Uniform Pricing하에서의 지역적 완화방안으로서의 Bid Cap (An Assessment of Local Market Power and Bid Cap Under Uniform Pricing Scheme)

  • With the growing competitive pressure from market participants, utilities, consumer and government, analyses of existing competitive electricity market become more important. The presence of congestion in the transmission system can significantly increase the potential of exercising market power. Since the congestion in the network depends on the several factors, the market power cannot be simply analyzed through the existing indices. This paper presents a systematic analysis on local market power under uniform pricing scheme and provides determining approach of the level of price cap as mitigation measure of the strategic market power.

Beyond Speed : Nine Dimensions of Computer Network Quality Perceived by Its Users

  • The trend toward globalization and competitive advantage is increasing the importance of international data communication . The more companies attempt to be globalized and competitive, the more critical the problems of the computer networks are. To improve computer networks in the business world, it is believed that the network shoud be approached from the viewpoint of service quality : we need to understand what network quality means to network users, those who use the network. The purpose of this study is to develop a dimension that captures the aspects of network quality that are important to network users. Many articles show that speed is very important factor in network systems. But the more important thing is that speed is just one of the factors contributing to network quality. It is suggested that a quality network meet nine dimensions : (1) speed (2) accessibility (3) connectivity (4) security (5) compatibility, (6) government restrictions (7) complexity (8) sustainability and (9) sharability.

  • The world is changing so rapidly and being globalized and competitive. Also, food service companies in Korea have been making a speedy growth. In order that food service companies ran take long-term viability, they should introduce the market-orientation concept. Because market-orientation requires to investigate the factors of ever-diversified market environment on a regular basis, they can build up more detailed, practical and differentiated strategies than before. Thus, this study aimed to establish that the strategy of competitive edges based on the concepts could yield excellent marketing performance.

  • In a competitive environment, selecting and effectively pursing the right information system investments can be a key factor in sustaining corporate viability and prosperity. This study applies quality function deployment(QFD) to the determination of information system development priority. The intent of QFD is to incorporate the needs of a customer through the various stages of product planning and manufacturing into a final product. The basic idea of our study is to translate the core competence and the competitive environment into the business strategy, and the critical success factors, and subsequently into information system development priority. Our method is applied to a motor company for the determination of the information system development priority. The company case is illustrated step by step with real data of the company and motor market.

경쟁적 전력시장에서 한계손실계수 적용시 기준모선 선정에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Selection of Slack Bus at Application of Marginal Loss-Factor in a Competitive Electricity Market)

  • Marginal Loss Factor(MLF) is represented as the sensitivity of transmission loss, which is computed from the change of the generation at slack bus by the change of the load at the arbitrary bus. The MLF dependent on the selection of slack bus is one of the key factors affecting nodal pricing, Genco's profits, social welfare(SW) and Nash Equilibrium in a competitive electricity market. This paper addresses the methodology of slack bus selection by using Cournot model of Cost Based Pool market. Numerical results from sample cases show that the slack bus of MLF of the highest average is beneficial from the view points of SW.

An International Index for Customer Satisfaction in the Construction Industry

  • In a competitive business environment, like construction, achieving customer satisfaction has been identified as an important element for measuring project's success and sustaining competitive advantage. Traditionally, customers were expelled from the product development process. Little effort was done, in the past to identify the factors that lead to customer satisfaction and hence, use them for product improvement. Organizations that adopted that approach, encountered the risk of losing their customers. In construction, end-users of governmental housing projects were excluded from the design decision making process and accordingly, their requirements were not reflected in design. Although a number national customer satisfaction indices and barometers have been developed worldwide, they have their own limitations and shortcomings. This paper aims to develop an international index for customer satisfaction in the construction Industry. For the first time in construction literature, this research identified, validated and classified 45 drivers for achieving customer satisfaction in the construction industry.

  • When Power market is restructured, we have an argument with selecting Transmission loss factors. First, we determine the method of calculating Transmission loss factor using OPF (Optimal Power Flow) or PF (Power Flow Equation). Then, we decide that we applicate the factor which are identical value all the year or which are floating Transmission loss factor every each hour. In this study, we accomplish the method of computing Transmission cost in competitive market.

철도 관제권 운영주체 선정을 위한 평가항목 개발 (Development of Evaluation Factors for Selecting Operator of Rail Traffic-Control)

  • 최근 정부에서는 철도경쟁체제 도입에 따른 관제권 이관을 추진함에 따라 관련 기관간 첨예한 반응을 보이고 있어, 관제권 운영주체 선정에 대한 합리적 객관적 평가항목과 기준이 필요한 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 철도 관제권 운영주체를 선정하기 위한 평가항목으로 안전성, 보안성, 효율성, 공정성 등 5가지 항목을 도출하고, AHP분석을 위해 각 항목에 대해 3가지 수준으로 위계를 설정한 후, 각 항목별 가중치를 도출하였다. 관련 분야별 비교를 위해 평가항목에 대한 중요도를 철도운영자, 시설관리자 그리고 관련 학연전문가 그룹으로 나누어 설문 및 분석하였다. 분석결과 관제권을 담당하는 기관을 선정할 때 안전성이 가장 중요한 항목으로 도출되었으며, 이해관계에 따라 공정성 또는 보안성, 그리고 효율성 등이 중요한 것으로 나타났다. 관제업무에 대한 적정 운영주체를 5점 척도로 평가한 결과 철도운영자가 2.75점, 그리고 철도시설관리자가 3.83점으로 향후 철도시장 다변화에 따른 관제권의 운영주체는 철도시설관리자가 더 적절한 것으로 나타났다. 향후, 철도 관제권 운영주체에 대한 선정 시 본 연구에서 도출된 평가항목 및 기준을 활용한다면 좀 더 합리적 객관적 운영주체 선정이 이루어 질 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • 최근 정부의 미디어 관련법 개정으로 국내 미디어 산업 환경 및 산업 구조에 급격한 변화가 일어나고 있다. 특히 종합편성 채널의 도입 결정은 기존 전통적인 미디어 사업자와 종합편성채널 사업 진입에 가능성이 있는 국내 기업, 콘텐츠 사업자 등에 직 간접적인 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국내 종합편성채널 사업자의 경쟁 방안에 관한 초기 연구로 써 Scenario Network Mapping 방법론을 통해 산업의 변화와 사업자의 경쟁방안을 분석하였다. 연구 결과 신규 사업의 경쟁력 확보, 정부의 정책적 지원, 콘텐츠 차별화 성공이 사업 정착의 주요 성공 요인으로, 장기적인 관점에서는 정책적 지원보다는 사업자의 자체 경쟁력이 더욱 중요하게 나타났다. 본 연구는 종합편성채널 사업 도입에 따른 이슈 분석 및 경쟁방안에 관한 초기 연구로 사업 진입을 고려하는 사업자와 정부에게 종합편성채널에 관한 이해를 돕고 전략 방향 설정 등에 유용한 시사점을 제공한다.
