Bluetooth technology(BT) is a standard for short distance wireless communication and widely used to connect and control various electronic and telecommunication devices without wires, where CSR8670 chip is generally adopted. These BT devices are required to comply with BT specification and the equipments for conformance test are also important. However, the existing BT testing methods have inconvenience in that they are mostly time-consuming procedure due to not only repetitive execution for each evaluation element but also error-prone nature of manual experiments. This paper proposes an automated BT communication test method using CSR8670 chip, which solves the problems related to manual testing methods. The proposed method can reduce the development period of BT products and guarantee the quality improvement owing to the exact system error detection capability.

The adaptive line enhancer (ALE) is widely used for enhancing narrowband signals corrupted by broadband noise. In this paper, we propose novel ALE methods to improve the enhancing capability. The proposed methods are motivated by the fact that the output of the ALE is a fine estimate of the desired narrowband signal with the broadband noise component suppressed. The proposed methods preprocess the input signal using ALE filter to regenerate a finer input signal. Thus the proposed ALE is driven by the input signal with higher signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The analysis and simulation results are presented to demonstrate that the proposed ALE has better performance than conventional ALE´s.

Rendezvous is a process of two or more cognitive radio nodes gathering on the same channel at the same time for a negotiation to establish data communications. This paper discusses rendezvous issues in cognitive radio networks. It details why rendezvous is an issue in cognitive radio networks and how rendezvous works. It classifies channel access methods, and details sequence-based channel-hopping methods. It surveys existing works on blind rendezvous and compares the proposed algorithms in terms of the maximum time to rendezvous. This paper discusses the properties that an efficient channel-hopping rendezvous algorithm should have and illustrates common issues in the existing rendezvous methods. It also explains open research issues in the rendezvous area.

Recently, the study of smart phone user habits has become a highly focused topic due to the rapid growth of the smart phone market. Indeed, sequential pattern analysis methods were efficiently used for web-based user habit mining long time ago. However, by means of simulations, it has been observed that these methods might fail for smart phone-based user habit mining. In this paper, we propose a novel approach that leads to a considerably increased performance of the traditional sequential pattern analysis methods by reasonably cutting off each chronological sequence of user logs on a device into shorter ones, which represent the sequential user activities in various periods of a day.

This study describes the emotion classification using two different feature extraction methods for four-channel EEG signals. One of the methods is linear prediction analysis based on AR model. Another method is cross-correlation coefficients on frequencies of ${\theta}$, ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$ bands. Using the linear predictor coefficients and the cross-correlation coefficients of frequencies, the emotion classification test for four emotions, such as anger, sad, joy, and relaxation is performed with a neural network. Comparing the results of two methods, it seems that the linear predictor coefficients produce the better results than the cross-correlation coefficients of frequencies for-emotion classification.

The article examines the process of professional training in educational institutions, media technologies and methods of media communication in the educational space of the institution, characterizes the place of media technologies in the educational space in the context of the term "educational space" itself, systematizes the methods of media communications in education. The peculiarities of media education as a set of means and methods of teaching young people adequate media perception are pointed out.

MS Office suit software is the most widely used electronic documents by a large number of users in the world, which has absolute predominance in office software market. MS Office 2007-2013 documents, which use new office open extensible markup language (OOXML) format, could be illegally used as cover mediums to transmit secret information by offenders, because they do not easily arouse others suspicion. This paper proposes nine forensic methods and an integrated forensic tool for OOXML format documents on the basis of researching the potential information hiding methods. The proposed forensic methods and tool cover three categories; document structure, document content, and document format. The aim is to prevent covert communication and provide security detection technology for electronic documents downloaded by users. The proposed methods can prevent the damage of secret information embedded by offenders. Extensive experiments based on real data set demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

Background: Communication is important for the elderly to maintain existing social relationships while creating new relationships based on good communication skills to lessen psychological and emotional distress and lead a healthy life in advanced age. Aims: This study identifies the difference between the social network-based quality of communication life and the overall quality of life in the elderly and how much the quality of communication life affects the overall quality of life. Methods: This research includes a survey of the elderly aged 65 and over living in small cities of South Korea. Data sets of 201 elderly were analyzed. Results: This study found a significant correlation between the quality of communication life and the overall quality of life. Religion also influences the elderly's quality of communication life. The elderly's quality of communication life has 40% explanatory power of the overall quality of life. Conclusion: Consequently, senior citizens' quality of life will be improved through the enhanced quality of communication in addition to financial and health conditions by participating in various community activities similar to those provided by religion to increase opportunities for communication.
