This paper presents an examination of the spatial integration method for extracting the RCS of a trihedral corner reflector from SAR images for SAR external calibration. An exact external radiometric calibration technique is required for extracting an exact calibration constant. Therefore, we examine the accuracy of the spatial integration method, which is commonly used for the SAR external radiometric calibration. At first, an SAR image for a trihedral corner reflector is simulated with a high-resolution SAR impulse response with a known theoretical RCS of the reflector, and a background clutter image for the high resolution SAR system is also generated. Then, a SAR image in a high resolution is generated for a trihedral comer reflector located on a background clutter by superposition of the two SAR images. The radar cross section of a trihedral corner reflector in the SAR image is retrieved by integrating the radar signals of the pixels adjacent to the reflector for various size of the integration area. By comparison of the measured RCS by the integration method and the theoretical RCS of the reflector, the effect of the size of the integration area on the extraction of the calibration constant is examined.

The way to measure the extent of damage from floods and droughts is to identify changes in the extent of water systems. In order to effectively grasp this at a glance, satellite images are used. KOMPSAT-5 uses Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) to capture images regardless of weather conditions such as clouds and rain. In this paper, various deep learning models are applied to perform semantic segmentation of the water system in this SAR image and the performance is compared. The models used are U-net, V-Net, U2-Net, UNet 3+, PSPNet, Deeplab-V3, Deeplab-V3+ and PAN. In addition, performance comparison was performed when the data was augmented by applying elastic deformation to the existing SAR image dataset. As a result, without data augmentation, U-Net was the best with IoU of 97.25% and pixel accuracy of 98.53%. In case of data augmentation, Deeplab-V3 showed IoU of 95.15% and V-Net showed the best pixel accuracy of 96.86%.

In this paper, we proposed a lossless compression algorithm of medical images which is essential technique in picture archive and communication system. Mammographic image and magnetic resonance image in among medical images used in this study, proposed a region growing segmentation algorithm for compression of these images. A proposed algorithm was partition by three sub region which error image, discontinuity index map, high order bit data from original image. And generated discontinuity index image data and error image which apply to a region growing algorithm are compressed using JBIG(Joint Bi-level Image experts Group) algorithm that is international hi-level image compression standard and proper image compression technique of gray code digital Images. The proposed lossless compression method resulted in, on the average, lossless compression to about 73.14% with a database of high-resolution digital mammography images. In comparison with direct coding by JBIG, JPEG, and Lempel-Ziv coding methods, the proposed method performed better by 3.7%, 7.9% and 23.6% on the database used.
The purpose of this study was to investigate color planning method for apparel fashion de-sign and to present the method of analysis of green color. Theoretical backgrouds of color planning for fashion design were scrutinized by documentary studies Fashion color planning has been developed through 4 steps: analysis of color environment analysis of color psy-chology presentation of coordination appli-cation to fashion design. Green color environment consisted of mar-ket informations and forecast informations The former were collected by color samples which were used for women's apparel of national brands from '93 spring/summer to '96 spring/summer and the latter were analyzed by fashion forecasting books. Green color psy-chology was investigated through the docu-mentary studiess. image of green color and these expressed in fashion were revealed through documentary studies. The results of this study were as follow: 1. 117 green color samples were collected from domestic womens brand. The character-istic of samples were the yellow green in hue and pale light bright in tone. forecast infor-mation was collected through fashion forecasting books from abroad and adaption of forecast information was investigated by mak-ing a comparison forecasting information be-tween market information. In consequence national market colors reflected the forecast information in concurrence with the character-istic colors of national women's apparel. 2. Affirmative images of green were nature youth health and abundance and negative images were extraordinary misfortune wind-fall. in these images nature youth and health were mostly used in fashion.

In this paper, we propose a new algorithm to improve the contrast ratio, to preserve information of bright regions and to maintain the color of backlight image that appears with a great relative contrast. Backlight images of the natural environment have characteristics for difference of local brightness; the overall image contrast improvement is not easy. To improve the contrast of the backlight images, MSR (Multi-Scale Retinex) algorithm using the existing multi-scale Gaussian filter is applied. However, existing multi-scale Gaussian filter involves color distortion and information loss of bright regions due to excessive contrast enhancement and noise because of the brightness improvement of dark regions. Moreover, it also increases computational complexity due to the use of multi-scale Gaussian filter. In order to solve these problems, a linear MSR is performed that reduces the amount of computation from the HSV color space preventing the color distortion and information loss due to excessive contrast enhancement. It can also remove the noise of the dark regions which is occurred due to the improved contrast through edge preserving filter. Through experimental evaluation of the average color difference comparison of CIELAB color space and the visual assessment, we have confirmed excellent performance of the proposed algorithm compared to conventional MSR algorithm.

Inspections and diagnoses of corona discharge are important in order to prevent electrical faults of external insulation in power systems. This paper studies a measurement of ultra-violet rays(UV) strength of corona discharges on insulators using a UV sensor with an optic lens. The data has been compared with the images of a UV camera. The UV sensor estimated that DC voltage needed to be set at 700V for accurate data analysis of the properties of UV detected during corona discharge. UV was generated at 60kV when the corona discharge occurred. UV strength and images of UV increased at a high voltage. The image area of the UV using a UV camera and the detection of UV using a UV sensor have shown, that the polymer insulator mounted on a live part must be checked when the applied voltage on the good polymer insulator is greater than 37.5% of its breakdown voltage.
Purpose: In maxillofacial surgery, proper preoperative diagnosis is very important in achieving good postoperative results. Although conventional CT scans are useful for visual representations of fractures, they cannot provide direct guidance for reconstructing facial bone fractures. However, the recent technology of multislice scanning has brought many clinical benefits to CT images. Direct correlations can be made between preoperative imaging data and operative planning. The aim of the current study is to evaluate the differences between conventional CT and multidetective three-dimensional CT(3D MDCT) measurements in craniofacial deformities. Methods: From January 2005 to November 2005, MDCT scans of 41 patients were evaluated by comparing them with conventional CT scans. The 3D MDCT images were assessed and reviewed by using a simple scoring system. Results: The 3D MDCT scans offered easy interpretation, facilitated surgical planning, and clarified postoperative results in malar complex fractures, mandibular fractures, and extensive maxillofacial fractures and cranioplasty. However, 3D MDCT images were not superior to conventional CT scans in the diagnosis of blowout fractures. Conclusion: In spite of its limitations, the 3D MDCT provided additional and more comprehensive information than the conventional CT for preoperative assessment of craniofacial deformities. Therefore, the 3D MDCT can be a useful tool for diagnosis and systematic treatment planning in craniofacial skeletal deformities.

The merging of different scales or multi-sensor image data is becoming a widely used procedure of the complementary nature of various data sets. Ideally, the merging method should not distort the characteristics of the high-spatial and high-spectral resolution data used. To present an effective merging method for survey of reclaimed land, this paper compares the results of Intensity Hue Saturation (IHS), Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Color Normalized(CN) and High Pass Filter(HPF) methods used to merge the information contents of the high-resolution (6.6 m) Electro-Optical Camera (EOC) panchromatic image of the first Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite 1 (KOMPSAT-1) and the multi-spectral Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) image data. The comparison is made by visual evaluation of three-color combination images of IHS, PCA, CN and HPF results based on spatial and spectral characteristics. The use of a contrasted EOC panchromatic image as a substitute for intensity in merged images with MODIS bands 1, 2 and 3 was found to be particularly effective in this study.

This study used aerial and terrestrial images to build a three-dimensional model of cliffs located in Pado beach using SfM (Structure from Motion) techniques. Using both images, the study purposed to reduce the shadow areas that were found when using only aerial images. Accuracy of the two campaigns was assessed by root mean square error, and monitored by M3C2 (Multiscale Model to Model Cloud Comparison) method. The result of the M3C2 in closed areas such as sea cave and notch did not express the landforms partly. However, eroded debris on sea cliffs were detected as eroded area by M3C2, as well as in captured pictures by multi-camera. The result of this study showed the applicability of multi-camera and SfM in monitoring changes of sea cliffs.

Color chart area is automatically extracted in image that captured a crop such as fruits with the color chart, and an approximation formula is obtained for the change in feature value of the color indexes. Comparison is made with the color value of the crop area, and the growing degree is assessed according to the correlation. Using a compact PC equipped with the program, image of fruits is captured, and the output value obtained by the system is compared to the rating by expert. In the automatic recognition of the color chart out of doors, the complete color indexes is correctly acquired in 22 of 29 images. And indoors, they are correctly acquired in all of 34 images. In the color value judgment of the Japanese pear, indoors, 32 of 34 images is within 1.0 of the judgment error (compared the value read off by experts), the average error is about 0.5. These results indicate a practicable value.
