  • It's been a common knowledge that Indonesia has a multicultural nature which produces a rich civilization, traditional textiles is one of the examples. Indonesian textile is one of the earlier/oldest artefacts being studied. The wide range of its selections also a proof that Indonesia already had an advanced culture. In Indonesia, textile isn't just a mere cloth; it also used to refer your social statuses, a ritual complements aspect, and many other symbolic purposes. Celebes textiles just a small example how rich this country culture is. The purpose of this study was to convince people that Indonesian traditional textile has a potential to stand in same ground with any modern textile produced around the world.

  • In this paper, to solve the defect of stand-alone type power system in a remote area, a hybrid power system with photovoltaic/wind/diesel generators is proposed. A hybrid power system has a power-balanced controller to equilibrate generation power with a given load demand and which is composed of common DC power system. To execute a power-balanced control, a hybrid power system is assumed that all of power generators have the characteristics of an equivalent current-source and load sharing control technique must be needed at the same time. So this paper describes the algorithm of interactive technique for design of a hybrid power system.

  • Simulation Based Acquisition(SBA) gains interest from the defense acquisition community. To accomplish SBA efficiently, M&S should be collaborately used in. This paper proposes PBA(PlugIn-Based Architecture) that is a common software development infrastructure and provides reuse mechanism with plugin components. PlugIns are reuse entity possible to plug-in-play statically and dynamically. This architecture supports stand alone simulation and HLA-compliant distributed simulation also.

  • As GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System) is used in various filed, many countries establish GNSS system independently. But GNSS system has the limitation of accuracy and stability in stand-alone mode, because this system has error elements which are ionospheric delay, tropospheric delay, orbit ephemeris error, satellite clock error, and etc. For overcome of accuracy limitation, the DGPS(Differential GPS) and RTK(Real-Time Kinematic) systems are proposed. These systems perform relative positioning using the reference and user receivers. ETRI(Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute) is developing precision navigation system in point of extension of GNSS usage. The precision navigation system is for providing the precision navigation solution to common users. If this technology is developed, GNSS system can be used in the fields which require precision positioning and control. In this paper, we introduce the precision navigation system and perform design and algorithm verification.

  • This paper describes an experiment on the embedded network agent. The embedded network agent is the device that will enable other devices to communicate over the Internet. Many devices have no way to communicate with other devices over the Internet The embedded network agent extends the stand-alone devices that have no TCP/IP protocol suite to the Internet, the global networks, without any hardware and software. To support the better efficiency, this parer proffers new TCP state diagram of the embedded network agent. This TCP state on the embedded network agent considers the status of the common devices behind the embedded network agent. Because of this consideration, the embedded network agent tenders an improved result to user.

  • We have used many Instrumentations to acquire the performance data of vehicles for many years. but these could not satisfied with environment specifications (vibration, shock, temperature) and data processing speed to applicate the performance test for armored military vehicles because of having developed as a common vehicles/fixed installation equipments. So new rugged embedded measurement system required to do large data acquisition and high processing speed (Maximum sample rate : 1.25MHz/ch) with rugged environment specifications. We have developed embedded measurement system by using PXI(PCI eXtension for Instrumentation)bus interface which were composed of stand alone controller and versatile data acquisition boards(analog, digital, vision ...

  • This study presents a non-video, non-invasive, automatic, on-site monitoring system the system employs ultrasonic transducers to detect behavior in sows before, during and after parturition. An ultrasonic transmitting/receiving (T/R) circuit of 40 kHz was mounted above a conventional parturition bed. The T/R units use ultrasonic time-of-flight (TOF) ranging technology to measure the height of the confined sows at eight predetermined locations. From this data, three momentary postures of the sow are determined, characterized as standing-posture (SP), lateral-lying-posture (LLP) and sitting posture (STP). By examining the frequencies of position switch Stand-Up-Sequence (SUS) between standing-posture (SP), lateral-lying-posture (LLP) and sitting-posture (STP) rate can be determined for the duration of the sow' confinement. Three experimental pureblooded Landrace sows undergoing normal gestation were monitored for the duration of confinement. In agreement with common observation, the sows exhibited increased restlessness as parturition approached. Analysis of the data collected in our study showed a distinct peak in Stand-Up-Sequence (SUS, i.e. the transition from lying laterally to standing up ) and sitting-posture (STP) rate approximately 12 h prior to parturition, the observed peak being 5 to 10 times higher than observed on any other measurement day. It is concluded that the presented methodology is a robust, low-cost, lowlabor method for the continuous remote monitoring of sows and similar large animals for parturition and other behavior. It is suggested that the system could be applied to automatic prediction of sow parturition, with automatic notification of remote management personnel so human attendance at birth could reduce rates of sow and piglet mortality. The results of this study provide a good basis for enhancing automation and reducing costs in large-scale sow husbandry and have applications in the testing of various large mammals for the effects of medications, diets, genetic modifications and environmental factors.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the growing characteristics of oak sprouts which have developed naturally after fire and to suggest proper management system which is adapted for oak coppice forest by controlling the number of sprouts. We examined 3 burned sites and 9 unburned pine stands in Kangwondo. In the early years sprouts of oak coppice forest grew very slowly after fire compare to common oak coppice forest. But they had over than 10 cm of DBH after 15years, their DBH reached 10 cm and entered the stage of regeneration period. We also examined the effect of sprouts control. In the case of Quercus mongolica, stumps with 1 or 3 sprouts grew 1.3 m faster than the ones in the control stand. For Q. variabilis, stumps with 2 sprouts grew 0.9 m faster. In conclusion small timber production is proper for the oak coppice forest stand which is developed on the forest fire site and pruning or fertilizing is needed to shorten the production cycle.

  • This study investigates the suitability of outdoor wear among female trekkers in their twenties or thirties and provides data for developing outdoor wear more suitable for young females. Recently climbing has gained popularity as a leisure activity to enjoy the beauty of nature that increases physical and mental stamina. A survey was conducted on 304 female consumers in their twenties and thirties who enjoyed climbing in order to investigate the suitability of outdoor wear among young female consumers. The questionnaire covered the subjects' demographic information, duration and goal of climbing, purchase and suitability of outdoor wear, and preferred design for outdoor wear. As for the yearly situations, when they utilized outdoor wear, the biggest number of respondents chose "autumn" as the season for climbing. Most of the respondents were non-professional trekkers who enjoyed climbing as a hobby or for health. As for the size, the upper garment was 90 and 85 in the order, and the lower garment was 70 and 67 in the order. The pants were the most common item they owned, followed by round T-shirts, windbreaker jackets, zipup T-shirts, and waterproof jackets. They mentioned moisture absorption and dry fabric breathability as the basic functions required of outdoor wear. The subjects displayed a preference for partial details under the design category. They most preferred the hood-type jacket with a detachable stand collar, the sleeve hem with a partial rubber band and velcro strap, a T-shirt with a stand color and zipper, the waist fit with proper room, pants with a partial rubber band waist, and straight silhouette pants.
