In this paper, an engine-CVT integrated control algorithm is suggested by considering the inertia torque and the CVT ratio change response lag in acceleration. In order to compensate for drive torque time delay due to CVT response lag, two algorithms are presented: (1) an optimal engine torque compensation algorithm, and (2) an optimal engine speed compensation algorithm. Simulation results show that the optimal engine speed compensation algorithm gives better engine operation around the optimal operation point compared to the optimal torque compensation while showing nearly the same acceleration response. The performance of the proposed engine-CVT integrated control algorithms are compared with those of conventional CVT control, and It is found that optimal engine operation can be achieved by using integrated control during acceleration, and improved fuel economy can be expected while also satisfying the driver's demands.

In this paper, we deal with a decentralized control scheme with input compensation form for gantry crane systems. By considering the gantry cranes characteristics, the system is decentralized into two subsystems, the travelling and swaying subsystem and the hoisting subsystem. For decentralizing the system, a simple algorithm is proposed using the observability canonical form. The decentralized subsystems include unknown inputs that one coupled with other subsystems and actuator failures. These unknown input and actuator failures are estimated by using PI observation techniques. And those estimated values are used to construct an input compensation form. Finally, the proposed decentralized control scheme for the gantry crane systems is verified by crane simulation.

When power consumption increases, power supply must be efficient and reliable for good power quality. The studies on compensation system of power quality are processing actively. Voltage sag among of factors for power quality is generally PI dual control that voltage sag compensation is used. But this control is no more available since of 120[KHz] ripple rejection. So we proposed the control algorithm using PID control in 3-phase unbalanced power system and the series voltage compensator, when voltage sag occurs.
In this paper, a novel speed control strategy using an acceleration feedforward compensation by the estimation of the system inertia is proposed. With the proposed method, the enhanced speed control performance can be achieved and the speed response against the disturbance torque can be improved for the vector-controller induction motor drive systems in which the bandwidth of the speed controller cannot be made large enough. The experimental results confirm the validity of the proposed strategy.
In this paper, the dynamic compliance and its compensation control of the force control system on the highly integrated valve-controlled cylinder (HIVC), the joint driver of the hydraulic drive legged robot, is researched. During the robot motion process, the outer loop dynamic compliance control is applied on the base of hydraulic control inner loop and most inner loop control are the force or torque closed loop control. While the dynamic compliance control effectiveness of outer loop can be affected by the inner loop self-dynamic-compliance. Based on this problem, the dynamic compliance series composition theory of HIVC force control system as well as the analysis of its self-dynamic-compliance is proposed. And then the paper comes up with the compliance-enhanced control, which is a compound compensation control method of dynamic compliance with multiple series branches. Finally, the experiment results indicate that the control method mentioned above can enhance the dynamic compliance of HIVC force control system observably. This provides the compensation control method of inner loop dynamic compliance for the outer loop compliance control requiring the high accuracy and high robustness for the robot.

Piezoelectric actuators exhibit limited accuracy in tracking control due to their hysteresis nonlinearity. In this study a digital tracking control approach for a piezoelectric actuator based on incorporating a feedback linearization loop with a PID feedback controller is presented. The hysteresis nonlinearity of the piezoelectric actuator is modeled in the feedback compensation loop using the Maxwell slip model. Experiments were performed on a piezoelectric 2-axis linear positioner for tracking linearly decaying sinusoidal waveforms and circles. The experimental results show that the tracking control performance is noticeably improved by augmenting the feedback loop with a model of hysteresis in the feedback compensation loop.

The phase currents must be accurately measured to achieve the instantaneous torque control of AC motors. In general, those are measured using the current sensors. However, the measured current signals can include the offset errors and scaling errors by several components such as current sensors, analog amplifiers, noise filter circuits, and analog-to-digital converters. Therefore, the torque-controlled performance can be deteriorated by the current measurement errors. In this paper we have analyzed the influence caused by vector control of 2-phase induction motor when two errors are included in measured phase currents. Based on analyzed results, the compensation method is proposed without additional hardware. The proposed compensation method was applied vector-controlled inverter for 2-phase induction motor of 360[W] class and verified through computer simulations and experiments.

In this paper, an adaptive disturbance compensation technique is used in a tracking problem, under which the tracking reference is unknown. Based on a simple disturbance observer that effectively estimates the low frequency components of disturbance, the feedforward compensation is applied in addition to the conventional feedback control. Under the proposed compensation method, sensitivity analysis is given to illustrate the effectiveness. Finally, the proposed method is applied to the tracking problem in an optical storage system.

This paper presents a navigation error compensation scheme for Strap-Down Inertial Navigation System(SDINS) using electro-optical sensor. The proposed scheme uses the position or the attitude information from the sensor. For each case, Kalman filter model is derived and implemented. To show the effectiveness of the present compensation scheme, computer simulations have been carried out resulting in the boundedness of position and attitude errors.
