Common thistle contains water-soluble substances that are antioxidative to foods. Antioxidant activities measured by DPPH method for the ground samples were the greatest in leaves, although was less than that of commonly used antioxidants, BHT and ascorbic acid. Methanol extracts and fractions from Xanthium occidentale plants dose-dependently increased DPPH free radical scavenging activity, in vitro test. The extracts from leaves showed the strongest antioxidant activity. DPPH scavenging activity of the individual fraction was in order of n-butanol>water>ethyl acetate>n-hexane fraction. By means of HPLC analysis, leaf samples of Xanthium occidentale had the highest amount of phenolic compounds, related with antioxidant activity, and followed by stems and roots. Total content of these antioxidant phenolic com­pounds for leaves extracts were detected in water fraction (36.7 mg 100 $g^{-1}$) as the greatest amount, especially chlorogenic acid (39.4 mg 100 $g^{-1}$) was the greatest component. These results suggest that Xanthium occidentale plants had potent antioxidant activity, and their activities were differently exhibited depending on plant part and fraction.

Various aviation safety performance and safety oversight programmes including CRM, SMS and USOAP are operated in various sizes, depending on the capacity of each State. Despite such activities, greate and small, aviation incidents and accidents are continuously occurred. In relation to this point, this paper suggests a result of comprehensive literature review for the purpose of building an aviation safety performance theory. This paper will define the concept of aviation safety and following created common perception on aviation safety will, as basic materials, contribute to pursue consistence and systematic aviation safety activities.

Purpose: A main aims to classify quality attributes for quality assurance activities of military supplies by company size, and to derive the necessity for business improvement by company size to improve customer satisfaction through customer satisfaction coeffiecient and PCSI Index. Methods: Through a survey of defense and general businesses located in Busan and South Gyeongsang Province, the quality of service elements are classified and the client satisfaction factor and PCSI is calculated for the quality assurance activities. Results: Determine the current level of customer satisfaction with the quality of the Defence quality assurance service and present operational factors that need improvement by size of the company. Conclusion: The attractive quality of service factors for quality assurance work were in common and different and the need for improvement was identified based on differences in PCSI Index by Company size.

Multi-criteria decision making is deducing the relative importance in the criterion of decision making and each alternative which is able to making a variety of choices measures the preferred degree in the series of low-raking criterions. Moreover, this is possible by synthesizing them systematically. In general, a fundamental problem decision maker solve for multi-criteria decision making is evaluating a set of activities which are considered as the target logically, and this kind of work is evaluated and synthesized by various criterions of the value which a chain of activities usually hold in common. In this paper, we are the eigenvector methods in weights calculating. For the purpose of making optimal decision, the data of five different car models are used. For computing, we used Visual Numerica Version 1.0 software package.

Composites of platinum and multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were prepared in various reduction conditions and characterized using cyclic voltammetry. The MWNTs were functionalized with carboxylic acid and/or hydroxyl groups in acidic solutions prior to the formation of MWNT-Pt composites. Platinum nanoparticles were deposited onto the chemically-oxidized MWNTs in 1-propanol and 1,3-propanediol. The reduction of Pt precursors in other solutions could induce differences in their morphologies in composite thin films. The morphologies of MWNTs with Pt deposited were dependent on the reduction solutions, and the electrocatalytic activities on alcohols changed accordingly. The electrochemical activities of the as-prepared MWNT-Pt thin films on common alcohols such as methanol and ethanol were investigated.

Spirodela polyrrhiza L. Schleid. (Lemnaceae), also known as 'duckweed', is a traditional medicine in Korea. The whole plant is used to treat many diseases, including the common cold, edema, acute nephritis, and urticaria. The present study investigated antinociceptive properties of the EtOAc soluble fraction of S. polyrrhiza (ESP). The antinociceptive activities of ESP were studied using experimental models of pain, including thermal nociception methods, such as the tail immersion test and the hotplate test. Moreover, we studied chemical nociception induced by intraperitoneal acetic acid and subplantar formalin in mice. ESP exhibited dose-dependent antinociceptive activity in both thermal and chemical pain models. In a drug combination test using the opioid receptor antagonist naloxone, diminished analgesic activities of ESP were observed, indicating that the antinociceptive activity of ESP is mediated by opioid receptors.

A 1,3 kb cellulase gene encoding novel bifunctional cellulase-chitosanase activity was cloned from biopolymer-producing alkali-tolerant B. lichenformis NBL420 in E. coli. A recombinant cellulase-chitosanase, named CelA, was expressed and purified to homogeneity. The activity staining and the enzymatic characterization of the purified CeIA revealed bifunctional activities on carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and glycol-chitosan. The similar characteristics of the enzymatic activities at the optimum pH, optimum temperature, and thermostability Indicated that CelA used a common catalytic domain with relaxed substrate specificity. A comparison of the deduced amino acids in the N-terminal region revealed that the mature CelA had a high homology with the previously identified bifunctional cellulase-chitosanase of Myxobacter sp. AL- 1.

Using the network analysis method, this study investigates the communication structure of Open Data on the Twitter sphere. It addresses the communication path by mapping influential activities and comparing the contents of tweets about Open Data. In the years 2015 and 2016, the NodeXL software was applied to collect tweets from the Twitter network, containing the term "opendata". The structural patterns of social media communication were analyzed through several network characteristics. The results indicate that the most common activities on the Twitter network are related to the subjects such as new applications and new technologies in Open Data. The study is the first to focus on the structural and informational pattern of Open Data based on social network analysis and content analysis. It will help researchers, activists, and policy-makers to come up with a major realization of the pattern of Open Data through Twitter.

Firms increasingly utilize Social Networking Service(SNS) to lead user's voluntary behavior. In the web-based environment, users show coexist loyal behavior which is represented by 'web-based pro-organization citizenship behavior' and 'anti-citizenship behavior'. To measure genuine performance of web-activity, we separated degree of compliance based on credibility, 'deep-level' and 'surface-level' to comprehend different behavior after compliance. The analysis result shows that contents credibility is important to enhance deep-level of compliance which has significant influence on web-based pro-organization citizenship behavior. Contrastively, surface-level of compliance has influence on anti-citizenship behavior. Based on the results of these analyses, the directions of web-based activities for the common good and self-interests of the stakeholders of the web-based activities will be proposed.

Since customer's demand is various and product life cycle is getting shorter, many manufacturing company is trying to reduce product development time and cost. For that reason they make an effort to design product on collaborative environment. The various activities in a product development are highly distributed. This distributed nature of the activities implies that teams will be working indifferent place and technical environments. Thus at a given time, teams might work on he same product from different perspectives. This will require efficient communication amongst the various individuals and the various softwaretools that are used by them. Therefore, there is a need for a computerized frame work that can support distributed design such that participants from different backgrounds collaborate towards one common goal. This paper presents the architecture of a collaborative design system. It then reports on the study of computerized frame work focused on collaboration for product development.
