  • Atopic dermatitis is the fastest growing skin disorder among children from infancy to adolescence in Korea. The side-effects of atopic dermatitis not only include physical discomfort, but also psychological trauma which ultimately affects the developmental growth of children. This study was conducted in order to investigate the behavioral characteristics of an atopic dermatitis sufferer. As part of this research, the relative influence of behavioral problems and, self-perceived competence were analyzed in relation to the social competence of an atopic child. In total, 301 atopic and non-atopic children, between 2 and 6 years of age, and their mothers and teachers participated in the study. From this number, 109 children had atopic dermatitis, while 192 children did not. Mothers were asked to complete a parent-report questionnaire that required information on parental stress, according to the scale parenting methodology of Abbdin(1990) and Cho(1999). Teachers were subjected to teacher-report questionnaires which included topics on social competence, socia-emotional assessment and behavioral problems of an atopic child. Furthermore, children also completed questionnaires on self-perceived competence. According to analysis on K-CBCL, ITSEA, social competence, self-perceived competence and parental stress, children with atopic dermatitis showed higher scores in depression/anxiety and depression/withdrawal, compared to children in the normal control group. In relation to parental stress, daily stress, parental role stress, and stress related disease, mothers with atopic dermatitis children exhibited higher scores. In establishing relationships among the related variables, atopic children who demonstrated more social competence were more likely to suffer less from withdrawal, attention problems, and depression/anxiety. Stress related disease in mothers with atopic children was positively related to attention problems of the child. In terms of relative influences, behavioral problems was the most significant variable, accounting for 23% of variance. Lower behavioral problems was positively related to more social competence. In summation, this study investigated the general characteristics of atopic children. In conclusion, atopic children and their mothers had difficulty in dealing with this disease. It is our belief that an atopic child would not only require physical treatment, but also need appropriate psychological care.

  • Bowlby has proposed that child-mother attachment is important in the child's representation of self. In this study the child's self-perceived competence was examined in connect8ion with child-mother attachment in a sample of 40 6-year-olds. Quality of attachment was assessed based on the child's behavior on reunion following a seperation using a system devised by Main and Cassidy. The self-perceived competence was assessed with a pictorial harter's Scale revised by Julie Lee. The results showed significant connections between attachment and the self-perceived competence. Specific areas of self-perceptions were related to particular patterns of attachment.

  • As the awareness of the importance of Start-up increases, the number of entrepreneurs who decide to start their career is gradually increasing. However, the rate of start-up failure is still high and the qualitative level is very low due to lack of start-up performance. In this study, we analyzed the effect of entrepreneurship capability and start-up support system on start-up performance. To that end, 361 valid data were collected from businesses that were established less than seven years ago in Jeollabuk-do on August 1, 2018 and used for study verification through SPSS 21 and AMOS 21. First, the entrepreneurial competence (entrepreneurial competence, managerial competency) has a positive effect on the start-up support system and the technical competency has no significant effect. Second, entrepreneurial competence (entrepreneurial competence, managerial competency, technical competency) has a significant effect on entrepreneurial performance. However, entrepreneurial competence has a meaningful effect on the start-up performance of entrepreneurs with a negative (-) effect. Third, it was found that the start - up support system had a positive effect on the start - up performance. Finally, the start - up support system proved to have mediating effect between entrepreneurial competence and start - up performance. The implications of this study are as follows. In order to increase the start-up performance of the start-up companies, it is proved that increasing the capacity of the start-ups is an important factor. In addition, empirical studies have proved that the use of start-up support system is an important factor that directly or indirectly has a significant effect on start-up performance, We have made meaningful implications that actively supporting and utilizing entrepreneurship is necessary to enhance start-up performance.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of college adjustment, character, communicative competence, and interpersonal competence on field practice adaptation of college student. Subjects were 231 nursing students and medical students in J city and C city, G-do. Using SPSS/WIN 20.0, multiple regression analysis using Baron & Kenny's three-step procedure and Sobel test were used to verify the significance of the mediator effect. The variables directly affecting field practice adaptation were college adjustment (${\beta}=.22$, p=.003) and interpersonal competence (${\beta}=.38$, p<.001). Character and Communicative competence did not have a direct affect on field practice adaptation (${\beta}=.02$, p=.740), (${\beta}=.04$, p=.590) but indirect effect through interpersonal competence was significant(${\beta}=.15$, p=.004), (${\beta}=.19$, p=.011). As character and communicative competence are the variables affecting field practice adaptation through interpersonal competence, training programs to improve character, communicative competence, and interpersonal competence in college are needed.
