal were used. In the result part of this study, various issues such as similarities and differences between Korean and German Exhibition Industry and problems of Korean Exhibition Industry were discussed. The strategies to improve the competitiveness of Korean Exhibition Industry were suggested. They are as follows ; development of global and specialized exhibitions, training of professional human resources for exhibition, formulating of aggressive and powerful oversee marketing, formation of oversee network, improving of laws, regulation and system in such a way to meet the realistic needs of exhibition, building of infrastructure such as roads, traffic networks and accomodations, raise of the Korea image and strengthen of quality of exhibition service.

The analytical hierarchy process (AHP) enables decision makers to represent the interaction of multiple factors in complex and unstructured situations. The process requires the decision maker to develop a hierarchical structure of the factors in the given problem and to provide judgments about the relative importance of each of these factors and ultimately to specify a preference for each decision alternative with respect to each factor. The research presented in this paper applies the AHP to identify key players in promoting port competitiveness. The literature survey revealed four major criteria and 15 sub-criteria. The four factors are cost, service quality, facility/capacity and economic-social variable. 150 questionnaires suitable for AHP analysis were made and 77 were returned. It is found that in terms of cost, the first key player is terminal operator and the second key player is shipping companies calling Busan port; in terms of service quality, the first key player is terminal operator, and the second key player is shipping companies calling Busan port; in terms of facility/capacity, the first key player is port authority and the second key player is terminal operator; in terms of economic-social variable, the first key player is terminal operator, and the second key player is shipping companies calling Busan port.

Low Cost Carrier(LCC)s in Asia Pacific market are expected to record high growth due to the expansion of Open Sky Policy among Korea, Japan, China and South East Asia. As everybody is aware of, LCC is not only saving flight cost but also creates differentiating business model by reducing unnecessary services such as F&B and in-flight duty free sales services. Booming LCCs in Asian market will cause not only Incheon airport but also other local airports in Korea to compete heavily to attract LCCs. For example, Air Asia Group with more than 200 fleet has expanded its alliance network throughout Asia. Therefore this paper has researched a new business model operating a LCC terminal for the hub airport competitiveness. According to analysis result of case study, it was found out, considering increasing airline demand next decade, Incheon airport and other domestic airports in Korea had better change an existing terminal into a LCC Terminal(LCCT) to differentiate airport services and expand its hub network. That is because of economic feasibility, first of all, of securing hub and spoke networking capabilities with airlines and finally of developing commercial facilities customizing LCC passengers' demand.
